ORIGINAL: lanalounsbury But no one could say that, nutritionally speaking, eating 1/2 an Oh Henry bar harms the body in any way. In fact, it's downright enjoyable (gasp!). Praise God for chocolate bars! Why are we following all of the worlds rules and being so legalistic? Stay inside this parameter, eat this many times, this amount, these certain things, doing no less than this amount of exercise...kinda sounds like... "Since you died with Christ to the basic principles of this world, why, as though you still belonged to it, do you submit to its rules: 21"Do not handle! Do not taste! Do not touch!"? 22These are all destined to perish with use, because they are based on human commands and teachings. 23Such regulations indeed have an appearance of wisdom, with their self-imposed worship, their false humility and their harsh treatment of the body, but they lack any value in restraining sensual indulgence." Col 2:20-23 There are medical reasons for us to understand that even though all things are permissible, not all things are beneficial. Each person has to figure out for themselves based on the signals their body gives them and common sense what will work. For those who don't have medical reasons for their weight then sure portion control is the primary issue.
