I like Marlee too -- more than Shannon and Marissa. Marissa...way too perky for me. She reminds me of a cousin when she had too much coffee.

Ok, Shannon must be really easy to forget because I can't even remember which one/who she is! Is she the one who dances with that young blond guy?

Marissa is quite annoying with her "perk." She is so perky that it seems fake to me. But I do think she tries hard and I feel like because she isn't thin she gets lower votes; which isn't fair. And I feel like because Marlee is deaf she gets higher votes (than she deserves); which isn't fair either.

Maybe they'll both get voted off and it won't be an issue for me
anymore. lol

I don't think Marlee is getting sympathy votes, I think it's her personality that's likeable. Remember Heather Mills - no sympathy there.

I think Marissa is just so thrilled to be on the show that she just bubbles. (but it does get annoying) She said she's watched it from the beginning. I did feel sorry for her last week (cannot remember the dance), because she has such short legs she couldn't do the side kicks and it wasn't as impressive. I just don't like Tony for some reason.

I do think judging by the dance and the comments made that the judges gave Marlee way to high of marks. We were stunned she got so high. I do think it's because of her disability.

Heather Mills did get sympathy votes last year. I didn't like it then, and I don't like it now for Marlee. To Marlee's credit, she knew she did not do a good job.

Priscilla leaving was the right call.

Shannon might be next since she has no stamina. They have to get through two dances next week and I believe every week after that. I don't see her being able to handle that. I like Marissa-and she is in better cardio shape than Shannon.

I'm happy for Marissa and think she's doing a great job. I was a dancer at one time....the largest in my troupe by far...with short, stocky, legs, so I know what it's like. When you don't have the extension it's hard to "look" right.

I like her perk. I think she's genuine and reminds me of me when I'm singing.

I think considering, Marlee is doing fine, though because of her disability, her musicality suffers...just the fact of the matter.

Priscilla SO needed to go. She should invest some of Elvis' money in a botox company...

Shannon is pretty good...just has little endurance.

I'm glad Marissa and Marlee are in this competition, not because both of them has an disavantage (Marlee's deafness and Marissa is not normal sized) but both of them are showing America that real people can dance and can endure in this competion too.

Secondly, as for the issue of sympathy votes, I don't think this is the case because both are doing a excellent job outhere.

Tonight was the first time that I agreed with the judges assessment of the couples (except for Karina and Mario). They were right on the money with everyone else though. Marlee can not handle the fast paced latin dances. And their dance did look forced and akward.

Shannon can not do the hip action that is required for some of the Latin dances. I also think she got a gift in that her couple dance was slow-cause if it had been fast the group dance would not have been good for her.

Karina and Mario-how many times have the judges said that people were not passionate enough in the rhumba-yet he thought these two were too passionate?

Gald Kristi finally got her 30! It was well deserved. And Marissa and Christian did great with their Vienesse waltz and fox trot, respectively.

I think Marlee might be going home-her or Shannon.

I think it may be Marlee or Shannon, too, but surprises have been known to happen.

I thought Marissa was really great last night. She deserved those nines! Kristi is our other favorite because she is just such a good dancer and a pleasant person.

I'm getting a little frustrated with the questions and comments of the hosts. Sometimes the questions are just too silly. (You seemed really excited out there. Were you?) And sometimes they ask the same question of the same couple too many times.

I like that the couples can comment on their scores, and maybe that's all they should do - comments only, no questions.

I counted at least 3 lifts.

you know you can watch it online, right? that's what i have to do most the time. i'm glad we're finally getting down to the nitty-gritty! this is my first time chiming in here, so here goes...

jason and edyta's cha-cha was great! he's not perfect in form, but he puts it out there and you can tell he's having fun! and this week he didn't just let her do all the fancy footwork. he even did a pretty good cartwheel in the country dance number. lol

shannon and derek's rumba - oyyyy...send the girl home. even in this slow dance, she is so stiff...and she just isn't learning how to extend and make a pretty line with those long legs. i won't even mention that the girl can't move her hips. it's just painful to watch her struggle.

marlee and fabian's mambo - she's been a great inspiration and more power to her, but it is a competition...and she unfortunatly misses some of the technical things due to her hearing loss. but man...what a fighter, huh?! after shannon, she should go next (IMHO).

