There was a weather guy named Dr Dave on one of the tv stations and he looked like a used car salesman. I never trusted the man....looked like a shyster.

Thanks, Diane. I woke up at 6:00 a.m. with a whopper headache again so took some Ibuprofin....figure I will be good till about 2:00 p.m. before it's back again.

We are thinking about going to a movie today. We got some gift certificates for Christmas. The only movie that looks like it would maybe be interesting is "Atonement"...but it's rated R... so we will see. Maybe we will just wait.

I finally got all my dishes washed from last night's get together.

Oh...and Bill, wherever you are... the Chili recipe you left a link for looks like WAY too much work!! I don't follow a recipe...I make it by taste. I cook my hamburger with onion, add some garden grown garlic, then when the hamburger is done, I add some homemade tomatoe "sauce" (it has some small chunks in it since I don't strain it...and some of it also has green pepper, red pepper, garlic & onion in it too if I had those when canning), brown sugar pork & beans, then chili powder, celery salt, Worchester sce, tobasco sauce and some brown sugar ....all to taste. May not sound like much, but I ALWAYS got a lot of compliments on my Chili.

Craig's napping in the chair and it's sounding like a REALLY good idea right now.

Hmmmm, brown sugar you say? That's interesting! Sounds good though.

I just was napping too and then got a call from my sister. We are going to eat tonight now. About 4:30. I really should have gone to the high school to see the UW band that's playing there this afternoon. I forgot about it when I first heard and Jenny Ahlstrom mentioned it this morning. Her sis will be playing too. If there wasn't the dinner thing with Linda I would. *sigh*

The brown sugar is in the P&Bs.... but it's good that way. I always put a touch of brown sugar in my spaghetti sauce too and always get compliments on that too. Adam even asked what my "secret indgredient" was because he liked mine better than any he had tasted... LOL... he was surprised that that's all it was.

Ack!! NO BEANS!!!!! The brown sugar mellows some of the acidity. Yeah, my recipe was a lot of work until I got a food processor. Now it takes about 20 minutes to put together. It took me years to perfect that recipe. Oh, one other thing, NO BEANS!!!!!

That's my thoughts, Sharon!! Although for Christmas when I made it I did make one pot with noodles since I knew there were "weird people" who liked noodles in their so-called "Chili". To me it's not Chili anymore with noodles... it's "hot dish".

The headaches are still coming back as soon as the Ibuprofin wears off. I was in tears last night because of how bad it hurt AND because taking Ibuprofin so much really scares me... my mom almost died from it because it it's a blood thinner and caused her bleeding ulcer to open. :o I didn't go into work this morning since if I went to work and then left again that would be TWO attendance occurances rather than since I left Friday it will still count as ONE for three days. I am going to a chiropractor ("Dr. Dave") at 11:30 so must get ready!! Please pray they are able to find the problem!! (like a pinched nerve in my back or neck and correct it!)

Blessings all and thanks for the prayers!!!
Sheila

NOODLES????!!!!! Noodles are for tomato sauce and lo mein. I'll put chili over rice once in a while, but never noodles. Next you'll be telling me you put ketchup on hot dogs.

Bill, your potatoes were wonderful with dinner last night. DeeDee doctored them up. I had too much oil so some of the flavoring staying in the mixing bowl. But they were still so good!

Sheila - I will pray that the headaches go away and that the chiropractor can help.

Bill - I'm gonna hafta try your chilli (mild version, though) and your potatoes!

Wanna come be my cook?

BTW . . . I made chilli over the weekend, and was giggling about you (before I even read your chilli posts) . . . I was remembering how adamant you are about no beans in the chilli.

And BTW again . . . Congratulations on having your recipe listed on Spice House's website!

No big deal, just e-mailed it to them. And I'd be your cook any time, as long as the position pays well and I wasn't forced to do unnatural things like put pineapple on pizza.

And just how did Dee-Dee doctor up my recipe? I'm always looking to improve.

I agreed....chili doesn't have noodles for "normal" people. I wouldn't eat it on rice either though. IF I will eat a hot dog...which is a BIG IF, it would have ketchup on it.

Well...since going to the chiro, the headache hasn't come back full force. I'm still waiting to see if it does. Hopefully not!! I am going back on Wednesday and Friday afternoons. It's in the 40s here today (shock!!) so I went for a nice walk. Well... nice as weather made it possible. It killed my ankle..but that's something unfortunately I am going to have to just endure until I get a BUNCH of weight off since I KNOW that's the cause of it hurting as much as it does.

I just made a decision in regards to my headache issue. I am going back to the dentist as well because these awful headaches started after getting a new filling and that side of my mouth on top hurts and now I just was pushing on the bottom of the tooth that got the filling and that really hurts!! Like he didn't leave enough filling over the nerve or something. I go in tomorrow at 4:00 for that since I HAVE to get back to work!!

Don't be silly! I would never think of asking you to pay to be my cook.

DeeDee followed your recommendations but was in control of the ratio and amounts. And we added parsey for color.

Love that avatar Sheila. Man I can sure see Danielle in that picture.

Praying the headache issue is solved soon. If you have a tender tooth, that very well may be at least part of it.

Yo, Bill!!

In regards to your chili recipe - I knew there was something I liked about you! In my eyes, chilli ain't meant to have beans!! I love the way that Tex-Mex chili is made: ground beef, cubed beef, jalapeno peppers, red & green chili peppers (habaneros if you're really brave!), onions, chili powder, tomatoes (not paste or sauce), maybe some Spicy V-8 juice to thin it out a li-i-i-i-tle bit, and of course, ga-a-a-a-a-h-lic salt. And, most defilitely . . . NO BLOOMIN' RED KIDNEY BEANS!!!!!

BTW, what's wrong with catsup on a hot dog? Some chili, onions, and catsup on a finely cooked Ball Park Frank, a warm bun, and a cold Diet Pepesi MAX? I'm good to go!

Sheila, you, Danielle and Adam are in our prayers.

Shar-Mar! Whassup, girlfriend!!

Howdy-doo, Denny!

Duane
