I have been playing grand theft auto 4 since I bought it.
I think this will be the game of the year.
I suggest to play this good game.

dryden,

i cant understand why u would say that. that game has horrible contents. its rated M for almost everything in the book. it has so much reckless violence (i do like shooters tho, but this is just shoot anyone u want and do anything u want type game, and its bad), and u have sex with a prostitute and then beat her to death with a baseball bat. no way! honestly i think that game is not good! especially not for Christians. anyone. iv never played it, im just basing my thoughts off what iv heard and read.

but if u like it, thats fine. but i dont see much good in it.

About the previous post... there is typically objectionable content in any game. I don't think anyone under 21 should play GTA IV, personally (or any game in that series of games...) but the game is wonderfully fun from a gameplay and storyline standpoint. The game does have terrible language, the ability to use prosititutes, the ability to get drunk, the ability to kill people at will. Basically it's a free-roaming game in a city that it terribly corrupt in every way. You are an immigrant just trying to make it for a while. As time goes on, you basically get deeper and deeper into working for criminals and living a gangster lifestyle.

I would be deeply disturbed at things that happen in this game happening in the real world, but this is still just a game. There are things in many many games that are not acceptable in the real world. For me, this game is a stress reliever at times, because I can just go steal cars and run down people on sidewalks and run from cops until I die or I'm arrested. You can't do that kind of stuff in real life, so a game seems like a good deterrent. Granted, the game is not for everyone, especially anyone who is liable to compare this game to real life.

On the Xbox 360 I love playing Guitar Hero (can't wait for the Aerosmith one to come out...one more month) and the American Idol Karaoke game. Burnout Revenge is a great game also (I played that a lot when I was pregnant.)

On the computer, I like the silly games like Diner Dash and Cake Mania. I can get lost in those games for hours. I also love playing Scrabble, because I don't have anyone who will play it with me!

On the Nintendo DS I like all the old Super Mario games (and the new one). We're thinking of getting a Wii. I want to get Wii Fit and Wii Sports.

Does anyone know any great computer/video games? I really enjoyed World of Warcraft.

U&U

Your question was a little vague, as to the type of Computer Games you are interested in. I personally prefer simple, smooth running FPS games with good graphics, and a Mission Editor that allows you to make your own maps, and host them online, giving the host the tools to maintain strict control over enforcing rules and language. While there are many First Person Shooters out there, most are too laggy, lock up frequently, limit the area you can play in, and have complicated controls NOT simple ones.

There are a few exceptions out there, such as those that I host for a couple hours every night with up to 16 players, (MOSTLY Christians). I host Delta Force Land Warrior on even numbered Nights and Delta Force Xtreme on odd numbered nights, starting around 9:00 PM Pacific. Personally, I do think DFLW and DFX are two of the BEST First Person Shooters ever. My site's name on both is: DC's--DM. My game name is: DC-Scout-67.

As I said most of my regulars are older "born again" gamers, and it is not unusual for the chat line part of the game to drift to Bible questions, or Prayer Requests. We play just for the fun of it and the Chat is all part of the fun. I maintain a STRICT "go by the Rules" policy, with zero tolerance.

My rules are simple: No Cheat Codes, No Offensive Language or Names, No Bickering or Name Calling, No Accusing or Whining, and NO ARGUING WITH MY RULES. I have the ability to Punt or BAN violators, and DO NOT HESITATE to do so.

As a result, most of my regulars are on my Site because they like my rules, and enjoy a game without the garbage you have to put up with on most sites. I have even had on several occasions, Parents type and thank me for providing a safe place for kids to play the game. I do make my own maps for both games, and you will find that I have numerous maps, and a wide variety of types of map.

DFLW is a 2001 game, and runs great on just about any PC. DFX is about two years old, and is like a highly updated version of DFLW. DFX has the added features of NUMEROUS armored vehicles you can drive and shoot, including Tanks, Humvees, APCs, Dune Buggies, etc. It also has Helicopters with miniguns, and several armored boats, as well as Dirt Bikes that get some serious air and are a blast to ride. Both games are downloadable from www.novalogic.com, or if you get lucky, you can find them cheaper at a local Computer Game store.

Yes, there are lots of Christian Gamers, and some of us are old timers. I do not subtract from important things to play the game, instead I simply exchanged the two hours that I used to watch TV, for two hours of Computer Games instead.

It is nice to hear that someone has high standards for chat, etc. Our WoW guild is not christian but maintains a very family friendly policy, also the policy of helping others. Granted we do get silly in there at times ;) but having a standard of decent behavior makes a big differance in my eyes.

Does that mean that somefolks sometimes get irritated? Of course, there are misunderstandings now and then. I don't think that they are ever intentional, though.

and i'd play it with the included wheel first to see if you like it before you decide you need to buy 3 more plastic wheels ... i am still partial to the gamecube controller

The Wiil works pretty well. I'd definitely prefer it to a standard controller. That said, the game is getting old and losing my interest pretty quickly.