cristian and cheryl's foxtrot was FABULOUS! he really enjoys dancing, it seems. and he was soooo smoothe this week.

marissa and tony's viennese waltz - it was wonderful! perky or not...the girl came through here. she DID look like a princess...perfect footwork and beautiful arms. tony was never one of my favs, but he has gained huge points for how well he has worked with her. what woman wouldn't want to have just ONE dance like this in her life? sigh....

kristi and mark's jive...is there ANY doubt they will win this season?! she nails everything...footwork, arms, facial expressions, everything! it is a joy to watch them dance! she earned that 30!!

mario and karina's rumba - i know the boy has the moves, but they just went overboard on the sex-appeal. but you gotta admire his ability!

I'm sad to see Marlee go, but I was confident this would be her week.

Shannon....she just doesn't do it for me. I think the votes are coming in for Derek, not her. He's just ADORABLE.

I'm so for Marissa----do it for the big girls, baby!!!! She's fantastic and I'm so proud of her!

I think Kristi has a HUGE advantage over everyone else simply because the movements and extensions required for ballroom are similarly required for icedancing. With the exception of the footwork (and I didn't know she was born with club feet) she had already mastered all those technical parts that others have difficulty with.

I'm sure she'll win, but I would feel a little jipped if I were the other celebs.

That's not what the judges commented on, though.

Sunshine,

Yes Kristi does have the advantage, but she was not an ice dancer. She was a pairs figure skater with the emphasis on jumps and spins and gave that up to be a singles skater.

So she did not know ballroom and latin dances-something she herself said at the beginning.

I'll miss Marlee, but she did great. Next week will really show the difference in the couples, since they will be learning two dances.

yes...also, I haven't watched every show this round, so I don't know if her disability has come up, but she was born with a club foot....so I am sure there are some things in the dancing that she is having to really overcome to really step out there and do the best that she is doing. I remember them talking about her feet though when she was in her Olympic days, and hearing all she had to go through to get to even where she was then. I can imagine that it isn't something that she doesn't struggle with in this competition also.

I thought it was the best jive that has ever been done on the show.

I wasn't surprised that Marlee went home - it seemed to me that it got to the point where she couldn't keep up.

I wasn't impressed with the group dance. It was so chaotic that it was like watching a three-ring circus - I didn't know where to look next.

I was a little annoyed with all of the women's costumes that looked like pieces of bedsheets tied on over bikinis.

I got to see that dance on the results show; I didn't care for it either, for the same reasons you gave.

Ack! I had taped the show but it cut off right as Jason was listening to the judges comments after his paso doble. Did they say anything pertinent? I figured they would dock him for a lift since Edyta's feet were both off the floor at the same time when he twirled her around. What were his scores for that dance? Did anything else happen at the end besides the usual recap and judge's leader board?

I felt so bad for Cristian. He's not been one of my favorites, but I almost cried at his disappointment. I thought what he did before he obviously began having problems was better than a 7.

Of the ones left, I think Shannon should be the next to go. She's coming along, but they're right, there is a bit of awkwardness in her moves. She's stiff sometimes and not as fluid. I liked her ok but she seemed a little whiny last week.

Carrie Ann still gave Jason a 9. So that lift cost them a 10 from her. If I remember correctly, Len gave him an 8 and Tony gave a 9.

Ah, that's a reason I don't watch it for now. One thing I can say is I don't think Nicholas Smith (of the Palmetto Opera) would have allowed such costuming at a recent ballroom dance benefit to raise funds for the young opera company's plan for a Don Pasquale[/i[ benefit. The ballroom outfits are clearly over the edge, and someone needs to tone it down.

Actually, those costumes are the toned down versions. There's a whole lot more skin showing in the pro competitions, and what isn't showing is barely covered. On both sexes.

If Shannon and Derek make it past tonight then the person who said they're still there because of Derek has it nailed. She's trying hard, but just isn't graceful enough to go any further.

I couldn't believe Shannon told the whole world that she was wearing a "fake butt." That's TMI in my opinion.

I was really disappointed for Kristi on her waltz, and I thought Cristian deserved better than 7s -- I was surprised when he got those.
