abiggans -> What has your husband done lately that just made you melt... (1/7/2008 12:39:49 PM)

I'll start...

My husband will, out of the blue, say "I am so happy that you are my wife."

It might not seem like much but it means the world to me. It let's me know that he loves me, appreciates me, and is proud of me! He is a man of few words, but when he does speak up he melts my heart!

Ok, now I want to hear what all those other amazing men out there are doing...

He made me a cup of coffee on Sunday morning and brought it to me while I was getting ready for church.

He said that I was his second greatest gift...the first being the Love of God.

(((((swoon))))0

Yesterday I asked him to come sit on the couch to watch cartoons with me and kids. I could tell that he didn't really WANT to, but he did anyway, so I leaned toward him and puckered up, just wanting one of those little, short, smack kisses, but instead got one of those lasting, loving, intimate kisses... [:D] It was difficult to stay on the couch watching toons with the kiddies after that. [:)]

We were suppose to paint the bathroon together. Had been planning to do it on New Year's day for months. I hate painting, but really wanted that roomed painted. He got up and just did it all himself. Never once asked me to help and it looks great! I love that man.

as a result of my husband's federal work, we spend a great deal of every year in different geographical locations, sometimes, for many weeks @ a time. in the midst of that kind of relational scenario, he still puts forth great effort w/me to keep us connected between the times we are together (i do a lot of traveling [:)] ).

needless to say, the telephone is our lifeline. when he has the time in the evenings, he will often call just so that we can watch the same television show together over the phone.

he is a great orator and story teller, and one of my most favorite things he does for me is tell me the various "stories" of his life growing up whenever i ask. i've heard them many times now, bu i never get tired of hearing him tell them to me. i usually ask for them @ bedtime. i've always loved bedtime stories. [:)]

We were going to pick up some things from the store and when we were about to get out of the car he told me to wait a sec, he ran around to my side, opened the door, and told me he needed to give me a big hug - so I got a huge hug and a great kiss in the parking lot [:)]

This may not be what you're looking for -

My hubby made me melt -
Christmas day he found out our dishwasher was leaking -
the water had been trapped beneath our wood floor... when he stepped into the kitchen water began seeping through the boards!
I did a melt down!

My husband has spent the last several days rubbing my back and neck because I have a cold. He already does this but on both days he rubbed for over an hour. My muscles and joints hurt so that was wonderful. He also tells me all the time how much I mean to him. Sadly I get so used to hearing it I sometimes tune it out. He is a super loving, kind, gentle and honerable man I have ever known. There is nothing he would not do for me. Some women say that about their boyfriends/ husbands almost as wishful thinking but I know my husband would do anything for me. I do not know why but God truly blessed me beyone anything I deserve in a husband. What is really funny is that my husband says the same thing about me. I do not honestly feel like I live up to the pedastal he puts me on but he does.

Just now when I looked over and saw him doing the dishes with the most intense look of concentration on his face. It was so cute! I love it when he pitches in without even being asked. He does the dishes every night and it melts my heart every time.

Last night he said, "I love you, Mrs. xxx" and I'm still enough of a newlywed that it melts my heart to hear it, and to know he is glad that I'm HIS Mrs. :)

Melt? I guess he's not big on melting ... he buys me things if that counts? He's a great husband and a wonderful father so I'm not complaining ... he isn't so overtly romantic.

laughinggirl -> RE: What has your husband done lately that just made you melt... (1/9/2008 11:06:43 AM)

I have another one. [:D]

Last night we were watching a TV show. In the show, the dad had been away from his family for a while. When he finally got the chance to call his kids on the phone, he got very emotional because he missed them so much. I looked over at my husband and he was sitting there with tears running down his face. We don't even have kids yet, but his heart was touched by that dad on TV missing his children. It was so sweet!!!

Love him!

It has been very, very cold here. When my husband is home, (he is a truck driver) he will go out and start my car in the morning. When my car would not start, he took time off to come home and help me get it going.

3cappuccinosmom -> RE: What has your husband done lately that just made you melt... (1/14/2008 8:55:23 PM)

Last night I went to bed very early because of having a cold, and late, late at night, he crawled into bed, wrapped his arms around me, and said "I was planning to go out to work on the other house tonight, but decided to stay home with my wife instead". He is into a project that he loves over there and often works late into the night, but when he doesn't have to go to work in the morning, he will often stay on the couch reading until dawn, so for him to put both of those aside to visit me was very sweet.[:D]

car2ner -> RE: What has your husband done lately that just made you melt... (1/15/2008 6:09:42 AM)

here's another one similar to 3caps...

