quote:
ORIGINAL: GrapeApe Matthew 6:25-26 Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Matthew 6:33 But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. For it is these reasons of why I don't worry about life. These are two of my life verses. I completely agree that we shouldn't worry about the future. I DO think that we should have plans, as far as goals go. Proverbs 29:18a Where there is no vision, the people cast off restraint. I believe that it is God's desire for us to have specific plans and goals set for our life. That isn't to say that He is going to agree with all of them, but having goals means that there is a focus; a method to our madness. I don't think it is right to wander around the earth aimlessly, waiting for God to illumine our paths. I do, however, think that it is okay to pray for God's will to be done in our lives, despite the plans we've made. Just as the quote above says, "seek first His kingdom and His righteousness". If we seek God's glory first, we are sure to achieve His plan for our life...which will be a greater reward than any plans we could make up on our own. 1 Cor 2:9 But as it is written: "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him."
