The start of a new day.. Dude's at school, oldest LS is enjoying the day off, and the youngest LS is still sleeping.
I will be in and out, but I do have to cook whilst it is cool. GOD bless!

(I hope the Judge likes his courtroom.)

James, your phrase should be "Yo estoy cansado." Soy is the first person singular of ser, which means "to be" for things that are permanent. It would be "Yo soy" if your personality was tired ALL THE TIME.

Estar is the "to be" that has to do with things that aren't permanent, like moods. So, (and I am!) Yo estoy cansada! (I am tired, in the feminine!)

Really, Kristin? I was stationed in Germany for four years, and never got more than a few words.

Well, I've forgotten much of it. I took 3 years in high school and about a 1.5 years in college... More than 10 years ago...

Before I was born, my dad was stationed in Germany for 2 years (army) and my mom was there with him. He learned some but has forgotten most of it. However, he speaks Spanish pretty well and can carry on conversations with folks.

I used to date a girl that was bilingual. Spoke seven languages. Said no in all of them.

Seriously At one time I could speak a fair conversational German, Spanish and English. I have now lost that ability.

I eventually want to be bilingual. We have so many Spanish speaking folks around here, it's handy to know.

I can say no in about 6 languages. My mom said it was also my first word when I was a baby...

I do need to learn Spanish though. We have an extremely large Latino population in this area.

I actually know a few common phrases (although I'd probably slaughter the grammar)... And a few key words for various jobs over the years.

I suppose for my hopefully next job, I'll need to learn things like "you're under arrest" and "how much did you have to drink tonight?" though...

Actually for your next job. There is a requirement for CE credits each year. And most academies offer a pretty good course in survuvor spanish for police officers.

I used to be bi-lingual, but the doctor gave me something for it and as if by magic! It disappeared!

Of all the languages, I would love to learn Italian just cause it sounds so cool.

I can do a pretty good Scottish accent. Does that make me bilingual?

Oh, that would be so grrrrreat! I have a great deal of Scotch in me and I can do the accent fairly well. If that counts then I'm gonna be excited.

...wait a minute...

I meant Scotch as in Scottish

not ya know
