Not much danger of that.

{{{Kristin}}} and {{{Lynn}}} Thank you, both. This woman was the step mom of one of my male babysitters that started abusing me when I was 3. After Shirley died, this woman became extremely hateful towards me. She and my dad were very good friends and we were always over at her and her husband's house (especially during the holidays). I absolutely hated it. Early on, during my Decade of Healing, I told my dad about the sexual abuse from when I was a toddler, and I told him WHO. One of the absolute most greatest and wonderful gifts my father ever gave me was two-fold: He immediately and without question believed every word I told him about that, AND he also voluntarily ended his almost 20-year friendship with this woman after she started telling him that I was lying. I knew how much that friendship meant to him, so I also knew it was no easy thing to do. Ironically, after I refused to keep the secret any longer, one of the woman's daughters came forward and said that her step brother (my previous babysitter) had molested her when she was in her early teens). (Sigh) I didn't know I was going to get into all that. Thank y'all for listening. I'll relinquish the thread now.

ORIGINAL: WhiteRoseBlessings this woman cut my hair in the shape of a square - straight across high, on my forehead, straight down the side of my face, straight across about 1/2 over my ears and then straight across very high up on my neck, beyond my neck actually. This was more or less Mrs. Kerrlaw's hairstyle from toddler to college graduation. Before we were married, I had a little "shrine to Cindy", with pictures of her through the years. The hair barely changed. She was very cute, and I'll bet you were too.

I truly didn't expect him to believe me. Ours had not been the greatest or easiest of relationships. But I will forever remember the day I told him in front of my counsellor. He looked at me with tears in his eyes, told me he was so sorry and asked me to forgive him for not protecting me and for not being more aware of things. I was completely stunned. He then asked me what I wanted to do, and I told him I wanted to write a letter to my babysitter and to send a copy of it to all his family members (lots of babies were coming up around that time; his nieces and nephews). My dad said for me to do whatever I needed to do and that he would stand behind me 100%. That was the beginning of an very awesome healing between the two of us that Our Lord gave us. Thank You, Jesus. If y'all will excuse me, please, I need to go wash my face. Y'all have a most blessed afternoon. HIS Peace and HIS Joy, y'all.

Shar-Mar That was an absolutely WONDERFUL gift that your dad gave you. A couple of years ago a counselor what I wished from my mom concerning my abuse. I choked out almost exactly what you sid that your dad did. To me that would have been a piece of heaven. It was really hard saying that in front of my mom though. I have to say that she does try really hard to do that, and I really appreciate it even if it was late in coming. Also... one could never mistake you for being ugly. It is so like the step mother in Ever After. It amazes me how people can be so cruel as to seek out to destroy the heart of another. The cartoon: Russ came home while I was making it. I looked up at him and said, "yeah, I know. Usually I am saying that a person has way too much time on their hand;s when I see something like this in a post." Yeah it took me a bit, but not as long as I thought it would. I didn't even finish coloring the dress.
