I think it's suppose to mean they are being obtuse.

It's a Christian insult.

Ned Flanders is a Christian character on the Simpsons, and he is a stereotypical caricature of how the world views Christian fundamentalism. It reinforces the general view that Christians are stupid and simplistic and closed-minded.
Oh you mean that's not how we're really supposed to be.
Fiddle.

I've goofed.

Only if your right.

Believe me this is way better than "Mom can we go for sushi" She's 13. When we pass the fish counter at the grocery, she breaths in and says "oh that smells soooo good."

Yeah, the grocery budget isn't complaining. Fish - well, good fish - can be rather pricey. I take it you don't care for fish?

I used to have a roommate, and we would go grocery shopping together sometimes, and every single time we passed the fish counter, she would start to gag. I always forgot (honestly, I did forget) that she had this little, uh, issue, and I always laughed hysterically at her.

Course, there was the time she got me back by goosing me at the check out line and everyone in the store heard me scream. She has never let me live that down. Friends, gotta love em.

Am I the only one confused by all the pictures of The Other Sam?

Welcome back from vacation Sam the Man!!!

I am not close-minded.

HA! Good one!

And remember folks, important safety tip.....

If you're too open minded, your brains might fall out.

I love fish....I am eating some right now? Just don't like it raw.

About the Avi's I was a little cornfuzzled at first. Now I just look at their names instead.

Thank you Cranky! I was hoping someone here would know.

I wonder why they hardly ever have shows that present Christians in a positive light.

My middle child loved Emeril when he was 10-12. We'd sit down several times a week to watch. Now he's just a gamer.

But we did hear that some guy who plays the same game (counter strike) has made millions $$$. I told him I want him to quit school, we'd move to town so he could have a decent internet connection (we only have 1.5m) and he could take care of Larry and I in our old age. He didn't go for it. Not only that but if he did he'd keep his millions to himself, the ungrateful child.

Tinkerbell, I love you geek stories.

(edited for horrendous grammar)

ROFLOL!

I'm still trying to get my nerve up to go over into the Women's chat thread and post the following, in conjunction with Sam's avatar:

Girls, can we be real here for a moment? Let's just have a group hug before anything else. I don't know what's wrong with me but I feel SO emotional right now. It's like one minute I want to cry and the next minute I want to scream. And don't any of you ladies jump on me and tell me its PMS; you know how much that will hurt my feelings. And I just know that this skirt I'm wearing today makes my rear end look HUGE; people are probably laughing at me behind my back. I just want to be held right now. Maybe I should just go to the ladies room and have a good cry. I hope I don't smudge my eye makeup, though.

First of all, here's hugs
((((((((((SharMar))))))))))

Second, no woman with any sense would use those 3 letters in front of a woman who is obviously feeling things deeply right now. We know.
Third, if the skirt is going to be that way who needs it. LOL.
I've never done a fourth so I won't start now, but for me right now a good cry is always the right answer. Go for it. Hey I'll even cry with you. I have plenty of reasons. Hang on, let me pick one.
Okay got it!

oooh cookies! Sam, maybe I can be bribed afterall.

{{{Nadine!!!}}}

Your post brought both smiles and tears to my eyes.

And now I think I must apologize for not making myself clearer . . . I'm not feeling any of that today; I'm just in a sneaky and fiesty mood and want to use my avatar (of male Sam) and go post that post over there with all that next to his picture.

But I am incredibly deeply touched by your words of encouragement; you are truly so sweet and kind.

Now . . . about the reasons for crying . . . anything you want to talk about (either here or via PMs?) I'll be glad to listen.

Another important announcement from your friendly moderator...

After yesterday's stalking incident I'd just like to remind you all that if you see a TOS violation in the threads, be it language, harassment or whatever, please file a ticket on it. We can't be everywhere, we get hundreds if not a thousand posts a day and we just can't be everywhere and depend on you to help us keep forums safe. Sometimes we'll even be in the thread but if we skim we may miss something. I've seen threads in feedback where someone will complain about how they got tos'd for something but someone else got by with it, and we don't mean for that to happen. Thanks!
