Sure. I have been keeping up with the other thread. On one had you can't rely on ROmans 14 because Paul was writing to a certain group about a certain problem. But you must obey Lev 19:27 when it is talking about a certain people and a certain problem.

That's a problem when people think they can sit and study any translation of the Bible and only use that in their study. Even the scolars have admitted to wrongly translating portions of the original language. The English translations have been changed several times down through history because of this. Some scripture can be looked at word for word but the majority of them you need to look at the original language to understand them. But I guess some folks will never understand that.

Hi Sam, I understand that. Now if Jesus fulfilled the law then why are we to still abide by it?

Hey Mike.

A little background on me. My dad was a minister. My brother is a retired minister. I have been involved in the music ministry most of my adult life. I have spent countless hours studing the Bible and religion in general. I have what some see as an unusual view of the Bible.

1. I believe the Scriptures were given to the original authors by God Himself. I believe they aere properly recorded. Therefore I believe the Scripture is the infallable Word of God.

2. I do not extend that belief to any of the English translations of said Scripture. I believe and history has proven that mistakes were made in the translation of the Scripture to the English language. There are probably many reasons for this. Misunderstanding, political pressure etc. However the fact remains the English versions have been revised numerous times throughout history. So much in fact it was reduced from 80 books to only 66. The scolars doing the revisions changed some words because they found a "better" translation. I do not take the English versions of the Bible at face value. I study them, and I own at least 4 different versions, but I also use other study material as well. A good Hebrew to English Dictionary is a must. When I come upon something I do not understand I try to go back to the original language and see what the words actually translate to.

I think this gives me a better understanding of what the Bible actually says and not what some preacher or scolar thought it said.

Maybe I am wrong but I do not feel wrong. If someone can show me the error in that I will gladly change.

Brenda I have more than one. One is published by Webster I don't remember the names of the others and I am at work so I can't look. I find myself more and more lately sitting with my lap top and reading and comparing the different versions of the Bible using THISsimply because it is much easier than having four paper versions spread out in my lap. Since I am reading from the laptop I also tend to use the online Strongs concordance and Hebrew Lexicon.

Oh yes. I've used that site before too to look up things. In fact, the little Bible study that I'm doing (links in siggy) -- I'm doing a lot of my "looking up things" there.

I missed it too... Good grief...

We'll have to compare notes sometime! I sometimes feel "out there". I believe Scripture is 100% true/truth. I just sometimes think we make conclusions from Scripture and read more into Scripture than is actually there. I'm quite the little pagan....

For instance, I don't believe the earth is 6000 years old and see no contradiction with my belief from Scripture.

Well, now that you all know what a heathern I am.... I'm off to go post some heathern comments somewhere in these threads...

Guess that's a bit of a drive to see a singing, hmmm? Although, I would drive it for them....
They are also going to be in Lawrenceburg, KY but that is about 5 hours from me. That's a bit far to drive for one night.

I have made longer drives before to hear a group I wanted to hear. Triumphant was at the end of one of those trips. It was one of Bobby York's concerts. I may try to make it to this one it all depends on Mrs. Qtman. We are a group package you know. If she can't go I don't go.

Hehe! My grandparents on my mom's side didn't exactly operate that way. My grandpa never wanted to do anything or go anywhere. My grandma wasn't going to sit around at home though so she just went everywhere without him...

Thanks for the MtDew. I needed it this morning.

Sam do you have a big 4th of July planned? Nothing planned here except I might cook a hot dog on the George Forum grill, or I might not. Can't make up my mind.

Ruth Mrs. Qtman and I will be spending a quite July 4TH at home alone this year. Actually I will be taking advantage of the three day weekend to get some much needed work done of the cradle. I will also probably throw a couple of steaks on the grill for dinner.

Steak sounds good, so I might just need to drop-in Oh, but since it is so far away, I might just have to get one to cook myself, but that would mean I'd need to go & purchase a grill. Guess I could cook it on the George Forum Grill also & it would be less work. Life get confusing sometimes.

During inclement weather that is exactly what we do. Not quite the same taste as one done on the grill but still very good.

Sorry I didn't get the coffee on... I slept in a little this morning. I have to work nights tonight and was trying to sleep. Still woke up at 11 after being up most of the night.

I will really feel it come 7am in the morning!

By the way, I will be gone the next 3 mornings -- someone else needs to make coffee!

You could always dilute liquid smoke in water and put it in a spray bottle... then spray the grill right before you grill each burger (or steak, or chicken, or...).

ETA: This is just for a George Foreman grill...

Hi Sam, How in the world are you and Mrs Qtman? Everything is good in Mo. Looks like rain again but it keeps the yard green.
