basically we go to the office, they take David's contribution and "wash" it, and then insert it through the cervix, and we try to get pregnant that way.

Gina, I'm sorry you are in pain and that your last dr's visit was so awful. I've never had a visit like that. Ouch! I hope that the IUI (if you do it) goes well.

I am on CD 3 now, AF came on schedule. It has been so much better since my surgery, so I am thankful for that. I also have been in touch with a friend who is also going through infertility and also adopted a girl from China about a year ago (they got her about a year ago). It helps to have someone to talk to. I hear all these stats about so many women going through infertility, but I have yet to meet any (except you ladies here). I am starting to get discouraged again, this is the third full cycle since my surgery and I was hoping th problem was "fixed" and we would conceive.....It's hard to believe so many women get pregant within their first 3 cycles of TTC'ing, and this is like my 3rd cycle after TTC'ing for two years, and then having surgey.....it's so depressing. We are thinking we may try clomid if it doesn't happen by October/november.

This is my 3rd cycle TTC after we made a definite conscious decision to do it. (All in all it's been over 14 years...) It does get depressing when you you meet people, like a friend of mine, who said of herself, "All a guy has to do is look at me & I'm pregnant." Nice.

Well, I'm stumped. FF has me back in the "green zone". Who knows... maybe I geared up last week and then just didn't O, but am now. I had started to wonder if this was going to be an anovulatory cycle, but maybe not... it is a long one, though.

I hear you, ladies. I really really do. We're still TTC and I'm pretty sure that I'm gearing up for AF to arrive over the weekend. We have a couple of more months before DH goes in for testing.

I was talking with my mom recently, and she said that she sure wished that I wasn't having the issues that I'm having, and that I could be more like her. I told her that there is something like a 25% chance of pregnancy any given month... and she said it always seemed to her like it was 100%. I laughed, but you know... I think it *would* have been easy for me in my early 20's, which was how old mom was with each of us. Too bad I didn't meet hubby until my early 30's. =) Things changed.

Things do change. DH & I have been married for 14 years, but were never focused on having kids until recently. I, too, wish I'd started this a little younger. Makes you wonder how things could have been different, and if the struggles we have no would have been an issue back then.

I got married at 29 and DH just turned 37. I don't care to think about the ''what if's" if I would have gotten married earlier. I didn't have the choice...didn't meet DH until I was a little older. I would rather marry my DH at an older age than have a house full of kids right now anyways, because he's the BEST!

oh, I fully agree. I just sometimes wonder why God waited so long to introduce us to each other. =)

Happy early birthday, Gina! It's 3 months after mine...so I'll try to remember. Hopefully we'll be yakking about it in the pregnancy chat or baby chat though. LOL

Sometimes I wonder if mine is age as well...even though I'm not that old. It's just it was so easy to conceive DS (I was expecting within 6 months of my marriage). This time it is just different. *sigh*

I'm still stumped. I got all excited because FF gave me my cross hairs yesterday, so I was all happy and stuff... today they took them away... said I didn't have an O chart that they recognized. I just wish this cycle was over with already!

On a slightly good note, my national friend here has been doing some research and found out who we have to go to to talk about insurance for foreigners. If they say, yes, you can get insurance here, then I can start down the path of at least getting checked out and maybe some tests. I guess it's at least some progress.

I had a positive OPK test today.

IUI is scheduled for 2-3:30 pm tomorrow

Oh Gina, I didn't see your prayer request in time... praying now though!!!

