I just wanted to say that I am so happy to see so many people posting to this thread. I started it for the sole purpose to help show that YES, marriage can be wonderful. It isn't always that way, but if you work at it and appreciate your husband for who he is then you will find that he will also appreciate you.

I am also glad to see that pretty much all of these posts are the "little things" that make us melt. You have to step back and see that those little things matter more than anything.

Thank you all, so much, for helping me put a little happy back in this thread!

My husband surprised me today...I had been out with my sister for the better part of the day and he had come home early from work. That was a surprise but then I went up to our bedroom and he proudly showed me his bigger surprise...he had finally changed out the ceiling fan for the light we had sitting around for years! That made me melt.

My husband brought me roses yesterday for no reason... and watched our eighteen month old and six month old so that I could rest after a long and challenging day with them. I think the second gesture meant more to me!

I'm a scaredy-cat driver and always take the frontage roads -- while my Husband is a fearless truck driver. Recently, when I was driving to school to pick up our daughter my Husband saw me from the freeway --- he made a quick exit, met me on the (thankfully very quiet) frontage road, jumped out of his truck, ran across the intersection and gave me a kiss. We're going on 9 years together and he still melts me.

I really try to express to him how these little or -sometimes - dramatic things that he does make me feel loved. You should see how proud he looks when he hears that!

Today is National Pie Day. It is something we have celebrated over the years, sometimes in a big way and sometimes in a small way. I pretty much forgot it totally today until I was at the bank making a deposit for work. As I was figuring out the date I realized I had completely forgotten Pie Day. My husband is the Fedex courier at my job and when he came in today to pickup our shipment he had a piece of lemon meringue pie. It was yummy! I am so glad he is my sweetie pie!

does it have to be just one thing? He's put up with my mood swings for 18 years yet he remains with open arms as loving as day one. Yesterday a box of chocolates, Monday-running back for a big kiss and hug goodbye at the office when the kids and I had already made him late for an important meeting, saying my secret text messages make his day! oh,gassing up the van BEFORE the -11 temps set in and waking me up at 5:30 so we can have coffee alone before the kids are up - I am so looking forward to the next 18+ years!

Oh my where do I begin. My husband makes me melt by just the way he looks at me. But I have to say the one thing that makes me the meltiest lol is my husband's love for the Lord. I love it when he is just sitting in the living room and suddenly he just starts singing (not always in tune lol) praises to our Lord. It's beautiful and I am ever so thankful the Lord has blessed me so much.

When he comes into my work everyday he will give me a hug and most days he will look at my outfit and say "Well don't you look cute!".

My husband is in Heaven now (3 years ago) but one thing he always did that melted me was to greet me and send me off with a kiss and big hug. It truly never mattered to him where we were or who else was there it was automatic. Even the memories of this melt my heart still.

He cleaned up the mess from the leaking toilet on the floor and shower area.

He's willing to work overtime whenever it's offered to help our family.

He calls every night to check on us to see if we're ok and tells me he doesn't know what he would do without us.

He will go to the store anytime for anything I tell him we ran out of or need.

He will pray with me or for me anytime I ask. :)

It was icy outside and my husband grabbed my hand walked with me very slowly and told me that if I slipped he'd fall underneath me and catch my fall. [:D]

I was sick with the flu and he gave me a body massage, went to two different restaurants to find me soup, and took care of the house and dog as I recooped.

He talks to me before we go to sleep to tell me about his day - big and little things.

One of the nights I was sick with the flu I couldn't sleep. Some how he knew it, woke up, asked how I was, and proceeded to gently touch my face and tell me how much he loved me. And then gently stroked my back until I relaxed and could sleep.

I came home from work today to a house that was picked up, had dim lighting and the most wonderful aroma drifting from the kitchen. Hubby put a chicken in the crockpot. Let me just say my man knows his way around the spice cupboard! He had instrumental hymns playing on the ipod. Very peaceful and comforting and now I can't wait for him to come home so he can enjoy it with me![:D]

There are too many things to choose from...I have a very sweet hubby!