My husband did not let me out of bed Saturday morning. It was warm and snuggly and everytime I tried to get up his warm strong arms suddenly got heavier and he nuzzled closer into my neck and gave a play growl. He would have let me up if I needed to but the warm cozy relaxing bed togetherness was just too pleasant to give up right away.

elastic -> RE: What has your husband done lately that just made you melt... (1/15/2008 10:19:34 AM)

this'll probably sound very cheesy, but anyway...

when i woke up this morning, my dh asked me how I slept last night. I told him that I slept very well and that I had a dream that he won the lottery. He said, "well, that wasn't a dream, I did win the lottery...when I won you."

he's forever saying sweet stuff like that. it may seem cheesy, but it never gets old.

also, I have been really sick lately...last week with the flu and this week with a really bad cold. On Saturday morning, he got out of bed to go and make breakfast. I was nuzzled up with my cat, half sleeping, half watching television....then i saw something out of the corner of my eye and was drawn to his reflection in the mirror. He was just standing in the doorway, arms crossed, and head tilted to the side watching us. I said "Hey baby, what are you doing?" He said, "I was just watching my 2 kitty cats sleeping, and it's such a beautiful sight".

he really does make my heart melt.

we work together in the middle of the night, so when we get home it is breakfast time, and I am always exhausted. so each and every morning he makes us breakfast before we head to bed. it's cereal and toast but it means so much to me to be able to unwind![:)]

I know I told this story to another forum but it fit this question so well.
On Sunday morning as he was fixing breakfast he started humming a country song. He hates country music!! That and his smile sent a message to me like no other. He would even listen to country for me and remember the tune!! I told him that not liking country was the only thing wrong with him and now I had the perfect man. He said not to get too excited. Now I suppose I have to suck it up and try some of his style. Just for him, I'll try. Miracles can happen more than once!![;)]

LaVidaBonita -> RE: What has your husband done lately that just made you melt... (1/16/2008 8:33:07 PM)

I'm engaged and therefore do not have a husband yet, but I just want to let you know how encouraging it is to hear all of you talk so positively about your husbands. I'm so excited to get married, but I will admit that reading some of the posts on the marriage forum do make me a little nervous about the future [8|]. So many people seem so unhappy and I can't help but think that they never thought that their lives would be like that. I'm sure that just like me they had hopes of a beautiful life together, but somewhere along the road everything fell apart...and I begin to wonder what if that is my future. But then I read posts like these and I once again feel encouraged that marriage can be beautiful, and honor God, and truly be a reflection of the love of Christ...so again I say thank you for your stories.

And just to add my two cents, but FH made me melt when he asked me to be his wife and walk through life with my hand in his.[:)]

JCMK -> RE: What has your husband done lately that just made you melt... (1/16/2008 10:32:24 PM)

We are no longer married, but I'll never forget something special that my husband did for me. I had a bilateral mastectomy and had spent seven days in the hospital. They didn't let me take a bath or wash my hair, so the first morning home I couldn't stand it any longer and had to take a shower. I was so weak, my husband put a chair in the shower and helped me get into it. Then he turned on the water and got in the shower with me and washed my hair (because I couldn't lift my arms). The warm water and soap and gentle washing by my husband was just like Heaven. He dried me off, put clean pajamas on me and led me back to bed. I felt so pampered, even in my grief and pain. I miss him and wish that I could snuggle up to his back in bed every night. It's sad, but at least I have some happy memories to hold in my heart.

granolagirl -> RE: What has your husband done lately that just made you melt... (1/16/2008 11:36:58 PM)

I'm a stay-at-home mom with a high-needs baby. My husband makes dinner most of the time when he gets home from work. He also tells me he loves me several times a day and he's a big snuggler. It also melts my heart just watching him play with our daughter. [:D]
He's the best.
Oh..and he cleaned the bathroom this weekend. (I hate cleaning the tub so he always does that for me).

Desert_ratt44 -> RE: What has your husband done lately that just made you melt... (1/17/2008 5:01:24 PM)

I have the wonderful opportunity to work with my husband and many times during the day he will walk by my desk just to look at me. He will stop and smile and give me "googley" eyes and I'll ask him what's up. He will simply tell me he wanted to look at his beautiful wife.

Many times I feel unattractive and he always has a way to make me feel like the most beautiful woman in the world.

car2ner -> RE: What has your husband done lately that just made you melt... (1/20/2008 10:26:06 AM)

With so many people posting that they need advice for their problems, I hope that this thread keeps going to present the UP side of marriage!

So I am respectfully bumping this one with another melt point: I was upset the other night to the point of tears and my wonderful man just held me and called me beautiful. He didn't tell me that I was being silly or over reacting or try to fix the problem. He wanted to, of course, but at that time he just held me and let me cry.

(((sigh)))

paulsbride -> RE: What has your husband done lately that just made you melt... (1/20/2008 6:24:12 PM)

My hubby got back from an 11 day mission with work at 3 am Saturday morning (after spending an exhausting 16 hours driving!) He got up when I did because he wanted to spend as much of the day with me as he could - and then this morning when my sister (who was visiting while he was away) needed to leave for the airport by 4:30 am he said he would do it so I wouldn't have to get up so early.

Something cute (and perhaps slightly corny) he said this week (after I apologized for having forgotten to do something he'd asked.) "That's ok babe, I didn't marry you because you were perfect... I married you because you are perfectly beautiful." [:D]
