Sarah, you all can keep that wind down there, I keep having to wipe Oklahoma dust off my furniture!

LOL...I don't know if it's cold here or not, I have refused to go outsdie cause it has been cold enough. For some reason, this pregnancy I am very VERY cold all the time...and I don't own a coat. I know, I lived in Germany so I should own one, but I have not been this cold natured since before all of my pregnancies!!! I used to be like this all the time though...before I got married I worked missions in Mexico and wore long sleeve flannel shirts often in the middle of summer. Growing up I was always cold...all the time. THEN pregnancy hit the first time and I went from cold all the time to hot all the time. Now I am back to being cold all the time though.

COLD today. All week it's getting cold enough at night that I need to leave the bathroom cold water dripping or else the pipes freeze and I have to go stand in the cold basement and run the blow dryer on the pipes to thaw them.

It is -3C right now. Nice and fresh! Most of our snow is gone... again. So our lucky dog gets to walk on dirt again.

new poll question...
#3...When you write, which method do you use (mult chc)

ALL CAPS
all lower caser
Combo Of Caps and Lower Case
All Cursive
All Print
Combination of Cursive and Print
I don't write, I type everything
I only use Pencil
I only use Pen
I use whatever is available (crayion, lipstick, marker, etc)
Other?_____

purejoy -> RE: Fun Poll....#1 have you enjoyed the New Year so far? (1/24/2008 3:06:03 PM)

Combo of upper and lower case, and combo of print & cursive. My husband doesn't quite know what to call my handwriting. I do have neat handwriting, it's just my "own."

new poll question...
#3...When you write, which method do you use (mult chc)

HERE's MY VOTES for the Writing poll:

X Combo Of Caps and Lower Case
X Combination of Cursive and Print
X Other?___I prefer pen for most things, but use pencil in my check register since I make mistakes sometimes. Oh, and I use pencil when making notes in my Bible or other books I'm reading.

I personally don't care for all caps - too hard to read, and it loses its impact after awhile if the writer is trying to emphasize something by putting everything in all caps.

zoebob -> RE: Fun Poll....#1 have you enjoyed the New Year so far? (1/24/2008 3:59:17 PM)

I chose mixture of caps/lower case and all print and pen or pencil.

I don't write much. The only thing I write in cursive is when I have to sign my name.

Nicole_Michelle -> RE: Fun Poll....#1 have you enjoyed the New Year so far? (1/24/2008 4:08:18 PM)

I write in lower and upper case. I rarely use cursive. I prefer to use a pen. If I need to I write neatly, if I don't care it is messy.

joeshappywife -> RE: Fun Poll....#1 have you enjoyed the New Year so far? (1/24/2008 4:20:17 PM)

I use combo of CAPS and lower case.
I only print. (except my signature, of course)
I chose pencil, although I will use pen if it's all that's around. And even with pencil, I usually only use 0.5 mm mechanical pencils. I like the very sharp points.

lexie -> RE: Fun Poll....#1 have you enjoyed the New Year so far? (1/24/2008 4:46:20 PM)

I use a combo of caps and lower case. I tend to follow the rules of capitalisation. I also use a combo of cursive and print.....in the same words. I print, but at the same time my letters tend to connect. As well, I'll use whatever is around to write though I prefer a finepoint pen.

I do have some of the neatest printing you will ever see. Not bragging or anything but in school people used to think that I had typed up stuff when I had actually printed it.

peculiar_lady2 -> RE: Fun Poll....#1 have you enjoyed the New Year so far? (1/24/2008 4:49:50 PM)

I use all sorts of methods for writing...combine all sorts of things. Even my signature is a combination of print and cursive letters...lol.

Oh and just the other night I was doing sudoku while watching tv and I realized something else weird...I write my 8's two different ways...I do either two circles, or sometimes I do the figure eight way. Weird!!

I do that too, Sarah!

I also always put a horizontal line through my 7's and a line through my Z's.

I do through Z's (which our last name has in it)...but not 7's. I think I used to though...back in high school

cherish405 -> RE: Fun Poll....#1 have you enjoyed the New Year so far? (1/24/2008 5:52:35 PM)

Combo Of Caps and Lower Case
Combination of Cursive and Print
Write in pen or pencil, depending on what I'm writing, but mostly pen

Mrs.X -> RE: Fun Poll....#1 have you enjoyed the New Year so far? (1/24/2008 8:38:06 PM)

I write like a type - perfectly, with perfect punctuation and spelling. LOL J/K! I do type like a write though.

OneOfHisJewels -> RE: Fun Poll....#1 have you enjoyed the New Year so far? (1/24/2008 9:11:20 PM)

I voted other as I sort of have a "script" type of handwriting that's its own version of cursive (think wedding invitation type style)..my own style that kind of developed after taking calligraphy in 8th grade. I use that most of the time, but print for more mundane items..such as a shopping list or food diary.

I also put that I only use pen, because I hate pencils with a passion. They are as bad as fingernails on a blackboard for me. That is probably one of the reasons I did not like school growing up, and probably one of the reasons I hated math. I have tried mechanical pencils, but I always break them.

I absolutely LOVE to write with chalk on a chalkboard, and with marker on a dry erase, but of course, those aren't permanent..nowadays I've seen some elementary classrooms have each kid have their own little blackboard at their desk..I would have LOVED that.

_Cinderella_ -> RE: Fun Poll....#3 When you write, which method do you use? (1/25/2008 2:21:00 AM)

At work we are supposed to type everything in upper case, but I did not select that option.

When I type for myself, I type both capital and lowe case.

When I write, I use a combo of cursive and print.

I prefer to write with smooth-writing pens, but occassionally use a pencil if one is more readily available.

PrincessDonna -> RE: Fun Poll....#3 When you write, which method do you use? (1/25/2008 8:01:22 AM)

Are there really people out there who write in all lower case? That would drive me nuts.[&:]

I write with both upper and lower case letters, always in print except for my signature, and preferably in pen. Purple gel pens are my favorite, but other colors are better than pencil.

flowerz -> RE: Fun Poll....#3 When you write, which method do you use? (1/25/2008 11:56:49 AM)

Combo of Caps and Lower Case
All print
I only use Pen, or a pencil if I have too. I hate the feel and sound of a pencil scratching across the page.

fluffmonkey -> RE: Fun Poll....#3 When you write, which method do you use? (1/25/2008 12:01:38 PM)

I vote for the Combo!

uponeagleswings -> RE: Fun Poll....#1 have you enjoyed the New Year so far? (1/25/2008 12:04:53 PM)

I combine caps and lower case in the traditionally approved manner [8D], and I print sometimes and use cursive sometimes. Daily writing (that other people need to be able to read), I print. When I journal its in cursive because I think it looks prettier, although its harder to read.
I find it funny that in school they stressed cursive from about 3rd-5th grade and made a big deal out of telling us that we'd need it later. After about 6th grade, all of a sudden no one cared how we wrote so long as it was legible.
My dad prints in all caps.

I use pens for work (usually black pen) because a lot of it is on carbon paper or might need to be faxed. I'm picky about my pens and only like Pilot ballpoint pens. Any other ones either don't write well or get me all full of ink (I'm a lefty). I use automatic pencil for my checkbook or sudoku puzzles or things like that.
