I had shoes like that too! Not exactly, because where the heart is mine had a triangle but the concept is the same. I wish I would have kept them, Linz would love 'em.

Never. I didn't like ponchos, I didn't see the point of a garment that the wind would blow up over my face.

Most of my friends wore the shorter ones that would do that...I always thought the wind thing was funny, too.

I had one that was longer, below my knees and more Clint Eastwood looking than the afghan looking ones. Mine also had a hood.

I also had a maxi-coat - ankle length coat for winter.

My mom made all my clothes with the exception of blue jeans - I had a wardrobe to die for and never appreciated it I grew up. Mom made me this really cool fuzzy, ankle length duster sweater that I wore more than anything in the cooler months.

Yeh, I do and tell my mom all the time.

Especially since all of it is back in style Not that anything would actually fit me anymore...but still

I sew some of my clothes, but it's not any cheaper like it used to be. Mom could buy $35.00 worth of fabric and I'd have an entire closet full of stuff.

Its hard to watch That 70s Show because Eric reminds you of yourself at four, except for the drug abuse, sex...etc...

Anyone remember the Banana Splits?
Sid & Marty Kroft again. "Hold the bus!!" I was just singing what I can remember of the theme song in work the other day.

I remember Captain Kangaroo and Mr. Green Jeans as well. Do you remember the SNL take on it starring Mr. Green Fatigues (Eddie Murphy) and Gunny Rabbit?

How 'bout Groovy Ghoulies?

I always wanted the phone that Eddie had, with the dial on the bottom. And the big train that Ricky Schroeder rode on Silver Spoons.

I have the first two season of Barney Miler on dvd and am waiting for more to be released. Along with that comes Taxi, probably one of the best sitcoms ever.

I watched a couple of episodes of WKRP a couple of nights ago and was wondering why I thought it was so funny. I gues they were running a couple of poor examples. But Loni Anderson? Ooh la la!!!!

I wondered the same thing about Night Court. It just isn't funny now.

Gotta disagree there Kath. Maybe I'm biased because I think Harry Anderson is one of the funniest guys ever, but that show was classic. The first 2 seasons were weak, but when Markie Post came on as Christine and Charles Robinson as Mac, the cast just seemed to gel. From the third season until the last show it was consistently funny, and I wish Paramount would hurry up and release more than just the first season on dvd.

Hmm. Now I disagree about WKRP. I have the DVD, and I still think it's a fantastic hoot.

That show is really set in the late 70's...I graduated high school in 1976, so I'm actually reminded more of me at 18 .

Maybe this has already been mentioned, but Dazed and Confused reminds me of my high school days more than That 70s show. I swear whoever wrote that script knew people I went to high school with.

This is a great topic. I was born in '64 and I came up through the '70's so here's my 2 cents worth.

remember the Rookies, Night Gallery, Night Stalker, SWAT, Charlies Angels, 8 track tapes/players, Hank Aaron's #715, earth shoes, bell bottoms, old school soul music, Happy Day's, Three Dog Night, Super Fly, Disco, stacks, the hustle, Cool & the Gang, Earth Wind & Fire, Heat wave, Billy Beer. Some times I miss the '70's but I am glad that God has called me to him in his time and purpose.

RENEGADE.

Oh man, how could I forget Billy Beer? I never tasted it but I heard it was bad.

I wonder what ever happened to him anyway?

I don't remember what he died from, but I'm pretty sure he died the year I had my oldest child, which was in 1988.

I loved my pauncho and gouchos!!

I lived in Hawaii from the summer of '74 to the winter of '76, so I had real puka shell necklaces.
