I just want to say that I think God will fulfil most of the desires on our list. If not all of them, He will satisfy the most important ones. He knows the type of person who we are compatible with, he knows us better than we know ourselves.

You said it quite well! I think my list helps keep me on track of what I know I want and need in

a guy, and I pray over that list everyday, I think God will honor the fact that I want a guy who is

on-fire for Him. And yes, God does know us better than we know ourselves!!

I think the list is a great thing to pray over ... and when you meet people (for me anyways) checking it once and awhile helps keep me focused.

I have a mental list... that I add and subtract onto periodically as I discover things.

If I set anything in stone I imagine God will laugh to himself as he decides to thump me over the head with my own stone :)

I thought of an illustration, finding a mate is like panning for gold. You first pick up a lot in the pan and then you pick thru the pan and discard the ordinary and unsuitable rocks out until only the gold is left.

^ I love that illustration!

I do have a list infact I was going to make a new topic about having a list...until I saw this topic..... lol I didn't know if it was normal or not to even have a list... but now I know.

My list is small ...... the main ones with me are ....

1. A future husband that is a Godly man

2. I can get along with his family and he can get along with mine

3. A guy that DOESNT smoke

4. No piercings and tattoos (would be nice)

5. A hard worker NOT lazy!

Thousandroses, your list is a lot like mine! In fact all of those things are on my list too, except I

could careless whether he has tattoos or piercings, it doesn't really matter to me at all! In place

of that on mine says I would like him to be able to sing and play an instrument! My complete list

has a hundred things on it, I got pretty specific with God about what I pray for in a guy...

I used to think I couldn't do piercings until I met some really nice christian guys who have some,

the guy I like doesn't have any, but it wouldn't bug me if he did. I'm still not real keen on the lip

piercings, but I think it is kind of cool when a guy has his ears pierced, I'm just weird like that

though!
