Ladies,

Do you find a man that has common male pattern baldness with the horseshoe hairline to be more attractive if he shaves off his remaining hair?

It depends on the guy. The guy I'm talking to has the horseshoe hairline and has talked about shaving his head. I think he's cute just the way he is. I find bald men attractive.

Only if the only other choice is a "come over"... those are nasty.

Being bald is not a bad thing, imo.

Either shave it or keep it closely trimmed. If you start looking like Bozo or that guy on Scrubs, chances are your attractiveness factor will dip. Also, never comb over. Never. Ever.

I agree! Comb-overs are the worst!! My hubby's horseshoe hairline does not bother me in the least.

Yeah, I actually think the horseshoe hairline trimmed nicely is better than shaving the whole head bald. Something about shaving the whole head just doesn't do it for me... so unless a guy has really "patchy" hair or something, just keep it trimmed and neat. Having hair or not having hair isn't what makes a man attractive or not, at least not to me.

I agree with you ladies about the come-over. My dad used to do that and it looked terrible. I shave my head once a week to keep it very short. My wife doesn't like it though. She likes it longer. About 1/2" - 3/4" long. I don't like it that long. I think it makes me look like my grandfather. I just hate being bald. My wife doesn't care that I am bald, but I still feel self conscious about it. Even in front of men. Especially if they aren't bald.

I'm sure its a difficult step in your life, but you should know women tend to like it. There's something very powerful about the human skull. There's enough young guys doing it on purpose nowadays to channel that.

Personally I agree with Stellaluna. Well-trimmed or shaved looks the best.

I have known a few guys with longer that looked fine, but it seemed to come as a package with a beard or a hippie personality so it worked.

I don't think it hurts to let it grow out a bit to your wife's liking once and awhile. Maybe she'll notice and be appreciative.

Many bald men can be very attractive. Depends on the guy.

Am I the only one noticing this trend? I went to my HS reunion and was surprised at all the bald heads I saw. I'd be surprised if that many had male pattern baldness.

I agree that many bald men can be very attractive, and I too notice the trend for the bald heads... the totally shaved head trend though, I'm just not too crazy about it most some guys. My 30 yo son does this and I hate it .

Like the others have said, it depends on the guy.

I live in a military area and see bald heads everywhere. Sometimes it looks good. Other times, not so much.

But as for me, I like mah fella with some hair in his head.

My husband has plenty of hair, but he shaves it all off and I think it's incredibly handsome. (Well, actually I shave it all off for him.)

Depends on the shape of the head. Men with oddly shaped or lumpy heads or particularly prominent ears really shouldn't go for the completely bald look. There is nothing inherently unnatractive about a horseshoe hairline anyway! I agree that comb-overs are horrendous though.

YES!

I find bald, shaved head men very very very beautiful and atractive and my strong preference regarding what goes or not goes in a man's head.

sorry for my stravaganza but bald is just awesome to me.

I'm glad that so many women feel this way. It brings comfort to me, a 21 year old with an increasingly thin and receding hairline. . .

i didn't really care for bald heads. But the guy I'm going out with later today is bald. Go figure....

Is there a difference between bald and totally shaved?

"Bald" is usually the natural falling out of hair.
"Shaved" are bald men that way because of a razor.

Mac!!! So very good to see you.

I have found that my tastes in men's hair is very eclectic. I like long hair, short hair, no hair. Curly, wavy or straight. Pretty much any color, although I do have some "personal favorites".

Is it kempt? That's what makes it or breaks it with me as far as whether I consider it nice to look at.

And yeah . . . the combovers are always pretty much an ewww factor.
