I think its okay to plan but to also be up for any changes and challanges that come along and make sure our choices and plans include God.

No I do not have my life planned out. I'm 21 and I'm working full time. I have not been through collage but I have several interest I would like to pursue someday. I don't think planning is a bad idea but I sure don't worry about it that I don't have any set plans for my future. I feel safe in knowing its in Gods hands.

kyangel -> RE: Do you have your life "planned out" (6/12/2008 5:38:41 AM)

I'm 18 and I've known that I want to be a music teacher since I was three.. I don't want to get married till my late 20's other than that I haven't planned. I think it's human nature to plan out some things but, I am very open to God coming in a shaking up my world. I've realized that my plans may not be his. I trust God to do whatever he wants in my life, I know I will be well taken care of so why worry about it?

When I was in highschool, and graduating, I really thought I had it all planned out. I had done a dual enrollment my senior year to get some college credit, and I planned to then take a year off before going back to school to study to be a psychologist. However, just as with everything...things don't always go as you planned. During my year off I met a wonderful man who is now my husband. I never in my wildest dreams would have then imagined that at this age (22) I would be married, have a 19 month old son, and be 7 months pregnant with our second child. But I can tell you first hand, that sometimes the unexpected things are also the best ones! I'm so much happier now than I think I would have been if I had gone through with the plans I had for my life. I do hope that once my kids are older I can go back to school to become a registered dietitian, but I don't try to force my life to go in that direction...as I've learned that the twists and turns are the best parts of living.

beachcooky -> RE: Do you have your life "planned out" (6/29/2008 4:36:28 AM)

I do! I'm attending college right now.
I'm going into human services because I want to help people who feel lost and forgotten. So hopefully I'll be able to do that--but I'm sure I'll be good.

But then again, I work at a daycare and I absolutely love it. So I don't know if I should go into early childhood education or what!

Very confused, I'm telling ya!

And hopefully I get married ONE day. I sure hope so. And MAYBE raise a family. I'm undecided about kids, though! Not that I hate them or anything. I am working at a daycare so I obviously don't hate them! (:

My plan in school was to be married with 3 kids by the time i was 20, fast cars, swimming pools, living in the US......i am currently working a part time job and living back home with my parents at the age of 21, after moving house 7 times in the last 3 years!

Eesh.... where are our lives gonna take us i wonder...

endless_night -> RE: Do you have your life "planned out" (7/2/2008 4:50:16 PM)

I had my life planned out, until God decided that wasn't the direction He wanted me to go in. So, now, God has decided to change my plans, so, I'm just seeing where He is taking me.

DreadPirateRandy -> RE: Do you have your life "planned out" (7/5/2008 3:37:32 AM)

I don't believe anyone has their life fully planned out, with every last detail scribbled in writing. It's merely impossible to have planned each second in life when you haven't a clue at what exactly that second will bring.

Life wasn't designed to be "figured out". If it were, wouldn't have someone already unlocked the key by now?

Life is however, a puzzle. Everyday hurdles are before us that weren't schedule in our planner, and they're ever so inevitable in whatever pathways we cross.

You cannot plan for a conundrum ahead of time whenever you don't know what that second holds.

blueshadow -> RE: Do you have your life "planned out" (7/5/2008 5:58:02 PM)

I have a plan that I am currently following (go to Germany next summer, finish college, get married). That plan is most definitely subject to change, though.

The only thing I'm 99.9% positive about is that I will be engaged within the next year and a half-ish, and it'll be to the guy that I'm currently dating.

YahwehsAngel.Love -> RE: Do you have your life "planned out" (7/9/2008 11:55:02 AM)

Well lately Ive been trying to plan my life out better. Ive never had a plan for anything really other than when my classes and work were. So this semester Ive created a schedule that shows me when my classes are, when I have work, kick boxing and bible study and where all my free time is. The main reason I did this is because I have this issue of procrastination... And when you NEED to study, procrastination is a very large enemy. (So was Myspace but I got rid of that ^_^) So yeah Im trying to plan my life out better =]

fluffmonkey -> RE: Do you have your life "planned out" (7/9/2008 1:25:20 PM)

its funny some of my plans if I would have went threw with them... would led me to life that I wouldnt want to be living... so Im very glad that changes have happened and wholes were punched in those plans.

