I was going to name it "Bring May Flowers", but thought it would be confusing to have May in the title for April chat.

Our trees are blooming, despite snow, sleet and hail. Don't you just hate how cold this global warming is?!

Crazy, isn't it?!?!

I didn't realize we could start the chat thread a few hours early! Here I thought it was whoever got on here first the 1st day of the month. Now, I know the secret to get to be the one to start it!

I live on the west coast. I have only ever started a couple of chat threads, so today I decided that I was going to be a bit more of a maniac and start the thread before a couple hours early. It's not even 8:00 here.

I thought it was mighty early to have an April thread!

Cynthia,
You'd be a good candidate to start the mid-month thread!

My Dad called to tell me that he received a card from my cousin saying that a box of things was going to be shipped to me. My cousin wasn't sure of my address so he was going to ship it to Dad's.

I called my cousin to tell him the right place to ship it. It's things my grandmother had about my mom-articles, a doll, etc...

I'm making Ratatouille for the first time. For once, so far, my kids haven't looked at the veggies cooking and complained. They are excited because I'm cooking something from the movie. So my son drew pictures of the Eiffel Tower, and a rat holding a French flag and taped them up in the kitchen. Then he made a French flag and hung it outside.

Sounds like Social Studies to me...but don't tell him that!

You party animal, you!

Ok, I 'did' choir practice. They are a lovely group of people. I cannot believe that they intend to sing a song we practiced tonight THIS Sunday...I have never performed with a group that would perform at that level of practice...every choir I've ever been with would simply not sing. Oh, well. Oh, the director IS the pastor's daughter...I didn't realize he had two. She's a sweetie...and her dad's a professional musician, but somewhere in there, something got lost in the translation. I WILL sing this Sunday...there were only three sopranos there and two of us were new! I figure since I know it as well as any other I ought to help out. I have not decided, however, if I'll continue after that.

The kids are walking to the store for soda pop and gummy bears. Ash is going through Dew withdrawl

Looks like I had better go get my quote-let, huh?

Our church choir practices on Wednesday for whatever song they will sing on Sunday. Our preacher took over the music committee last year and formed the choir. The people try, but they don't have much range or rhythm, and the pastor doesn't take that into account when he picks the songs. Some days it's downright painful to listen to them.

They put the date on the front of the sheet music when they buy it. I am not sure if we sang more than one song tonight that they bought in this millenia. It's all....very sleepy.

Geez, I get busy at work and everyone starts taking over the world without me.

I am already on the winning side. I just don't have the time right now to putz with getting an avatar up. I just logged in a few minutes ago, and look what time it is. It has been crazy busy all night.

I know you won't. My daughter still lives with you, remember? She's always been a very obedient girl.

This is kinda funny, though - I never realized how much I depend on everyone's avatar to know who's posting. Now I actually have to read the usernames. I find it all very disorienting.

Were you talking to me? Party animal? lol I better go turn up the music. Oh, wait that would wake up the whole house. I'll just have to hum quietly to myself.

This world domination thing must be going to my head or something. I felt quite energized to start the new thread this month and was unwilling to risk someone else getting to it first. Yikes. Maybe I had too much sugar today. We finished off the ice cream cake from dd's birthday.

Cindy, YOUR obedient daughter chose your avatar. And she said that Mt. Dew and pizza are not good enough incentive to kill me, and not even expensive chocolate will do. I think she likes me Neener Neener Neener...although I suppose she could just be philosophically opposed to murder. But I like the first option better, lol.

There ya go on your new pic. I thought your siggie already said what needed to be said.

Thank you. The choice of avatar doesn't surprise me at all.

You might want to remind said obedient daughter that I would not be bribing her to do my bidding. She would obey out of pure self preservation.

I think my siggie says it all, too.

Russ has already cancelled April Fool's Day because the kids were sitting around in their PJs instead of getting going on their morning chores. When will they learn?

Me too. I'm running on limited brain cells here, folks!

And I'm not joining in because I was naughty last year on April Fool's and ended up hurting someone. So this year, I'm being good.

Lisa, how can you cancel April Fool's Day? Was that Russ' idea of an April Fool's joke?

Happy April 1st. I am hoping the kids don't do anything to awfully mean to each other.
Have a good day everyone.

I'm pretty sure I didn't do anything for April Fool's Day at all last year, and I know I didn't do anything the year before because we were moving. Last year it fell on a Sunday, if I remember right, and it just was too difficult to come up with anything here.

Did you get in trouble here, Donna? I thought that was my job.

Nope, he really meant it. The kids are not allowed to pull pranks as I am having trouble enough with keeping them moving much less while they are being silly, which lately leads immediiately to ignoring mom because she is unable to stay on top of things right now... which causes me to be in more pain from trying.
