I posted one second before you did.

I think GroupW could tell us what it means. I see his handle up there.

Nope. No idea. (Like most everywhere else, I only pretend to know things here.)

Really? I don't remember you ever using it (I can only think of a few that do) but for some reason I thought you were young and "with it", and knew all sorts of lingo. I really don't have any idea why I thought that though.

(and I think I better qualify that I didn't mean that I thought you might know in a nasty or sarcastic way)

Same here. It just looks, oh, I don't know, obnoxious?

Oh fiddle; you've been seeing right through me all along.

I don't know about BT, but I don't think I've ever been young and with it. Young, yes. With it? HA!

What a great site that is, Lioness! (By the way, I'm probably the only one who actually prefers the lion you had previously. Oh well. This lioness is nice too.)

As for marking Bibles, I used to also feel that I just couldn't do it. But not doing it wasn't helping me to remember things, or have things at the ready when I needed them to refer to. At some point, I had a conversation with someone (and I honestly don't remember who) and we decided that the Bible is the Word of God, it isn't a "thing". Time was, that "thing", was very, very precious and hard to come by, so that "thing" was guarded and kept very pristine. Nowadays, those "things" are easier to get, it's still the Word of God, and if marking it will help it help me, then why not?

As to the bolded statement, me too, I had all of my Salvation and Roman road scriptures highlighted in Blue so I could turn right to them. I get a little nervous and flustered when I witness and I often forget scripture references so I made sure I could find them easily.

I think it's suppose to be some sort of insult, like "that is such a ned flanders remark". I think it loses something since the intended target probably has no clue what he means either.

Oh ... the Simpsons.

It was funny when it was a little skit on the British comedian chick's show ... Tracy Ullman ... but it has gone seriously downhill. Why do people think acting idiotic and moronic is funny?

I don't get it. Why would someone WANT to intentionally act like that? Much less have people THINK that about them?

It's a mystery to be sure.

I've never watched it either. I never let the kids watch it till they got to be like late teens, so Lindsay still doesn't. She likes good shows anyway, like LOST.

I wasn't "with it" when I was young. Now I'm old as dirt and still a dork.

Dorks rule! Think about it - does Bill Gates look like one of the "cool kids"?
Edit: And come to think of it, Warren Buffett's glasses are geekness personified.

Hey, I'm the state advisor for Brain Bowl (academic team for community colleges in FL). I don't look like a geek, but I sure feel like one most of the time!

True - the well honored tradition of geekness is more of a state of mind.

You know, we went to Thing 1's academic achievement ceremony a while back and I'd say 3 out of 4 of the boys who were awarded the Straight A honours were the little geeks. Cracks me up because Thing 1 is a little geek (and he says it proudly too).

I commented on it to him later that night and he said, "That's right, Geek Today; World Emperor Tomorrow."

I'll bet those ladies that thought Bill Gates was "Such a geek!" are kicking themselves now.
