Glad someone else finally got to see all this. I have followed his youtube channel for a while now. If you post and disagree with him, he retaliates with calling names and usually erases your post if you have a valid scriptual point.
His main theme is hair and dress. In one video he even asks for someone to pay his 40,000 dollar mortgage off. I hope that happens but kind of weird after he preaches against prosperity preaching and TBN. He always talks about long haired hippies in southern gospel industry. Its just so funny because he has wrote some big hits. I used to here in the industry all the time he was pretty far out there but never realized that far!

PS 103, Thanks for the unoffical research. You went more indepth than I did. Once I heard just a little of his sermonettes, I just back away, blocked him, and gave it up. I never posted this thread to attack him or anyone, I just wanted to know if others knew him, or had run ins with him. I never expected the outcome it has taken, and never expected to find out so much about him either. But it does sound like he is way out in left feild somewhere. But it also seems like a person who truely needs a good prayer, and the Lord to take control in his life. I got attacked by him, not even knowing him, and yet still, others wanted to say I was in the wrong, or defend him. Thanks so much for looking into it, posting as you did, and letting us all know what he is about. and I agree with deeannbailey, how sad this world is getting, and how sad it is so many people are being lead the wrong way, and not truely having and idea of it. But, its all plainly written out in our bible about these kind of people, and how the world will be. not to get off subject, but, the bible says there will be a land of plenty, and yet we will not be able to reach it, sounds truely fitting of todays times. I just hope those who have listened and followed him will find the truth and the way, before its too late.

I found this thread intriguing, so I did a bit of unofficial research about the person mentioned in th OP. Please bear in mind that prior to this thread I had never heard tell of Larry Petree, so I had no preconceived ideas, good or bad, about the man.
Here is my review--strictly my own opinion which one may take or leave as they please.
He has a YouTube channel HERE, which has 144 "videos." Some are songs he has written and/or sings, but most are ten-minute-or-so sermonettes. There is no video with any sermon I listened to, only a picture of Larry Petree, with maybe a drawing of a Bible or a sad-looking photograph thrown in for a few seconds.
As for the content, the songs seem to be regular SG songs, not the best I have heard, and not the worst. When he is singing, he does have a nice voice, with good inflection.
That same voice is not so nice to my ears when he launched into his sermonettes. It is an abrasive, condemning tone that is off-putting from the start. I could have overcome this if the sermonettes I listened to (a random sampling) had a message that was compelling, but he seems not to preach the Gospel, as he claims--the Gospel is "The Good News." His sermonettes are very little Scripture and a whole lot of Larry Petree, from what I heard. He used the words "idiot" "moron" and "devil" liberally, and aimed at just about anyone within range, including, apparently, those who have sung his songs. He preached more about what he is against than anything else, and his list is long and inclusive. He does not seem to like anything in any church past what was common in small, Southern American churches circa 1943, and seems certain that all of the Apostles sang only a certain type of music--and he writes it. He seems to have an unhealthy fixation on hair. I only made it through ten or so of these, but the theme was clear--he has the way to salvation, and everyone else is on a waterslide to hell. If I were an unbeliever, he would have pushed me away, fearful that I would catch whatever headache he has.
One of the sermonettes I listened to was a plug for his "Bible College," so I checked it out. In his sermonette, he mentioned several times that is was accredited. Of course, he highly recommeneded it.
I went to the site of the PETREE BIBLE COLLEGE and went straight to the page that listed the accreditation and staff, HERE
The accreditation is from the World-wide Accreditation Commission of Christian Educational Institutions. Never heard of it? Nor had I, but I found it listed HERE..and HERE. I could not find a webpage for the WACCEI, but every "school" which uses them for "accreditation" seems to have this disclaimer:

(I checked every legitimate Bible College and seminary I could think of, and all had *real* credentials with a respected educational accreditation commission, such as SACS.)
The staff consists of Mr. Petree, Daryl Petree and Frederick Weaver. The latter two have ThD after their names, but no hint of where such degrees might have been earned, so they could well have phoned them in for all I know. They give no information about this whatsoever, whcih strikes me as quite odd.
As a bonus, for your pastor's birthday, you can get him an Honorary DOCTORATE from Petree Bible College for a $200 donation....
I found it amusing that at the top of each page of the Petree Bible College, the words "This page is hosted free, courtesy of GoDaddy.com®" appear. For all of his sermons on modesty, he has apparently never seen a GoDaddy ad 
The above is my review of what I learned about Mr. Petree today. It is my opinion only. If you wish to sue me, please make sure your lawyer went to a school with proper accreditation and passed the bar--and not the one that has happy hour from 4-7 pm.

Well, SG is beautiful, and I like some but am CCM fan mostly, but my mother and daddy are big, big fans, and mom singing alot, and had a SG childrens chior. I read the post to her on the phone, and told her he called me a "A" cuss word. She knew the songs, and talked about someone that could write so much beautiful songs, then act so awful, there must be some mental illness or something strange happened to him. I thought it as a good theroy, though do not know for sure.

I dont know how to make it. It seems weird that he takes the blame, and that he apologized but yet says they didnt have anything to do it, and that no one takes the blame, or anything but its on his name, the same one he issued the statement from. To me something just doesnt add up to me. But I know this. I am not going to hold a grude toward him or down him or abuse his name, thats not how christians should be. Who ever did it knows who they are, they will have to face God for it, and answer for their actions. I am going to move on, and take my load as the Lord gives it, do as he calls me to, and continue spreading the gospel as he has already called me to do.