Once again I'm a bit confused, but a good confused and trying-not-to-get-my-hopes up confused. So, I figured I was out. This morning my temp went up, hight than it's been in quite some time, and the later I started spotting. So, I figured, I'm out. I went to FF to input the info... not only have they put my cross-hairs and O date back on (O date they had the other day) but now they're also saying that, since I had a good rise today & today is 10dpo, it could be implantation bleeding. HUH? That's a switch. So, I don't know. I don't "feel" pregnant... in fact nothing feels abnormal. That said, nothing feels abnormal in the case of Aunt Flo showing up either... none of those signs. So, we'll see. tomorrow should tell me a lot... if spotting goes to flow, what my temp does... but I'm really, REALLY trying not to get my hopes up yet again. FF recommends a test date of Sept 16 since I don't have enough charting info in to determine my average LP. I'll wait, no problem. I'm leaning towards me not being... you know... but would you pray I'm wrong and have a reason to hope?[8|] I wouldn't mind people's thoughts on my chart, either. http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/20f88c

Lydia, I have NO idea. I thought all was looking well for me as my temps were still elevated 10 days past FF's O date.....still elevated 12 days....

Then day 14 or maybe it was 15 after O (day like 29 of cycle)....AF starts.

Praying for clarity! Hoping you are pregnant.

Thanks Megan... yeah, I saw your chart and was really hopeful for you... what do "soy isoflavones" do? I still don't know what's happening. I thought last night, "Ok, either my temp will drop and I'll have an actual "Flow" by tomorrow, or it will stay high and I won't. Never thought about the possibility that it would go down a bit but still be "high" and that I would still technically be spotting. Oh, the joy. I guess we'll see what happens tomorrow! I'm REALLY not getting my hopes up, though. I'm totally cool which ever way. Of course, if I'm pregnant, woohoo! but if I'm not, at least this cycle is finally starting over again. Whatever.

How are you doing Gina? When will you know something?

Well, I'm back at square one again. I'm ok with it though. I'm really hoping to get some OPKs from America for this month. Hopefully that will help something... but I'm a bit concerned... last month my LP was 9 days, this month 10 days. What can I do about that, anything that does not require a doctor (hopefully getting insurance questions answered tomorrow) or name brand medications. Any ideas for this chic out in the sticks?

the thing to lengthen your luteal phase is either stronger ovulation (clomid, or I guess maybe what Megan is going to try this cycle) or to have progesterone supplementation. I take prescription progesterone, but you could try over the counter progesterone cream, and see if that helps at all. It didn't help me much with this issue... thus the prescription.

Yeah, that's what the soy isoflavones are for, Lydia & Gina. They're supposed to help with ovulation. It would seem you are ovulating though, so maybe that isn't your problem. In that case, I would think the progesterone cream might help (as progesterone is the hormone that causes your temp to rise during the LP).

yeah, at first my doctor thought that maybe with the clomid my ovulation would be "strong" enough to not need the progesterone to lengthen the luteal phase, but after testing they decided to go with the progesterone supplement as well as the clomid.

Hmm... someone on FF suggested more B6. Have you heard anything about that? B6 I can get here. Progesterone cream I'd have to wait until someone was coming over form the US to bring it... it's considered a drug so customs through the mail would be impossible. But I don't want to bother with B6 if there's nothing to it.

On another note, I found out yesterday that I can't get insurance here until I have permanent residency. 1-2 more years. :(

I take a B6 supplement as well, although I've not noticed any difference since starting it.... 3 or 4 cycles ago.

Lydia, I haven't heard anything about the B6 so I really don't know about that. I don't think the cinnamon or soy isoflavones would be considered "drugs" and you should be able to get those OTC at a pharmacy or elsewhere (I bought them at Wal-Mart here in the US). Not sure that would help in elongating your LP though...so probably wouldn't do any good. Without going to a doctor, it's hard to say if that's the problem or not though. That really stinks that you cannot get insurance until permanent residency is established.

Lydia, maybe you could investigate a progesterone only birth control pill and use it the same time the cream? They are wicked cheap here, like $10 w/o insurance for a months supply.

Ok, so I've discovered that I am not eligible for insurance here in this country for another 1-2 years (until we have permanent residency). Ugh. But, my friend is going to quiz her obgyn and see how much it would cost to do all of this in cash. Medicine is much cheaper here, in general, so we'll see what happens. I also have some B6 coming over (I believe) with a new friend coming to visit, and I have placed an order for my new digital BBT and 50 OPKs (the cheap ones of the 'net...) so hopefully we'll see some new information come about in the next few months!
