I was 10. I was big into Prince, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Culture Club, Duran Duran and all those one hit wonders that had videos out.
My 13 year old brother was introducing me to the rock stuff. My favorites were Def Leppard, Van Halen, Motley Crue, and Ratt.
It was the next year ('84) that I discovered U2, INXS, Depeche Mode, The Cure, OMD...etc. (The bands that surpassed the one hit wonder category and stuck around for a while).
