I did a search and did not find an existing one for such a popular teacher. So hopefully this one is OK with the Admins/Moderators..

Considering we live in a media driven age - let's start our discussion of Hagin's teachings and practices with some video documentation:

At a service

Teachings Comparison

More to come later..

FurGodWurLivin -> RE: :: Official One-Stop Kenneth Hagin Discussion (3/26/2008 5:37:37 PM)

Now that we have One Stop Threads for Hagin, Hinn, and the WoF........ can we stop dredging them up elsewhere on the board?

ta_mosquito -> RE: :: Official Kenneth Hagin Discussion (3/26/2008 5:41:12 PM)

Nope - one-stop thread need to be approved by admin. I changed the title of the thread.

Thanks!

Thanks, Tricia - sorry about that. I must have had a flashback from when I used to be a moderator. [8D]

rcjames -> RE: :: Official Kenneth Hagin Discussion (3/26/2008 7:57:23 PM)

Is this thread for discussing the teaching of Hagin Sr. or Hagin Jr.

There is a sizable difference in the two.

Hagin Sr. - sorry for the lack of clarification.

You've got to be kidding. Right? Even the video you show begins with mocking statements across the screen intended to ridicule. I was under the impression that love does not mock...hmmm, I must have read 1 Corinthians incorrectly.

There is no way a serious discussion can ever happen with a group of people who consider it fun to sit around mocking and ridiculing other believers and who make ridiculous videos to try to humiliate a man who is now dead and worshipping Jesus before His thrown at this very moment.

That's more shameful IMO than anything you guys disagree with. How can you speak ill of someone who is in Jesus' presence? We humans go the lowest lows, don't we....

Propitiation -> RE: :: Official Kenneth Hagin Discussion (3/26/2008 10:41:53 PM)

Once again E.W. Kenyon gets left in dust for being the true father of the word of faith movement. I don't have much to say about a person who plagiarizes someone else's teachings almost word for word and said it was a revelation from God.

Examples of plagiarism

E. W. Kenyon

The twenty-second Psalm gives a gnphic picture of the crucifixion of Jesus. It is more vivid than that of John, Matthew or Mark who witnessed it.

But He says the strangest words, "But thou art holy." What does that mean? He is becoming sin. Can you hear those parched lips cry, "I am a worm and no man."? He is spiritually dead. The worm. Jesus had died of a ruptured heart. When that happened, blood from all pats of the body poured in through the rent, into the sack that holds the heart. Then as the body cooled, the red corpuscles coagulated and rose to the top. The white serum settled to the bottom. When that Roman soldier's spear pierced the sack, water poured out first. Then the coagulated blood oozed out, rolled down His side onto the ground, and John bore witness of it. (What Happned from the Cross to the Throne [Seattle: Kenyon's Gospel Publishing Society, 1969], 44 - 45)

Well, I hope he changed before he died, but he had some very dangerous teaching.

But aren't these taken from Hagin's own videos? They are the ones making fools of themselves. It wasn't a video that was "morphed" from other videos. In this case, a video clip says a thousand words.

Soxfan -> RE: :: Official Kenneth Hagin Discussion (3/27/2008 9:26:12 AM)

Hagin may not have been the father of the WoF cult, but he made it mainstream. We can thank him every time we see Hinn, Meyer, Osteen, Dollar, Copeland, Duplantis, Jakes, Price, etc, perverting the Word of God to feed their material greed

Some more Hagin material:

Redhead "mooing" at Kenneth Hagin meeting

More Hagin antics

Still More

Hagin's music director doing Holy Laughter!

Demonic holy laughter

Teaches the Jesus was "born again"

Nothing...They are/were both leaders in the WoF cult (father/son)

Hagin Sr is sometimes credited for being the "father" of the WoF cult. But it was actually E.W. Kenyon before him. Hagin Sr plagerized Kenyon's teachings and brought the WoF cult to the mainstream.

He also founded Rhema College, a breeding ground for WoF false teachers

Propitiation -> RE: :: Official Kenneth Hagin Discussion (3/27/2008 12:40:14 PM)

You got that right, Soxfan. The tulsa/broken arrow area is an infested wof breeding ground equivalent to a mosquitoes breeding ground.

