I need to enjoy these days because soon enough it will be -10.

It's raining pretty good right now. We really need it; all the grass is brown.

I heard that. We were a/c-less for a few weeks. That was SO uncool (in more ways than one).

((((James)))))
We are suppose to stay muggy most of this week. I have my AC but it can't keep up real well with continuous days and not cool enough nights.

Yeah, I know, but you gave him "the look" LOL!

Hi Scrubby! Hi EVERYONE!

James, I have another small one that I could put in the bedroom window to help the other one that is in the living room but I have to dig it out sorta. It's small enough I think I can do it on my own. But it will wait for now as it's storming pretty good here right now.

He's lucky that's all he got for messing with me at 5:30 in the morning!

Sharon, do you have window units instead of central air? I remember one we had in a little house we rented when we were first married. We could freeze ourselves out in the two rooms it blew into!

James, thanks that you would help if you were closer. I would have to clean the house first though before I would let you in LOL!!

Karlie, this year I bought one of those portable ACs that sit on the floor and vent out the window. Problem is, it's only 9,000 BTU. So on the hotter more humid days, it is able to get up to nearly 78 in the house. I fan the air from living room to kitchen.
If I put the smaller one in in the bedroom, that will help a lot. As it is now, I don't dare cook anything on the stove or in the oven.
It is comfortable enough for just sitting around watching tv or at the computer though so I will survive.

Mine's mostly clutter right now. I did get a bunch of stuff sorted out this weekend so I am making a little progress. I had to go looking of my receipt from when I spent the 4 thousand on the car engine in January and had to have a rental car. The rental car company sent me a collection notice, 5 months later mind you, informing me that since the company that did the work and arranged for the rental hadn't paid, that I who signed for the car am responsible. HA!
All sorted out by the way after a trip to the garage that did my car. Anyway, as long as I had to find that receipt I thought I might as well sort a bunch of other stuff too.

Now wasn't that exciting??

I did take my son and daughter-in-law out to eat last night and we had good food and good conversation.

Hey Guys!

My dad is having eye surgery to remove cataracts this morning...apparently they are pretty severe. I'd appreciate prayers that it goes smoothly. Thanks!

Having had eye surgery before I have a soft spot for people having their eyes worked on.

I've never had eye surgery...the very idea creeps me out. I'd have to be knocked out and restrained, I think! They say his surgery is pretty intense, so they are hoping he doesn't lose his sight in that eye. He has to have the other eye done next month, but it's not as severe.

Praying here too Karlie. My mom has had several types of surgery on her eyes, but I never have and it "creeps" me out too!

Praying! The only comment I've heard from people who've had cataract surgery is they wish they'd done it sooner.

Thanks for the prayers. Mom called and it went okay, as far as they know. He has a check up in the morning to check his vision. Of course, Dad thinks he should be seeing perfectly clear less than 2 hours after the surgery and is worried Mom said he's got a patch on for the night and sleeping now. Apparently they ended up giving him general anesthesia, but not to the point of total being completely asleep.

I worked for an opthalmologist once who did corrective surgery for kids with crossed or wall-eyes. He had me watch a video of one of the surgeries....... I didn't last 5 minutes.
