TQ_Fan_4_Life -> promoting concerts (1/10/2008 1:18:34 PM)

can some in here that promote concerts or have promoted concerts in the past give me advice on what to look at as for as expenses, the steps to go through in putting a concert on, and the like?

I am thinking of putting on some concerts when I reach Alabama for local charities and the such. I am not wanting to make money for myself but would not want to look forward to losing money.

from my thinking and studying, I might be more inclined to make money for a charity/Church and the such by putting on CCM shows.

Joey try sending Bobby York or Jchaz a PM.

Joey, not to be too discouraging, but I found it is better to buy just 2 tickets for me and Mrs. C. than paying for all those empty seats. Not many promoters make money promoting.

AMEN Santa. I promoted for almost 30 years and it isn't what people think. It's hard work, lots of money and lots of worry, and yep, sometimes, lots of empty seats.

Oh, my goodness! Ernie Haase just called me!!!!! Well, OK, it was a recording but it was him and he personally invited me to their concert in the Atlanta area next Friday night! I'm on their e-mail list so he had my phone number.

I'm impressed! I remember how impressed I also was when I got a targeted e-mail from Tribute telling me about a concert near me and this phone recording just takes it a step further. Wouldn't it be fabulous if more groups were able do this sort of thing.

Great promo ideas EH&SS and Tribute!!!