He calls me from work just to chat and see how my day is going. He tells me I'm beautiful every day. He thanks me for the little, everyday things I do for him. He frequently and willingly cooks me dinner and lights candles all over the house. He meets me at the bottom of the stairs in the morning and gives me a long, sweet hug before leaving for the day. I could go on and on. He's great.[sm=heart.gif]

I don't mind bumping this thread. It is too good of a thread to let it fall to the 2nd, 3rd or 4th page.

It was a beautiful day here yesterday and we enjoyed a wonderful walk through the park. It is such a joy wandering through the woods with my man. And he makes sure that I am safe and that I don't miss interesting things, without being overly bossy. (((hugs)))

This was not so much a melty moment as it was a much appreciated moment. I work at a law office that has a really big trial coming up. My boss asked me if I would mind doing some process serving. I needed to find 3 locations in another town 1.5 hours from home and hand deliver summons to three people. I am severely directionally challenged when it comes to finding things the first time so my dear husband drove me. We had a fun day together and the weather was warmer than it has been in a while. So he managed to turn a chore into a date!

I've been terribly sick for the last week, so it melted me when my hubby came home from work to find me feeling terrible, and he told me to crawl into bed while he fed the babies (1 and 3), cleaned up, bathed them and put them to bed, all after his long, 13 hr. day of working. And when the neighbor came over during the kids' bath and I heard him saying "ohh, you get stuck doing all that stuff too after a long day of work?" My hubby was very quiet and then said "well, she isn't feeling good so I'm helping her". He's so sweet! Then the next day I was still feeling terrible and he stopped me in the kitchen, turned me toward him and just held me really close and stroked my hair and made me stay there a few minutes. He melts my heart when he does the dishes if I am not able to be here for a meal because of ministry.

I was as sick as a dog this weekend with stomach flu and really bad allergies and he just got up and started cleaning. He told me to lay on the couch and rest, he would take care of it all.

After 8 years of marriage that certainly makes my heart melt!

He surprised me at work today and took me to lunch. It's really cold and snowing here, so we went to Wendy's for a bowl of Chili....probably not the most romantic place on earth, but just getting to spend unexpected time with him sure helped melt some of this frgid snow![:)]...and warmed my heart a bit too.

he's just an amazing guy. what else can i say?

Annie64 -> RE: What has your husband done lately that just made you melt... (2/16/2008 4:46:56 AM)

I started working 3rd shift a few months ago, and he is so careful to be sure I get my sleep. His concern for me is what really melts me!

On Valentine's day, I met him at his work and he took me to lunch. He gave me chocolates and a card. The card was exactly the kind I like to get--not too serious, but very sweet. It had all kinds of compliments on it, but they were made up by the card company. I told him afterward that I thought the card was really made for somebody prettier than me, and better than me, and he said, "No, you really are all those things."

He can also make me melt sometimes without even being there, when I hear co-workers or others complaining about the men in their lives, and hearing what they say makes me so thankful for the man in my life, for not being whatever they are complaining about! I've really got it good!

Bump (and another antidote)

I am on winter break this week. I could be busy trying to get things done but m'love keeps reminding me that this is supposed to be time for me to unwind and have some fun. (((hugs)))

After a VERY rough first 6 years of marriage, we are finally learning to listen and sense one another's needs. We find that it is always the little things that matter the most to us. My hubby has been so good to me during this pregnancy. So many wonderful comments on how beautiful and glowing I am. And if he is awake during the night (he's a bit of a night owl) he will help me get out of bed so I can go to the bathroom. [:D]

4IMPersuaded -> RE: What has your husband done lately that just made you melt... (2/25/2008 12:38:13 AM)

I worked an 8-hour shift at the hospital on Saturday and when I got home, my four-year-old insisted that I close my eyes and follow her (up the stairs, through the master bedroom and bath and finally...) into my large walk-in closet. She had "helped" Daddy clean it out completely of all of the clothes on the floor, the errant baby socks that needed to be tossed long ago, etc! It was a beautiful sight and one that made me understand that my husband, who's love language is touch and quality time had gone WAAAYYY out of his way to speak my language of acts of service. What a man I am blessed with!
