No offense, friend, but I'm still not seeing the connection between the circumference of circles and God's Truth.

Doc65 -> RE: The Pied Piper was ILLUMINATI! (3/31/2008 10:27:13 PM)

I like pie, especially dutch apple pie. Pies are round. Is this the connection? And there was 4 and 20 blackbirds baked in a pie...perhaps there's some relevance to both birds that are black and the number 24...[sm=wink.gif]

Hey! When did the thread title change?

I think he's a member of the Sarcastic.

I have moments...sorry. [:o]

I just don't know how to reason about the value of pi having deep spiritual meaning.

Hey, Amy!

Perhaps, I can help you out here. You see, the life cycle is continuous until Christ returns, and pi helps us to understand our worth in the here and now.

Historically, we know that circumference (the thread of a life) is equal to pi * diameter (the race from life to death when we disregard spirituality). In essence, using a mathematical formula to extrapolate the value of life, it becomes clear the the answer is zero. We are worthless! [:(]

Did that help??! [sm=rollingeyes.gif][sm=rollingeyes.gif][sm=rollingeyes.gif]

I think someone needs to give the Pied Piper his pipe back. . .

Based on your answer, I would say you have a practical mind. Perhaps too literal for some pure mathematicians. They never feel the need to justify the beauty of their discoveries by sullying it with pragmatism.

As I have mentioned elsewhere, the toast given at the first meeting of the Royal Mathematical Society (in the 1800's) was:

"A Toast to Pure Mathematics, may it never be of any use to anyone!"

I'll drink to that. . .

ROFL@1love1God1way [:D]

"A Toast to Pure Mathematics, may it never be of any use to anyone!"

That being said, however, the playthings of such Ivory Tower Folks, often, unwittingly become the foundational tools of the next generation of movers and shakers.

Case in Point: Imaginary Numbers...

"The Square Root of Negative 1? - Who needs it?"

Yet, some thirty years after the mathematicians invented it, it has become the essential way of fully describing electric generator lines of force (force fields).

So I guess the Theorists have their place in God's plan too!!
[:D][:D][:D][:D]

1love1God1way -> RE: The Pied Piper was ILLUMINATI! (4/2/2008 11:19:14 AM)

I, for one, use the square root of negative pi on a daily basis.

amyk -> RE: The Pied Piper was ILLUMINATI! (4/2/2008 1:50:00 PM)

I think I prefer discussing the spiritual lessons to be learned from the pied piper than discussing mathematics! Speaking of that, I do know an old Petra song called "Pied Piper" which is about the devil leading people astray and "putting a tickle in their ear".

amyk..

well I can see when the SPIRITUAL significance of the fairy tale, Pied Piper, is compared to a discussion regarding electronic force fields, there is no contest as to which is more meaningful.

AND, in addition, your comment draws us closer to the OP (which saves the mods the trouble)...

SO....

I would like to get right at it by suggesting that there are DIRECT parallels between the story of the Three Little Pigs and the Pied Piper...

The Wolf is represented by the Piper,

The Woodsman is represented by the pig with the house of sticks, because sticks are made of wood....

The Grandmother is CERTAINLY the pig with the house of straw, because it is a well known fact that old people used straw in the mattresses of the bed in that era - especially in Bavaria, where the story originates...

and...etc. Hey you are RIGHT this is SO MUCH MORE ... um... DEEP!

ta_mosquito -> RE: The Pied Piper was ILLUMINATI! (4/2/2008 10:53:13 PM)

Uhh... OldMethu - you're comparing The Three Little Pigs to Red Riding Hood, not to the Pied Piper.

oldmethuselah -> RE: The Pied Piper was ILLUMINATI! (4/2/2008 10:55:25 PM)

Tricia,

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

You see how these deep discussion befuddle the old mind! ROFL

ta_mosquito -> RE: The Pied Piper was ILLUMINATI! (4/2/2008 11:00:44 PM)

I was thinking earlier how the two words in the title of the story both start with PI, and how it's pretty cool how that tied into the math. Does this somehow prove the story is prophetic?

Here we go again!!

oldmethuselah -> The TRUTH Revealed! (4/3/2008 10:25:31 PM)

As Tricia has so cleverly pointed out the transcendental number PI is hidden in BOTH of the words PIed PIper!

This delightful truth has caused a real "head banger" of an epiphany for me!

It's all to do with....

wait for it....

CROP CIRCLES!

I am NOT going off on a TANGENT!

Have you never heard of Noah's ARC?

I told my wife, but SECANT seem to grasp it! She just thinks it's CIRCULAR reasoning!

Personally, I think it is a SINE of the times!

I realize some people are DIAMETRICALLY opposed to this...

but that is only a certain SECTOR of the population!

I can assure you there are MANY that do believe, why within a RADIUS of just a few miles...

I can find a CIRCLE of friends who ENCOMPASS every strata of society!

ta_mosquito -> RE: The Pied Piper was ILLUMINATI! (4/3/2008 10:50:30 PM)

Groooooooan!

I volunteer at a high school, teaching 4 grade 10 students in math 2 days a week. Today we worked on cosines. So I'm right in there with ya! [8D]

Gee - we've kinda hijacked this thread. I winder if Imwal is going to come back to it...
