I saw something that just screamed "Karlie" at me today.

Here is the link. The little sign on the bottom reads "Life is too short for sensible shoes"
Fiddle. I can't see it. I've tried 3 times and only the very top "business" portion of the site loads. The rest of the page is blank.

Here is another link ma'am.....I copied it from my junk email.

Very cool! Gotta love those long weekends. They sure mean more when I'm in school than in the summer though.

Karlie, that boot looks like it's a cross between something you would see on Mod Squad and Love, American Style.

Hey Steve! I read in the Ramblin thread that you have off completely today!! YAY!
Or, um, wait a minute... was that you YOU are complete off today?

JUST KIDDING!!

Oh and that you would like to see the Twilight Zones. I have TCM on right now and they are going to do Alfred Hitchcock stuff today.
What I really want to do though is go get the DVD of "The Bucket List" and watch that something this weekend.

I would say both of those statements are accurate, Sharon.

I'm trying to motivate myself to do something. I could do some yard work or start on a paper I have to write.

I liked Alfred Hitchcock too. Good thing I don't have cable, or I would be parked in front of the TV all day.

Yeah, like I should talk about anyone else being "off" LOL! Plus I messed up the grammar in that post.

So! What else can I be lazy at? It's beautiful out right now. Sunny and all. Someone in the area is impatient for fireworks as I have been hearing some stuff going off in the surrounding neighborhoods already. Sheeeesh. Sparklers in broad daylight. How pretty.

It's sunny and about 70 something right now. Gorgeous. Maybe I will work outside for a while.

Someone was shooting off fireworks last night after 11:00. It's really annoying when they do it that late, not to mention they are illegal.

I think I'm feeling "snarky" today!

Too lazy to go to the snarky thread though. I'll just stay here in Karlie's thread for that. LOL!

Yeah, there is a bevy of people around me that shoot off the illegal stuff. Owell. They get away with it every year.

Somebody was shooting off stuff already on Monday this week. THAT annoyed me at midnight!

Hopefully no more illegal fireworks, and especially not at inappropriate times.

Yay!

It's a cool day here today...I'm stunned! It may not reach 90 with the breeze and cloud cover we have. Nice night for fireworks. We're still deciding if we want to go join friends there or be lazy and stay home.

I guess sales of fireworks have dropped big time this year. The governor asked people not to set them off, but go to the public displays instead because of all the fires already going. I'm betting it has more to do with gas prices and people not having the extra for fireworks rather than them caring about fires.

I have a family reunion to go to tomorrow. Mom forgot to tell me about it til this week. Oy. Oh well, it's at a nice park, so if the cool weather holds, it should be nice out. WHN gave me a panicked look and said "don't make me go" LOL!

Not reaching 90 around here would not constitute "cool" but for you guys, I am happy you are getting a break from the high temps you have been having. It's suppose to get to mid 80s here tomorrow. Too warm for me, but if the dew point stays down and there's a breeze I should be okay. I am already goofed up about the days of the week. It feels like it should be Sunday tomorrow.

Just got the following in email from Angie. I'm so glad she sent one. I know she won't know the results for a couple of days but still I wanted to hear from her. I will be calling her tomorrow as it's her 40th Birthday. So here is what she sent....
quote:

I got through another CAT scan OK yesterday. I am very allergic to the IV dye so I have to take steroids 12 hours and 2 hours before the test.
I sneezed twice this time and the nurses got concerned. I was OK. I felt, not so good, for the rest of the day.
Having all that dye and contrast medium in your system makes the kidneys have to work hard to get rid of it. I was very tired. I'm feeling good today. We went to the parade this morning. It was great. The theme was "A Day at the Circus."
We're having some friends over this afternoon. The weather is cooperating nicely!

I need more info about the whole Dr. Phil thing. It's exciting to have a chance to bring more light to TNBC.

I didn't know until that email that she is allergic to the dyes.

lol! I actually told him he didn't have to go. I'd get out of it too if my mom wouldn't have a cow. This is her dad's side of the family and I hardly know any of them except for a couple of immediate cousins and my mom's brothers. Last summer we had a three day reunion with Mom's mother's side and he went all three days with me, so he gets a pass for this one!

It's been nice, relatively speaking, the last few days. But after today, we're heating back up...108 by Tuesday and they said the 110-112 days are just around the corner. Joy.

I have been working on cleaning the house and looking for a box of checks for over a week now. It is a square cardboard box with 4 boxes of checks. Ronnie said when I put them up I said I was going to put them somewhere 'safe'. Apparantly, they're so safe, I can't remember where where I put them. I'm doing pretty well at not freaking out about it. I mean, I know they'll turn up, but it is frustrating no less.

The house is getting nice and tidy during my search, though.

I think it has become less of a search and more of a mission now.

Oh yeah, Miss Evelyn lost her first tooth this morning. She's so excited, she had to call her Grandma and tell her all about it.
