Just to comment, in reading over this thread, I think I've "aaaaaawwww'd" about a thousand times.

My boyfriend is already incredibly sweet to me, but reading stuff like this makes me look forward to our future together even more than I already do.

Thanks for sharing these melting moments. I greatly enjoy reading them.

m'love asked me the other day, "what would you like when you come home from work?" since I had to work Saturday. Off the top of my head I gave him a silly fantasy answer. It took him by surprise but I came home on Saturday and he had done his best to pull of what I had asked for. (grin)

We had a houseful of last-minute company this weekend - Brian's brothers and some friends from Houston who needed a place to stay because of the hurricane. We haven't even had our house a year yet, but it sure has turned out to be a blessing at times like this. This morning, Brian e-mailed me to thank me for "creating an inviting home" and for being such a good hostess to his family and friends. [:D]

It was nice to hear that, because I was already focusing on all of the little embarrassing things that went wrong....

Friday, I had been studying and doing homework the entire day, so in the late afternoon, he came in saw me a little overwhelmed and insisted I take a break even though I said I needed to keep with it. He said I needed a break more. So, we went to the mall and did a little shopping and had a great time just talking and cutting up. Then we stopped for dinner on the way home and I came home totally refreshed and in a much better frame of mind to study.

He always sees what I need before I do and I love that about him. [:)]

I don't want to see this thread slip to the back pages. My husband does so many wonderful things. I have today off and after our morning prayer he told me, "make sure you have some fun, too. This is your day off."

my hubby was gone for the last 2 nights. i was really missing him. when he got home i had dinner made so we sat down to eat. after eating we decided to just stay on the couch for awhile and relax. i laid down with my head on his leg, he could obviously tell that i had a long and stressful day so he took the barrette out of my hair and played with my hair and massaged my scalp. it was so nice that he did that all on his own, without me even asking!!!

laura... -> RE: What has your husband done lately that just made you melt... (10/1/2008 10:58:22 AM)

I woke up this morning a little after 3 AM, used the bathroom and then couldn't fall back to sleep. A little after 4 AM I took a shower to try to relax. Then I shut the bedroom door so not to disturb hubby, turned on the tv quietly in the living room and layed down on the couch. Immediately, hubby came out to see what was wrong. Then he got a blanket, sat down on the floor next to the couch and layed his head on me just to be with me. About 5 minutes later we went back to bed and I slept just fine while he held me for most of the rest of the night.

I still love this thread so much! He's still making me melt even through this very difficult time in our lives. Yesterday he gave me a hug and said how happy he is to have his best friend home (me) and how much he's missed his best friend (me) since I am now working nights and weekends. A different time yesterday he held me and looked at my hair and told me how much he really likes my new haircut and how fluffy it is! (It's been two months so it's not that recent since I cut it - the comment took me by surprise). Another time I walked in to once again see him in the middle of hugging one of our older (9) boys and planting a big kiss on his cheek! Today I have been pondering how amazed I am that God has turned my oldest (11) son into a carbon copy of his dad. How can someone so young pick up so many qualities and traits from their father so completely? Whoever marries my oldest son is going to be one blessed lady, just as I am so blessed to be married to the "original" !

my husband is very set in his ways and likes things just so....when i shop i always keep that in mind therefore alot of the things i like don't get bought...however today my husband stopped and picked up stuff for dinner and as little of a gesture as it was he bought the sesame seed hamburger buns...he doesn't much care for them but he said that he thought of me while he was shopping and knows how much i love them. it wasn't much but it made me fall in love with him all over again....

My husband spent all day yesterday cleaning the house and mowing the lawn so that I could go visit my terminally ill aunt. It was the best weekend that I have had in a long time spending quality time with him in the woods then coming home and him cleaning up after the kids.[:)][:)]

So I helped him finish up his work, so that he could move into his new position.

He told me about a county bicycle ride the coming weekend, and we did a 32 mile route. There were about 5 of us pulling up the rear and we had a great time.

...... He just now stopped by my office with a blizzard in hand (for me!) to tell me that he has dinner handled and he will take the girls to their Bible study today....

[:D]

(oh yeah.... and to ask if he could 'hire' me for a few hours for a contracting job next week! gotta love a little extra $$ :D )

He spent all afternoon yesterday just enjoying our three boys. Because he is so busy, so tired, and a little bit of a perfectionist, I know that took major effort on his part. But, he did it. He invited the older two to go for a walk with him (which they LOVE), then sat with his arms around them while we watched a movie (which they LOVE), and then made them little windmill toys out of straws and paper, and let them chase him around with their "propellors" in our front yard. Asrat was chattering about it all last evening, how "the guys" went for a walk and "talked about man things" and then how much he liked sitting with his Baba's arm wrapped around him.

There's nothing more romantic to me than watching dh be a great daddy. [:)]

Greg will take Nathan out in the evenings if I am tired, and being 6 months pregnant, that happens a bit. Even at 18 months Nathan gets so excited when he realizes he's going out with daddy. He's more then ready to say "bye bye" to me and head out the door.

Watching him coach his high school athletes...the way he interacts with the teens and their parents always helps erase the stress of my day!

Thanks for an encouraging thread!

Ray got me a card for our one month wedding anniversary! LOL. The note he wrote inside touched my heart. I have read it several times since he has been gone for a week or so. Seems like longer then a week....

.... I love cards and letters. You can read them over and over.... the fact that someone took the time to pick one out and write in it means way more than an email these days... (at least to me!)

I stopped by to see your pics.... You and Ray are a beautiful couple! [:D]

When I asked him on the phone if we had enough money for me a bag of skiddles, he said 'look in the fridge, gotta take care of my girl'. Yeah, I love him. Cindy

I made lamb stew one morning, then went to work. John get's home before I do.

When I got home, he had made biscuits to go with our stew. I was pleasantly surprised!

He got up first for work this morning and I had the day off so I was looking forward to sleeping in. He came into the bedroom before he left and kissed my cheek and pulled the covers up around my shoulders. I LOVE that!

My dh fixes my lunch for me while I'm sleeping on Sundays after church and before I go in to work on Sunday nights. I'm sometimes critical, but he always does it without complaint and he always tries to please me.

karlie -> RE: What has your husband done lately that just made you melt... (10/27/2008 1:38:16 PM)

I'm not an early morning person at all, but have to get up at 5:15 on school mornings. Now that it's still dark outside at that time, it's even harder! My husband has started making coffee about 10 minutes before I have to get up even though he doesn't drink it, and I've never asked him to make it for me. He said he thought smelling it all ready for me would help me wake up a little easier. Sometimes, if he's not rushed for work, he even brings me a cup made just the way I like it. [:)]

car2ner -> RE: What has your husband done lately that just made you melt... (11/1/2008 5:11:48 PM)

We went out for lunch this lazy Saturday, and decided to take the long way home. We passed a dirt road that we never explored before. M'love pulled the truck over and turned back. I asked him if he planned on driving down the dirt road to see what was there. He said, "oh, you thought of that too?" We do that often. We just went down the road, turning corners willy-nilly I told him it looked like the roads took us to the middle of nowhere. Or were we already there? We finished exploring and got home close to 3:00. Blue sky, windows rolled down, it was lovely.
