Very sad story.

WESTON, Wis. — An 11-year-old girl died after her parents prayed for healing rather than seek medical help for a treatable form of diabetes, police said Tuesday.

There's no way to transition from the tragic story in the posts above.

Since those posts are from a few days ago, here's a link about Ken Copeland that I guess should be on this thread (note it's a .pdf):

Ezekiel 13:3 - "This is what the Sovereign Lord says: What sorrow awaits the false prophets who are following their own imaginations and have seen nothing at all."

Didn't know where to bring this up but then thought what
"all things" hole would it wind up in. So, LOL.

Every now and then I tune in to TBN when I want to feel nauseous.

They have reached an all time low in my opinion.
They are attaching themselves to Jewish practices (in mouth only)
since Messianicism in on the rise.

I was very saddened to think they would twist the use of Passover to
deceive people into pledging $88, $888, or $8,888 to their telethon.
Last night Paul said they had their biggest donation count for this time in the telethon ever.

So, they know the gullible are just as gullible as ever. Perhaps even more so.
Such abominations were being proposed by men who supposedly know the Bible.
Ezekiel and Jeremiah gave us very good tests to spot false prophets.
It's just a shame that very few ever read Ezekiel or Jeremiah to have discernment.

Huch and his co-spiritor were using the "Passover" declaring God stands at your door
to block all the "poverty demons" from your house. And you don't have to be born-again
to get in on the blessings. Just send in your donations and they pray the prayer of prosperity.

I would pray their eyes be opened, but I think they are so self-deceived they may never "see" it.

I always debated using this as a sig to:

"if you want to be blessed, you have to find the most blessed evangelist or pastor you can find because he that has been given much receiveth much, he that has little, even that which he has will be taken from him. If you find the most blessed prosperous preacher and give him money, then you will be blessed. The more blessed he is, if you give you to those that are most blessed. . . "

Good match for a sig with that avatar?

Shrommer,

Can you please show us how Benny Hinn's heretical teachings are indeed biblical?

Can you please show us how Benny Hinn's documented false/failed prophecies are indeed true and not against the rule for Prophets given by God Himself in Scripture?

Thank you because no one has been able to do that and because you bring him up I would like to hear your explanations about all of this.

Hello in The Lord! We know that, almost without exception, a 'prophet' is false if they start declaring dates for fulfillment. God almost never gives a date on Prophecy at Scripture. Therefore, Mr. Hinn has taught that something concerning 2012. However, the fact is that our solar system will enter and pass the center of the galaxy called the 'milky way' at that time. The celestial bodies are ordained Sovereignly by God as it is written in Genesis; and Jesus had a large glorious star over His Birth at Bethlehem. Therefore, celestial events have meaning and significance given to them by The God who Governs them. That is not to say that the enemy didn't try to steal some of the meaning to give glory to false 'gods'. Nevertheless, there is much to learn from what was made, for it is written:God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. For the earth is The Lords and the fullness thereof, the universe and all that are within it. We know that only the wise men from other countries came to worship Him at His birth from afar. For they understood what was written, as a sign to them, in the stars which God ordained: "we have come to worship the one born King of The Jews."

This has got to stop!
http://www.komotv.com/news/local/17249469.html

CLACKAMAS COUNTY - A church in Oregon City that believes in faith healing rather than getting medical attention has been under the microscope for the past few weeks after a baby girl died of health problems that the medical examiner said could have easily been treated.

Carl Worthington, 28, and Raylene Worthington, 25, face manslaughter and criminal mistreatment charges in the death of their 15-month-old daughter, Ava.

The infant died March 2 from bacterial bronchial pneumonia and an infection, both of which the state medical examiner said could have easily been cured with common antibiotics.

Benny Hinn has also declared that we are "little Christs" in the sense that we, too ARE divine. We ARE God according to Benny Hinn. He twisted all of Scripture into some madhouse of the devil.

Whenever I see someone calling them self a prophet, I want to shudder, because I can honestly say I have met 99 false ones for every 1 POSSIBLE one!!!
I have lived my whole life without ever once needing a prophet other than the ones in the Bible to tell me anything. What could they add? Everything I need to know has been written or given to me by the Spirit working within me, which is only affirmed by His Word anyway!!! If modern day prophets exist or not I have seen no use for them and worse, see them spreading sensationalism, fear, Gnosticism and all sorts of Satanic bile in the guise of revelations from God.

