With the recent news of various compounds filled with out of state whackos residents here in Texas, I'm sure you'll be thrilled to learn of another one!

I give you Paulville!
quote:

At last, some cheering news for downhearted fans of Ron Paul, the libertarian Republican now certain to fail, by some distance, to secure his party's presidential nomination. This month has seen the first meeting of the shareholders in a fledgling community development planned in rural Texas, to be comprised exclusively of Paul's supporters. It is to be called Paulville.

The gated settlement will house freedom-loving folk, living unbound by the shackles of planning regulations. Its founders hope that when complete, it will inspire further Paulvilles around America and, in their own words, "literally change the world, one community at a time".

And as you'll see from these photos, they will be able to view some very nice sunsets.[;)]

Is this a libertarian commune? [sm=hippiesmile.gif] But maybe with people with shorter haircuts?

And here is one of the Paulite faithful who might migrate to the west Texas community...

My long term goal is to live on Mars and travel freely about the Solar System. To get near that goal, I believe that I need to live in a free country, and have other free countries around in which to do business. So, you know, the USA as currently organized is really not to my taste.

Oh boy! Here's another one!

Hello fellow Paulites!

I'm josh from California and I will be your neighbor in the near future! I just bought 5 acres of land in Hudspath TX and will be heading out there soon to start on my earthship!
Look under "Introduce Your self" for more.

Ah, it'll be a blast of a place to live I'm sure.

"The community would be privately held by the co-op to establish private property for the general community thus preserving the community is 100% freedom and liberty lovers. "

Is freedom having your property "privately held" by someone else? How will that someone else pay the property taxes every year? How will this community sustain itself? Freedom is an intangeble asset. You can't bottle it and sell it. Or can you...... Hmmmmm.....

Sounds like he's on Mars already! Beam me up Scotty!

BTW, you think they could have spelled heart correctly! (It's a pretty obvious mistake.) Noone reads anything when they do the final edit and computer spell checks won't catch those type of mistakes.

When one reads in their forums you find that they are out to take over the small rural counties in the country, one at a time.

"It takes a village" Libertarian style. You think Hillary will want royalties to help her finance her campaign for their use of her concept?

TomTurn -> RE: Paulville, Texas (4/19/2008 9:51:01 AM)

Most likely just more people who will live in the small town being bitter and clinging to their religion and their guns.

Maybe if Obama gets in office he can bring Janet Reno on staff and show them who is really in charge?

I think Jamet Reno is touring the USA with her "friend" Donna Shalala in a small campong trailer.

Thanks
