Hey Sam,
Just thought I would tell you that before our first concert this morning with The Freemans, we had prayer and the pledge of allegiance to the flag. Couldn't help but think of you.
There was a lady from Canada that just became a citizen of the U. S. and she was in tears and maybe that just says it all. BTW our service men and women have been saluted and honored during this festival just like I knew they would be. I am PROUD to be an American and from what I have witnessed so it is with everyone in those theaters.

Morning to everyone when they get here. I brought some Pumpkin Muffins for all to enjoy. I'm getting a cold Diet MtDew and leaving. Gotta get ready for church this morning. You all have a blessed day & I'll see you later.

I would make you coffee, but I don't drink it so it would not be good.

Good afternoon Sam. Are you still being a good man?
I think I'm going to go and take a Baptist nap! Talk to you all later....

Sam is always a good man.

Good Sunday to all. I won't be on much but wanted to say hi. I posted a prayer request over in Southern Gospel. I won't repeat it all here but it is Mrs. Qtman's mother and I would appreciate y'all praying.

Sam, are you far enough inland to avoid any serious flooding???

Do you have any trees close to your house (might want to go ahead and cut them down... )??

Have you stocked up on bottled water and all that other stuff???

(I'm sounding very motherish, aren't I?)

Brenda you are not being motherish. I appreciate the concern. My trees will be o.k. and I live about 200 miles from the coast so I should not see any flooding. As a matter of fact Gustav appears to be headed for New Orleans and we won't get anything but maybe rain.

Reminds me when I lived in Charlotte (197 miles from the coast) and Hurricane Hugo hit. It was the last thing I ever expected. Luckily I slept through it.

I haven't seen your request in SG, but just said a prayer for Mrs. qtman's mother.

Seems like trouble is coming all at once.

I was very lucky.

I lived in Concord in a condo in a what used to be a big knitting mill, very solid. The wind hit the other side and I slept through it until the future Mrs. Kerrlaw called to see if I was ok. I looked out and saw all the downed trees and smashed cars.

Since I lived across the street from the hospital, my power got turned on first - almost immediately. Some people that I worked with were without power for three weeks.

We were without power for what seemed like forever. Our neighborhood flooded, luckily our house was higher up than all the rest. The wind was horrible and sounded like a train barreling around the house.

I remember Hugo also. I remember a tree that fell and came close enough to my uncle's house that I (as thin as I was) could not walk between them.

Good Morning, Sam.
Hope y'all are staying drying.

The hurricane I remember the most vividly was Frederick back in '79.

We were without power and electricity for 9-12 days (I've since forgotten which time span goes with which outage). Our entire street was an absolute wreck - downed trees; downed power lines, etc., etc.

I lived through 31 years of yearly hurricanes . . . and in all honesty, I'm quite glad I haven't encountered any during these past several years.

For some strange reason I would think Wyoming is not a hurricane center.

I do have some beach front property in Arizona for sale though.

LOL!

Nope, I don't even think they get tropical storms out there.

Oh man!

I love the Arizona coast! How much are you asking?
