I was wondering if anyone knew Larry Petree?? I have a channel on You Tube, and Larry Petree has came onto it and been acting as a Judge of my Life and telling me things a christian person shouldnt be saying or doing. I was just wondering if anyone knew him, or what he is all about. I went over to his profile, it says he is a minister of The Gospel and Defender of the Gospel, but in my opinion, what he is doing is very much against the Bible. I didnt know if anyone had had dealings with him, or run ins with him, and if I was the only one?? He really hit a nerve with me, and upset me, which I admit, I kinda went off a little, but I dont think a person should judge someone they dont know, and according to the Bible we shouldnt Judge to begin with. But its not only me, that he went after, It was also the Diplomats Quartet as well. They are great Christian People, a top ten group, and I just dont think this should be happening in Gospel Music. Wrong or Right?? We are all supposed to be on the Same side, working for our Lord, and not fighting among ourselves. IF others outside the Christian community see that, why would they want be Christians?? Again, Right or Wrong?? Or am I the only one that sees it this way?? How can we lead lost souls to Jesus if all we are doing if Fighting with each other, doesnt that give Satan the Victory???

I believe he used to be a songwriter for SG music. I've noticed his ranting and raving about "Hypocrisy in SG", but after about 30 seconds I quit watching.
Not sure what his vendetta is against SG, but I do know that he could probably go about it a better way than how he is.

The Bible speaks of having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof. Maybe that's the case with this person.
As you stated, it's VERY judgmental on his part. Mrs. Rita is one of THE most godly women I know, and has a Holy Ghost anointing on her life, as do the rest of the members of this fabulous ministry. We've talked alot about how that they had better be sure to stay close to God, because so called fellow "Christians" would become envious and jealous of them, and would try to tear them down.
I fear that this person has a sad awakening in store, when God looks at him and says something like "It's time for your reckoning. Let's see... Now how many souls did you win" And how many did you push away from me by your judgmental attitude?" It might not be the way he thinks it's gonna turn out....

I used to be a HUGE fan of his songs. At first I thought, "I'll never listen to another one EVER". But then, I thought, "No. God can use ANYTHING for His glory. After all, he used Balaam's donkey..."

Well a while back before I changed over to Gospel Music I was in Country Music. Well on you tube I have a couple of my country videos posted, as well as my gospel ones. Well he found one of the gospel ones frist, told me I did a great job and needed to record my own CD, then he came across my country one. He said then, I disqualifed myself by posting that trash, and that I was going Hell for it. Even though it was a video from back before the gospel days. Then he posted a thing about the diplomats saying Mama didnt have any glory to read 1 Cor. 11, so I told him he didnt need to be judgeing people to both my videos, and The Diplomats, and he then replied and this is the excate quote he sent me copied straight from you tube "Hey stupid. I cor 11 is in the Bible, GOD has already made that judgment on hair and that woman has no GLORY. Stop being stupid." Now I never said it wasnt in the Bible, and I never said anything calling him a name except to stop judgeing others, that the Bible does say that. After that message it really got under my skin. Maybe it shouldnt have, but I dont like being called Stupid when a person doesnt even know me, and telling me I am going to Hell just for singing a country song.

I, too, had some interactions with this guy. He loves to call people stupid. And don't even begin to discuss looking at verses in context. He says that's what people who claim to be Christians say to cover up their sins. He referred to me as "stupid" and an "idiot" on several occasions in messages he sent me on youtube. I blocked him and told him I had no interest in having a mental battle with someone who was obviously unarmed. I know that was hateful, and I have repented, but he was really getting under my skin.
It really is sad, because the guy has written some great gospel songs. I don't think it's gospel music so much as what he sees as "sin" in the SG industry. He kept asking me to tell who I truly was so he could expose me as a fraud to the industry. I told him that I was noone he ever heard of, just a guy with a love for singing and a love for SG music.
He kept pushing me so I finally said, "My name is Daryl Foster. Like I said, you've never even heard of me. . . ." He went on to refer to me as stupid again and I could just sense the love of Jesus oozing from his messages, so that's when I blocked him.
He's a legalist and not a very nice person based on the exchanges we had in the past. Steer clear of him and you'll be better off. JMHO

THanks bigboytenor I appericate your opinion, and letting me know about your experience. I just felt crazy posting all this, cause I didnt know if I was the only one who has had a dealing with him, or what. Thanks so much for the feed back.

what songs has he written?
I am sorry for the comments made. I just tire of comments made by people judging Christian music. if someone doesnt like a style, simply dont like it. but ridicule the artists and call them unGodly is uncalled for.
Bible does say judge not yest ye be judged. may not hbe word for word but means that.

I have heard several of his songs and like most of them. One of them was Still Drinking Water From The Well, which was a big song for the Cathedrals.
I wonder what happened in his life to cause him to become so negative towards people? I will definitely pray for him.

First, The Bible says "speak evil of no man". Second, Matthew 18 gives us instruction about how to handle differences between believers, and Mr. Petree didn't follow those instructions. I can say this because I asked Rita about Mr. Petree and she hasn't talked to him. Third, my litmus test for discerning a person's spiritual well being is whether the Holy Spirit witnesses their effort to serve Him, and it definitely does hers. Nuff said...

What a shame! People are dying and going to hell, and the likes of this character is out there saying trash about someone who is sincerely out there working for the lord winning countless people to Jesus with their humble spirit and uplifting ministry. Like Jhcaz said, I ask you, Who's testamony in front of 'the world' will be more effective?

I'm 100% for women looking like a woman, and men looking like a man, and I think they both should dress modestly in a way becoming to a Christian. If a particular church wants to adhere to strict mandates about hair, adornments, and things of that nature-- that's OK -- just don't try to tear down people of other denominations that aren't quite so strict, when they are good, honest, just and godly, and trying to keep people out of hell!

It's been several years since I've heard this name come up. I had hoped that was because he had either realized how divisive his attitude was and how much harm it brought to the body of Christ or that he had simply run out of things to say.
I'm sadden to see that neither is true.

jeff_from_kentucky Thanks for the kind words. He hit me hard with the first set when I posted on here, and then today I had about 5 more from him even worse, with a ton a name calling, and harsh words. Its hard to keep your head up with it all, but I am trying. Its people like you and the others who have posted here that help me keep my head high and keep going when satan hits like this. You all on here have been a great uplift to me, more than you know. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. ITs Christians like all of you who truely uplift the name of the Lord, and help us other christians find strength in low times, through the Lords working in you. Jchaz, Qtman, deeannbailey, discmaker and all the rest. Its been a rough start today, begging the day with him haveing these messages waiting on me. But I turn to singing News, and find, I have more excellent things to begin with than he has. I just know hes a bad person, who is trying to act as a christian, and hes going to send alot of people the wrong message and those who listen or follow are going to be in trouble.. Again, Thank you all for being true christians and lending a helping hand(word) in this time or satan trying to overtake...
