furrypurrykitty -> Osmonds 50th Anniversary Reunion (3/20/2008 12:06:36 AM)

I've seen this program on PBS and really enjoyed it. When I was a teenager I had a huge crush on Donny and bought the Osmonds' records, the teen magazines, etc., and watched the Donny and Marie show, so seeing this special brought back a lot of great memories. I taped the show Sunday night so now I can watch it anytime I want and can fast-forward through the fundraising pleas. [;)]

I have a friend who loves the Osmonds too and wants to see them in concert, but she says they aren't coming anywhere close to where we are. [&o]

So, if you've seen the special, what did you think of it? What were some of your favorite moments, songs, etc.? I especially enjoyed "Yo-Yo" and "Crazy Horses" from the brothers (the harmonies are still so great), and everything that Donny sang.

I like many young guuys in the 70's had a thing for Marie. But I did not see the show in conversation

I saw it and loved it!

I was a huge Osmond fan and it was a thrill to see all them together. I was impressed that Alan could get up to dance on a few of the songs. For those who don't know, Alan has been battling MS for a long time now.

Also great to see the two oldest, non-performing, brothers signing to the last song.

I didn't know until the special that Alan had MS.

I kept trying to remember all of their names.

I did enjoy it.

I remembered all the names and which order they used to dance!
LOL[:D]

I was trying to remember from oldest to youngest...... I could remember Donny, Marie and Jimmy as the youngest three. I knew that Alan was the oldest to perform and the third oldest.

I think the order of the performing siblings is Alan, Wayne, Merrill, Jay, Donny, Marie and Jimmy. I've often wondered how it was for Marie having so many brothers and no sisters.

You forgot the oldest two, I think one of them is named Tom. They didn't perform, they were on the special though.

Isn't it Tom and George - and either one or both of them is hearing impaired?

DenimDiva -> RE: Osmonds 50th Anniversary Reunion (4/1/2008 2:11:49 PM)

I think they both are hearing impaired, but I could be wrong.

I know that I was disappointed to find out that I couldn't marry Donny when I grew up because I'm not a Mormom. I tried to convince my parents to join the Mormon church, but they insisted on not joining any church at all.

Ironically, my agnostic brother is married to a Mormon. He isn't joining her church though, but they are raising their son in the Mormon faith. [:o]

I didn't mention Tom and Virl because they weren't part of the group that performed. I thought it was neat that the original reason the brothers started performing was to raise money to buy hearing aids for Tom and Virl.

I saw a big chunk on PBS and I loved it! I love the Osmond family. I pray they will find the real Jesus some day. When I was a kid they were safe and easy to listen to. I love Marie and her beautiful dolls on the shopping channel. Donny does cameos that take you by surprise...like with Weird Al and Raven.
