I used to eat an apple a day, sometimes more, but they're not always good down here in the Summer. I love the granny smith apples - so perfectly tart! I cut them in half, take out the core, and fill 'em with peanut butter. Mmmmmmm. Sure, I'll join you!

I like Galas with peanut butter. Deeeee-lish!

For those of you eating the apple/day, don't forget about coring them & baking them with cinnamon and spices for a dessert.

Yea, I will join in with the apples Campaign. Funny I've got the Granny smith for 2 weeks and I haven't touched them.

Folks I need your encouragement since I prefer muffins over fruits.

One of the doctors I work with has lost 17 lbs. in the last 17 days, simply by eating the anti-inflammatory diet--which is really simple. Eat vegetation, and animals that eat vegetation. He has lean meat (from pastured, not grainfed beef and chicken), fruits and vegetables, and eggs and dairy from pastured (not grain fed) sources. NO REFINED FOODS!!!!! He feels fabulous.

Is it just me, or is anyone else getting cravings for salads as the weather warms up?

Oh I get cravings for salads through the year... I just can't wait to have home-grown salads

Right now, my cravings are being met by all the very seasonal blood oranges that I bought yesterday

I love the colour... I have to admit, I find it funny that some shops are now calling them 'blush' oranges! Interestingly, not all varieties of blood/blush orange have the red pigmentation, though they taste as a blood/blush one does.

I prefer them to ordinary oranges.

Harvie, am I right in thinking you're going away for a couple of weeks soon?

I never thought they they were being PC about the name, just that it was a sales gimmick ~ too many have been put off by the name 'blood' oranges! 'Blush' is far more saleable!

I guess I don't see the difference between "Sales gimmick" and "politically correct." I understand what you are saying, quite clearly... it's just that in my mind those two things are just different names for the same thing. To me, one is just the jargon used in marketing and the other is its equivalent in political jargon.
