humbleinspirit: Yes, I do strive to my best, I work in the copying/printing field. quote:
So I just need to find my calling then? I am intelligent, I do know this, however I am just slow at learning things and catching on. And in the work that I do, things are expected to be done quickly, and correctly, and thinking on your feet as well. quote:
So I guess my question is do I need to speed up or do I just accept how God made me and find continue to cope with my handicap and eventually find a job that isn't so "production" based instead? If you're not able to keep up with crazy production schedules, then you might switch into another area of printing that does suit your skills, or try something different altogether. The copying/printing field is without a doubt fast paced, especially if you work at one of the 'rush it out the door' chain copy stores. That unfortunately just goes with the territory. If you have a real talent for print and are a meticulous person and a perfectionist [hence making you a little slower], there are printers around who concentrate on higher end jobs and appreciate quality over quantity. That might be the place for you! For the future, when you interview at various places pay close attention to what they put the emphasis on most. If they put a strong emphasis on insanely quick turnaround and none on artistic integrity, design, and high quality production values ... I would pass.
