How about.....I'm sure that if you had a better mastery of communication that would have sounded more like the compliment you meant it to be.

Okay, no. I'm too tired to make it work either.

Hey, that's pretty good! Must be that sassy new hair cut.

Blue, you wanna take PG for your new nickname?

So does that mean you DO like Star Wars?

Um, well, no, I do not like Star Wars. I used to when they first came out in 1978 and it was the latest and greatest, but the story line got really boring after the first one, well I guess that would really be story 4. I tried to like it, I really did, but that Story 1 with that Jar Jar Binks about put me over the edge.

Episode 1 (which I think of as Star Wars 4) was my least favorite. I liked the next two, despite the fact that the selection of the actors playing Obi Wan Kenobe and Anikan Skywalker as young men were possibly the worst casting decisions ever.

I wholeheartedly agree with this part. However, I'd swoon over Ewan McGregor no matter what role he was in. He's one of only a handful of actors whose real name I actually know.

I like both Star Trek and Star Wars but my kids aren't impressed with Star Trek.

OH! Last summer I dated a real, honest-to-goodness Trekkie. No kidding. Went to the conventions, met "Bones" (I don't know his real name), told me he had all kinds of Star Trek paraphernalia in his house. Even read William Shatner's books! How much more dedicated can ya be?

Oh, and Good Morning, Everyone!

It did take me a minute to come up with a snarky comeback for that thread, but here goes.

Yes I am a pearl grabber. I'm doing my best to keep from casting them in certain bad places. Now can I have my pearls back please?

James, sounds like you know what it means. 3 of us (including blue) have no idea. What does it mean?

I took it to mean in his view she was grabbing at pearls in this situation (i.e. trying to make something important out of an unimportant issue). I'm not going to add my $.02 there because I understand that while some issues may not be important to me, they are important to someone else. Doesn't mean either of us is wrong. Just that our views are different.

Naturally, I had to twist the meaning just a bit.

I still do not quite understand the Snarky thread yet. Now is that given people permission to post a sassy post at someone in a different thread without actually confronting the person, as to circumvent TOS?

BTW, good morning Everyone!

I just found out that pearl grabber is a reference to testicles. He thinks I am a dude, or that I am accosting someone else's.

I may not have that part of the anatomy, but I do possess a brain. Unlike several who post regularly in current events.

I was reading that thread (and agreeing with you) but I just didn't feel up to weighing in today. I was disappointed in the posts of a couple of people whom I really like, admire, and respect.

I was also a bit surprised, but am shocked at some posts that are just ignoring reality. I suppose not everyone grew up seeing those types of caricatures or hearing those remarks in that genre. It is offensive. The town it happened in is not backwater farming community. I had friends who lived there, it is a very large town that blends into Atlanta, Ga.!

Nah, it's just for fun. To come up with snarky things to say that will make everyone laugh. Or to package snarkiness up in such eloquence that it doesn't sound snarky. The first time you read it.

Plus, it's a good place to drop something you'd like to say elsewhere and then let it go instead of fretting about whatever got your goat or posting something you'll regret in a serious thread. Make sense?

I would never try to circumvent TOS!

There are just so many things careening around my head about that I hardly know where to begin.

I guess I'll start with........those are called PEARLS????? Boy, somebody's sure full of himself.

And it puts a whole new spin on casting them before swine to be trampled.

Now, I'm going to work, catch y'all later!

That's got to be a TOS of some kind.

OK, I guess I am not all that good at snarkiness then, although I do like my comment that I actually posted in the legalizing marijuana thread a few years back, where I mentioned that the law would never get passed because those who wanted to legalize it would be too high to ever show up at the voting booths.

I have been referred to as the Mistress of Snarkiness.

In modesty, I have to defer that title to several people who are MUCH more worthy of it.

You're just too sweet to be snarky, Mike. (Actually, I'm not good at it either, but that's because I'm just not witty enough; I SO love reading the snarks in that thread, though!)

I never would have guessed that. I thought it meant the casting pearls before swine thing.

So far today I've gone to work, worked the concession stand at the softball fields, mowed the yard (in between raindrops), dropped the kids off where they are building canoes with the youth group, got gas, got groceries.

Good heavens! It's obviously time for a nap!

Here's what the sign at my old church says now:

God supplies our needs
not our greeds.

The nice thing about being the Mistress of Snarkiness (as opposed to the Queen or Czarina) is that there can be many Masters and Mistress' of Snarkiness in Snarkdom.