These Word of Faith(lessness) preachers are deifying themselves, leading people astray with magic and towards death: physical and spiritual!

I had a friend that was all wrapped up in that Copeland garbage in the mid to late 80's and he once wrote me a letter after my mother died (she had been in a coma for 2 1/2 months after a brain anurism) that it was MY fault she died because I didn't have enough faith. These teachings devastate people that are in them, because if the situation were reversed, he would feel HE didn't have enough faith! I had a most un-Christian urge to sock him in the jaw after I read that letter and it saddened me to the depths of my already grieving heart.

Wake up, Church! Doctrines of devils are everywhere, but we won't deceived if we trust in Christ alone! Stay grounded in His Word, prayer and do all with a repentant heart! May we all be there together when Jesus comes to gather His saints and rejoice together with Him!! He is our joy and salvation! Preachers of death are not!!!!

peace

I was thinking about this thread and it brought to mind a song by Bad Religion called "American Jesus." On its face, it may seem sacrilegious...but there is a lot of truth in it and it kind of goes along with what we've been talking about.

I won't link to it because I don't know if it's against TOS. A quick search on YouTube will bring up the video.

Today on the train I was reading an article in InTouch magazine about child soldiers in Uganda. Children who are kidnapped and taken to be used as soldiers in uprisings against the Christians and government there. It just broke my heart to read this story of what this young woman and other children go through. And her faith in God which was pretty much the only thing keeping her alive. Then I think of these these I don't know what to call them, "evangelists" preaching this "gospel" of wealth and prosperity. And saying things like "Jesus died so we could live veluptously"??? I don't know if I want to scream cry or puke! Don't they go on these supposed "missions" trips to these countries. Don't they see theere's more going on than just worrying about getting a Bentley or "living up to your potential". There are people dying out there with no hope. Who's life is trying to get another meal or not get killed. Not everyone is sitting at home in there recliner or computer hoping to get their best in life now. And they come back after seeing these things to continue to preach a gospel of greed instead of a gospel of hope that there's more than our life here. Knowing what's going on in the world. It just makes my blood boil . I just wish someone could get these people off the air. Sorry for the long rant. It just breaks my heart when I see things like this .

As it should, God bless you.

The church needs righteous anger to get the thieves, the false teachers, the false prophets, and the merchandisers of the flock out of our churches.

We will be held accountable.

No, they (CRI) are not Word of Faith. They are a Christian apologetics ministry.

Didn't they have some fall out a few months ago in the leadership of ORU? I am not sure if I am confusing them with a Charismatic college in Florida, I will need to check my notes.

But if you do know, please post it.

We are seeing more and more an acceptance of heretical Word of Faith teachings in mainline denominational church circles recently. Doctrines that promote a wildly distorted perception of what it means to be a Christian.

The growing influence of the Word of Faith movement is one of the greatest threats to Christianity from within. I am especially concerned by the striking similarity between occult ideas popularized by secular authors like Rhonda Byrne, author of The Secret, and the writings of mega-church and TV preacher Joel Osteen.

Although Byrne and Osteen have noteworthy differences, they agree that you are the Master of the Universe, and the Genie is there to serve you.

For Bryne, the Genie is the 'law of attraction'. For Joel Osteen, it is the Word of Faith. Osteen writes, "The moment you speak something out, you give birth to it. This is a spiritual principle, and it works whether what you are saying is good or bad, positive or negative."

In Word of Faith theology, this principle is supposedly so powerful that even God is bound by it. But to make this point, Word of Faith teachers have to twist God's Word. For instance, Osteen claims that "Scripture tells us that we are to 'call the things that are not as if they already were.'"

However, Romans 4:17 says that it is actually God - not us - "who calls things that are not as though they were."

Tragically, Joel Osteen isn't the only Word of Faith teacher who twists Scripture in order to advance dangerous doctrines. A host of prominent preachers have employed similar techniques and they are plunging Christianity into an ever-deepening crisis.

People flock to Word of Faith churches because they are drawn to the promise of unparalleled prosperity and good health. But they don't see that people have swallowed the cyanide and are now sick and dying because the promises are empty.

Word of Faith teachers operate using the outward trappings of Christianity and millions have fallen for a shell of the truth, stuffed with a lie.