TruelyBroken4u -> RE: Do you have your life "planned out" (7/10/2008 1:24:48 AM)

Honestly, I wish God would give me the blue print to my life. There is so many ups and downs its like a roller coaster that never seems to stop. There once was a good job that I had and I was doing a great at it and then something happen to where I had to move back home. Next, I ran out of money and all the bills and debt began to stack up pushing me to verge of being sent to collections. My new job was only part time and then they too cut my hours and on and on it goes.

I think I have my life planned out but that's if I get into the National Guard. I don't know all I know that it's in God's hands.

fallenstar -> RE: Do you have your life "planned out" (7/21/2008 1:04:56 AM)

Naw, I have a good job, a nice little house and a smart car. I'll just lay back and let the river of life carry me out to my ocean.

theothergabriel -> RE: Do you have your life "planned out" (7/21/2008 9:41:49 PM)

quote:

ORIGINAL: GrapeApe

Matthew 6:25-26 Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

Matthew 6:33 But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

For it is these reasons of why I don't worry about life.

These are two of my life verses. I completely agree that we shouldn't worry about the future. I DO think that we should have plans, as far as goals go.

Proverbs 29:18a Where there is no vision, the people cast off restraint.

I believe that it is God's desire for us to have specific plans and goals set for our life. That isn't to say that He is going to agree with all of them, but having goals means that there is a focus; a method to our madness. I don't think it is right to wander around the earth aimlessly, waiting for God to illumine our paths. I do, however, think that it is okay to pray for God's will to be done in our lives, despite the plans we've made. Just as the quote above says, "seek first His kingdom and His righteousness". If we seek God's glory first, we are sure to achieve His plan for our life...which will be a greater reward than any plans we could make up on our own.

1 Cor 2:9 But as it is written: "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him."

dmb4jc -> RE: Do you have your life "planned out" (8/16/2008 9:41:09 PM)

Yes! I have planned out my life since I was a little girl. I actually consider it a gift. God gave me ambition and drive and I think it is one of my strengths. HOWEVER, God has twisted and turned my "plans" around so much it's laughable. Something I've noticed though in all of my 23 years of life, is that when God switches up my plans I end up conquering more than I ever imagined for myself. Ephesians 3:20 is so true that, God does exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.
So yes, I have a plan, but God has an even greater one. And when things don't always go according to my schedule or "plan", I can now rest in knowing that God is going to do MUCH MUCH more than I ever even thought for myself!

jesuschick247 -> RE: Do you have your life "planned out" (9/4/2008 3:47:06 PM)

I did have my life planned out, but then God decided to change all those plans! My plan was to be a Vet Tech, marry a cute guy, and have two perfect little children...[:)] But, those weren't God's plans for me! I recently decided to submit to the fact that God wants me to fall in love with a guy who is in the ministry and trying to make a difference in this world. I help with the teens at my youth group and I am falling in love with the whole concept of ministry, funny considering how I thought I wouldn't be able to do it! I want to have five kids now, mostly because God really worked on my heart and I want to adopt, the Chapmans' have really inspired me to come to that decision! And last but not least, I will wait for God to bring me the right guy, instead of always running around and trying to get a boyfriend![:D] Because, God has the perfect guy picked out for me anyway, my only job right now is to get through college alive!
So, I guess you could say I don't have my life planned out, but God has the perfect plan for my life![:D][:D][:D]

MeganRenee -> RE: Do you have your life "planned out" (9/4/2008 7:47:55 PM)

I used to have deadlines...I had to be married by 24 so I could have kids at 26-29, and on and on. But then I realized those were my terms, not God's. I have a general idea of what I would like my life to be like. I have dreams and goals. But most importantly, I want to follow Christ wherever He leads me. I know that wherever I end up will be better than anything I could imagine on my own. [:D]

lovestowrite -> RE: Do you have your life "planned out" (9/7/2008 12:34:50 AM)

I am a big planner. But I know from experience that even as much as you plan, everything doesn't occur that way. It's good to know what you want though, it gives you something to shoot for. :)