SD456 -> RE: :: Official Kenneth Hagin Discussion (3/27/2008 3:45:50 PM)

As I said....you make my point very well....no serious discussion could ever be had with a room full of mockers.

gaylel1 -> RE: :: Official Kenneth Hagin Discussion (3/27/2008 3:50:51 PM)

The senior Hagin said something interesting before he passed away about the same docterine he was involved in. Charisma magazine reported that its message with the prosperity tinged in it was distorted and did not say anything about greed or trends or whatever.

Very interesting...[8|]

Not mocking. Calling it like I see it. I used to live in Tulsa and was a part of the word of faith connection. The word of faith bible college I was affiliated with was very familiar with rhema and all the like minded churches in the area. ( Lots and lots of them) Hence the breeding ground term.

mcleod -> RE: :: Official Kenneth Hagin Discussion (3/27/2008 4:51:16 PM)

You telling me that Old-man Hagin had a college that was in competion with their brother Oral?

FurGodWurLivin -> RE: :: Official Kenneth Hagin Discussion (3/27/2008 4:53:13 PM)

Why is this not getting bumped to the OneStop thread for the WoF? That is the only thing I don't understand...

I have made my points and defended them in other forums. I guess I'm asing if I really want to do it all over again in this one. However, I can understand how so many people are getting jaded, cynical, and leaving the church. Just look at the judgemental spirit and the people making light of this... it's disheartening to say the least.

As someone who used to live in Tulsa, there is a lot of the "old guard" WoF crowd there... just like how there are a lot of "old guard" baptists in Georgia, the Carolinas, and Alabama. However, we need to stop mocking these people. Not just because it isn't nice, but also because you will accomplish much more praying FOR someone then you ever will talking ABOUT them.

If you can't see the differences between their teachings and that of the Word of God I fear for you.I am actually being nice and not saying what i truly think because of the MODS.

Though some are wickedly judgmental like the Pharisees I know that most on this board are judging these false teachers righteously like Christ says to do in John 7:24:
Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.

I could care less about their lifestyle/money and so forth,people who cannot discern the truth in God's word fall for them but i am not giong to sit back and defend people who preach a different Christ.

Dancre -> RE: :: Official Kenneth Hagin Discussion (3/27/2008 6:55:48 PM)

Since i"m sure this will be an "I hate Hagin" thread, I think I'll step out of this one. It seems each time I try to show that he's ok, someone throws in the 'one' line garbage to 'prove' how bad he is, not to mention refusing to ACTUALLY listen to what he says instead of twisting all his words. I've followed Hagin for 20 years now, but I know you all won't listen. So enjoy your 'feast.' I'm outa here.

Exactly Sammy S. What God are they teaching about? When I went through its schooling all I heard about was God wanting me to prosper, tithing, blessings and God's love. Not once did I hear about God's judgement, wrath and his hatred of sin. You can't teach God's love unless you also teach about His holiness and judgement. In fact, I remember reading through the Old Testament wondering who that angered filled God was. Scary huh?

Not in competition. Rhema was more on the lines of seminary training while Oral Roberts was a full fledged university. They were both affiliated. ORU accepted rhema credits if you wanted to transfer.

earthless -> RE: :: Official Kenneth Hagin Discussion (3/27/2008 9:23:00 PM)

Kim,

Do you not see that is the problem with the WoF crowd? They never want to actually see what teachings are in question. They're like ostriches that do not want to see nor even deal with the possibility that their favorite preachers may indeed have serious enough issues in regards to their teachings and practices that for the body of Christ to discuss in sincerity and honesty.

This happens every single time and is very frustrating for those that wish to tackle something that affects many sincere and yet unsuspecting people.

It's cult like and a bit odd that this seems to be the running them with the WoF crowd. [:(]

Sometimes I think the biggest problem is the complete lack of common courtesy. Can you at least be honest enough to say that this is the official Bash Kenneth Hagin forum instead of pretending like you want to have a discussion? If Kim has something nice to say about Hagin or positive I will listen to her out of politeness and courtesy.

I can give you another reason also from Philippians 2:

quote:

3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.

It goes on to say that Christ humbled himself further and suffered to the point of dying on a cross. If Christ can do all of that for me then I try to at least respect and treat with courtesy my brothers and sisters in Christ who I disagree with or who are wrong or who I happen to think are wrong.* If for no other reason then we are told to esteem others as better than ourselves and I don't recall there being any exceptions.

*At least on matters of faith.
