I gave Mona the recipe and she may have altered it, but the original calls for 2 to 4 tablespoons. 1 tablespoon would make them not as hot.

Oh, ok, Gary. I remember reading it, but didn't remember where it came from. I remember thinking that I probably wouldn't like them just because I don't like most spicy stuff. The spicest thing that I like is KFC hot wings. If I get any BBQ or anything like that, I get the mildest I can get. So, the hot pepper didn't appeal to me. However, I know there are a lot of folks out there who do like it...

Yep, I can see that. Guess you'll just have to stick to your frozen smoothies....
They're not frozen. I make them fresh every morning and drink them as soon as I make them.

They also are NOT pretty. Not at all.

I put a tablespoon of black-strap molasses and some oats . . . and that combination does not make for pretty colorful smoothies . . . but they sure are delicious!

'Night Sam.

Hey Judy!
(And probably good night, Judy)
I think I'm going to call it a night as well.

Well, I have fixed the turning off the lights problem... I got night lights for the place... and they come on automatically when it gets dark!

Well, for some reason, I thought you were using yogurt and ice and I don't know what else... fresh fruit, perhaps. Guess I should have asked what you put in them, huh?

I can understand why people don't like hot foods. I don't like this extremely hot, but surprisingly the sweetness of them makes it easier to take (at least for me).

Thanks Judy, I am sticking around for a little while longer. I am still feeling a little tired, and coughing here and there. But for the most part I am at least 70% better than yesterday!

Well, before I log off . . .

No, I don't put neither yogurt nor ice in them.

I used to (occasionally) put a small amount of half-n-half in them . . . but I haven't done that in quite a while . . . in fact, I don't imagine that I'll be doing that again as I recently decided to give up half-n-half.

I use fresh fruit (usually a banana as a base). I then add other fresh fruit (usually an apple; sometimes a peach instead) and then I might put in some grapes or pineapple or some other type of fresh fruit.

I also add flax seeds, raw oats and black-strap molasses.

That's it. I blend all that up on high in my Vita-Mix blender.

Sometimes I might add some filtered water if the smoothie is too thick.

Lately, I've been pouring the smoothie into a bowl and eating it with a spoon. Sometimes I will add some dried fruit or some raw coconut and/or some raw nuts . . . depending on if I'm really hungry.

Oh . . . if I do add dried fruit, raw coconut or raw nuts, I don't put those in the blender, I just stir them in after I pour the smoothie in a bowl.

Goodnight to all who have gone to bed.

Sam (for in the morning), GB and I ate a bowl of our Strawberries and Vanilla ice cream while we watched TV and I told her that it's your favorite too. She thought that was pretty cool!

I am so glad Brenda posted about the night light. Thank you Brenda. Took a day or two to get over the last visit when the lights were off. Very considerate of you to go to the expense of doing that. You would think Sam would have already taken care of that.

Speaking of food, I'm out of cookies!

How could you let such a thing happen, Phosy??? You aren't out of B & J too, are you???

I don't know... But so you know, I have 1 and 1/2 (out 1 and 1/4 now) cartons of B&J so the crisis isn't as bad as it first appeared.

Brenda Phosy may be forgetful enough to run out of cookies but I don't think she will ever run out of B & J's.

Sniff! You know me so well...

She will just have to move to Vermont then instead! BTW, what is that ice cream competitor from the west coast instead? The name excapes me right now.

Competitor implies that there is something that is just as good as B&J's which, of course, we all know, is simply not possible.
