Status: online 		I can't really describe kakuro, since I never could get it. I shoulda mailed you the book instead of chucking it, but the thing just made me so darned mad! LOL I like to think that I hurt its feelings the same way it hurt my self-esteem.

Dollar General has kids sudoku, with ones that start out with only 4 squares and shapes instead of numbers. That's how Noah got started. He can do the regular easy ones now, sometimes with a tiny bit of help. It's great for them to build logic skills, I think.

Status: online 		I think kakaru is the one that looks sort of like a crossword puzzle and it tells you what each row has to add up to be or something like that.

LOL...yeah he has heard of that....and he stays far far away from it!!! It intrigues him, but he can barely figure out the regular 9 blocks in the easiest level...lol.

I am OCD, so I have issues with numbers and my mind, etc. I have to try very hard not to do that now with the numbers running through my mind from sukoku. When I was in high school I had a bad habit of breaking down everything people said in my mind and spelling out what they said as they were talking because my mind would get sooo bored. It took a lot of effort and years of working to break that habit, so I don't want to have to break another habit with numbers...but I HAVE to have something to do that is mentally challenging or I will go insane....yes really...I will go insane. I have found that the times after birth that I do puzzles and games I don't tend to get PPD as easily.

Status: online 		I can't always do puzzles, but I do think doing something mentally helps me and so will try them. Sometimes, like artemis, my eyes just can't deal with the boxes though. But then sometimes my eyes can't cope with reading forums either!

DH's grandfather is 83 or so, and he does a stack of sudoku puzzles every day to keep his mind sharp. It seems to be working well.

I like sudoku, logic puzzles, and sometimes crossword puzzles.

Status: offline 		I love puzzles of a lot of different kinds. My DH got me two huge books of Penny Press variety puzzles, and I've been really enjoying them. I voted crossword, word search, sudoku, other kind, and jigsaw puzzles. The "other kind" was for almost everything else that's in those variety puzzle books. We do jigsaw puzzles as a family sometimes, but we haven't done one in a while. Maybe it's time to start another one.

Status: online 		I like logic puzzles (best) and sudoku (second) and crosswords (third,) so I voted for those three things (logic=other .) I will do word searches and jigsaws, but they bore me a little. We don't get the paper, but if we ever do (like "free" in a hotel,) I do all the puzzles together w/ dh... but that's a rare occurance. Sometimes I will also do computer games that are in the puzzle or word game category, like Cubis, Text Twist or Tetris.
