I recently attended a Booth Brothers concert and was not very impressed. They seemed to have an ego, they were a little too showy, and spent too much time singing love songs. They don't even want to call themselves a Southern Gospel group; they said that was the type of music they were commonly associated with. I don't understand these groups that try to act like they are not southern gospel. They are forgetting that they have NO fan base at all outside of southern gospel.

I don't understand this AT ALL! The Booth Brothers are VERY Southern Gospel. I know a lot of their music has a tendency toward Country, but most of their music is SG. I have found them to be very down-to-earth and folksy at concerts. I've not seen the "showy"side you're referring to. What was the venue???
BTW, the Booth Brothers are up for a WHOLE BUNCH of Singing News/Southern Gospel awards at NQC (9 actually), so I really don't understand the "They don't even want to call themselves a Southern Gospel group" comment.

All I will say is they do have a heart for ministry and make it very clear in their concerts. I know not everyone likes every group...I don't care for some that others are crazy about. I always come away feeling like I've had church. Lots of praising and singing. They do say they are Southern Gospel. They have roots very deep in SGM. I'm sorry you came away feeling otherwise.
