I love the product... but hate taking it down when it hasn't been installed properly and living with some pattern that is ugly or outdated.

Hubby says I am not allowed to ever hang wallpaper. When we moved into our house he spent hours upon hours on a ladder with a sponge and a scraper removing an icky wallpaper border. He says I am NEVER EVER putting it up again!

Oh, this stuff is UBER ugly!!

So Saturday I started taking the paper off. It is coming off real well. I'll have to post some pics (left the camera at the house though). There are parts that look like there is only one layer of paper while other areas have multiple layers (and each layer underneath is just as ugly as the first). However we are finding more parts where the plaster is not in very good shape. I think once I get all the paper off I will have to re-evaluate whether or not to just hang 1/4 inch drywall over the plaster or if we can actually "patch" the spots.

Nicole, I am glad you guys decided what to do!

Oh, and I don't like wallpaper either. It is a pain in the buttinsky to put up and take down.

Erin, I feel exactly the way your husband does about wallpaper! I LOVE painting - you can be as creative as you want b/c if you don't like it, just repaint it!

Okay, I need some HELP!!!! Please give me some ideas - in our foyer under the stairs there is a large area with a short decorative curved wall that used to have some pretty rocks and plants in it. I had to remove all the rocks (torture) and plants because the cats thought it made a nice litter box. Anyway, now it is just a plywood floor. What can I put in there? I tried pine cones and fake plants for a quick fix, but it looks kind of silly.

What about a sculpture and something covering the plywood that complements the style of the scuplture? Maybe a scarf/ throw over the plywood? Or shells? Or a different type of rock that wouldn't attract your cats?

I wish the previous owner had continued the regular flooring into that area - then I could just have the little wall taken out. I do think a smooth rock would work (the old ones were the more "dusty" kind), but I don't want to spend a lot of money on whatever we do b/c eventually I'd like to put down wood floors throughout the downstairs anyway. The scarf or sheet idea might work - I hadn't thought of that. Maybe something pretty and sheer or satiny... good idea!

Since you really won't be using the fabric, something cheap would probably work. You don't need durability if it's just going to lay there- unless your cats think it's a good nest for them to nap in. You may need to get something that will hold up to washing and cat hair removal.

I am definitely a crazy pregnant lady!

DH and I went to Babies R Us today because I wanted to see all of the bedding/fabric/decorating stuff in person before definitely agreeing to go with it. The green and brown polka dot blanket was ok (not great, but ok) but we had a really hard time matching the green or brown with any other green or brown stuff there. Since we are praying to get most of the stuff off of our registry from showers, we were wanting to register for most of the stuff. Sooo, then I showed DH THIS set, which I had looked at before, and EmilyAnn also found. He liked that much better. While we were there we just registered for the different pieces individually. My thinking was people will be more likely to buy individual pieces that are cheaper rather than the more expensive set. But then I came home and started looking at it, and I can't get all that I want (especially the dust ruffle) separately. So I registered for the set. Plus some other individual things. Guess we'll see what happens. We did buy this BLANKET which happened to be on sale, so I can start looking at paint colors. But all of the other baskets and room decor in greens and browns (not part of the set) match really well too.

I hope I'm finally happy.

Okay my decorator friends, I am looking for something very specific and dont know where to look. I am looking for some artwork (preferably cheap) that is of a boy and his dog. Kind of country looking (you know, barefoot boy in overalls fishing with his dog for example). We find out soon if we are having a boy or a girl and if its a boy I want to hang prints like that on his wall. if its a girl I'd like something equivalent, just with a girl. Any suggestions where to look?? I KNOW its out there...

Now I dont know what I am going to do if this is a girl...I just have the perfect little boy vision in my head. I have this feeling...now ya'll dont laugh on June 3rd when I am on here looking for girly ideas!! But I have made a puppy dog quilt. The bedding is going to be yellow gingham. (I have some cute blue puppy dog fabric I'll do something with if he/she IS a he). But my "theme" is "Snips and Snails and Puppy Dog Tails". And those prints are cheap!! Cheaper than I expected!!

Oh my goodness I LOVE those prints!! I can't believe how affordable they are too.

I think I now have an idea for Levi's room when he outgrows the babyish stuff that's currently in there.

I like that boys theme, Erin!

You will still use the quilt if it's a girl? Little girls like dogs, too!!

Erin, I have an 11yo girl who thinks the best decoration in her room is the 70cm tall greyhound she sneaks in there every now and then.
