What about the times where it gives a suggestion that's against TOS?

Yup. I made a post earlier where I left out the hyphen in the word t-shirt. The spell checker suggested I use a 4 letter word for poo. I really don't want to read that word on my computer screen please.

I am really and truly getting annoyed with this problem with the request error. It is really slowing me down.
I really must ditto this post. I am a very fast typer, and I don't know if that's what's going on or not, but I just made a post; and several times I had to stop typing and click "ok" after the problem with the request message popped up. I'm not able to ignore it; if I don't click ok, then I cannot proceed.

All we need is an option to turn it off. Then Ellie can keep it, and those of us who can spell can get rid of it.

LOL

I tell it to ignore a word, and the box goes away but then when I begin typing (in the same box) it comes back and tells me again and again.
YES!!! Isn't that bizarre?! So then, I have to go through and "ignore" all the options again (html coding, user names, etc.) . . . and I can't utilize "preview" until I ignore all those goofy words.

Even those of us who can't spell can still turn it off. Ellie & Kerr seem to like it so they may keep it as far as I am concerned but, please, take mine away to never-never land never to be heard from again.

It seems to be smaller than it was.

If you make no spelling errors, it doesn't get in your way at all.

That tickled me, Roberta!

I didn't know you were ticklish.

I finally saw the blue circle!

I'm not sure why it's annoying some people.

Then again, I don't understand why it's annoying for some people to have a little screen pop up that says No spelling errors were found! either.

I tried it and yes indeed, I did get a vulgar word for poo.

Oy.

And unfortunately, that's not the only vulgar word that can pop up within that spell-checker.

HA! I just posted about this in Computers! I thought it was a new Windows thing!

Absolutely annoying.
Please, is (typed two words and already got the "error message) someone going to do something about this? Please, at least give an option of turning it off.

Are the 'powers that be' aware of just how difficult it makes posting?

Surely, this terrible thing is not actually meant to be, is it? Line after line giving people's names and words that aren't even in the post. It blocks the "ok, preview, cancel" line. It's constantly flashing at me.

Please, is someone looking into this? Is there anything else we can do? I'll be happy to send "fudge" if that's what it takes!

I was wondering how this thing got on my computer...

Y(one letter and the "error message) popped up....ugh.

As I started to say, yes, I was wondering the same thing. I just finished setting up a new computer when this "spellify" horror happened. I thought for sure it was something "bad" in my new computer...but, no it's just something "bad" on this forum.

Gosh, I really hope someone does somthing...fast

I'm editing this because I just noticed I spelled "something" wrong...and wouldn't you know it the "spellify" didn't even notice...

I can't stand it. I want it off, it's very annoying.

I keep getting some weird messages when I'm posting. For example, if I pause for more than a few seconds, I get a message that tells me if there were or weren't any spelling errors.

I don't mind it, it's not bothering me, just took me by surprise.

[Title edited by mod for clarification - I have a feeling a lot of folks will be wondering about this.]

Normally, I don't need a spell checker to write nicely-spelled posts. Apparently, someone must have an agenda to make sure people spell better. Dare I sugest that anyone who wants to potrest this start inserting delibrate mispellings?
Did(one word typed and "spellify" let me know I didn't spell it incorrectly). Just how many people spell "did" incorrectly, I wonder?

As I was saying, what's so difficult about keeping a window open to an online dictionary if spelling is a problim? It didn't even bother to correct this spelling of "problim".

Aside from being one of the most annoying things I've ever encountered on a foum, it doesn't even do its job.

OK - so I can stop asking the teenager what he did?

And, running the virus scan?

And, I can send real emails?

I don't need the validation of knowing my words are spelled correctly, but if you could make it pop up and say that my hair looks nice and my outfit looks professional, I'll send fudge.

Eeeeewwwww, make it go away!

And there is NO problem with this request, no matter what the little box tries to tell me!

Ug, it also keeps losing my cursor.

Where am I?

And stop telling me all the alternative words for Eeeeewwwww and Ug.

Mr. Fritz, please, make it go away.
