We watched 21 this past weekend - It was different, not sure I liked it.
Just got Harry and the Hendersons (from back in the 80's) thought the kids would like it, we
will watch it this weekend.

I saw a lot of netflix this weekend......

Last night we watched the Superhero movie, and it was funnier than I thought.

Stop/Loss - Very sad that this happens to people who serve the country. When they are done, they should be done.

The Ruins - Better than I thought. But not really scary.

Mr. Brooks.... I thought it was pretty good. Creepy for sure. Kevin Costner and William Hurt were an interesting pair and it was unique to see Dane Cook in a serious role. I wouldn't recommend to all but if you like the creepy kind of movies, it's ok.

Miss Pettigrew lives for a Day.... I enjoyed it. There is one butt shot that was unnecessary and some innuendo but overall I thought it was pretty watchable. I think Amy Adams is very sweet as an actress... you feel like she's the girl next door. I really enjoyed Frances McDormand's character.

I think it was 'Iam Legend [Will Smith] but i usually i buy movies at Hollywood video stores that may be previously viewed esp when they have big sales there --
I also still like using VHS because i cannot always buy DVDs right off the bat..It is easy to buy VHS movies at like yard sales..

A Man for All Seasons was the latest movie we watched from Netflix. It was quite good, and was the first time either my wife or I had seen it. Sir Thomas Moore stood strong in the midst of horrendous pressure to conform. After all, they told him, everybody else was accepting that the kings marriage was legitimate, surely he could as well. The movie deserved the oscars it won.

We don't rent movies but our middle son and his wife do and they share them with us. We just watched Hancock last night. It was interesting.

garbage.

Lol... I couldn't agree more. Beautiful garbage. Couldn't have said it better. I tried to like it really I did. After the third watching I stopped trying. It just sucked. Want something beautiful AND no garbage to wash the pallet out, I'd suggest the last movie I rented.

The Fall. Absolutely beautiful movie. A visual spectacle. I loved it. Probably my favorite movie I've seen since Pan's Labyrinth. I sooo wish I would have caught this in theatres. I had plans to see it but I think it was in the area for like a total of 9 days -_- But it was great IMO. It's about a little girl who befriends a depressed bedridden man in a hospital who tells her fantastical stories which we see through her imagination. Great story, wonderful visuals... good movie. Really recommend it. I don't understand why they didn't market this movie hardly at all, better than a lot of garbage out there. It's rated R but I have no clue why, there was virtually no offensive content aside from some mild violence and then I guess thematically it is very much aimed at adults. No language, sex or anything like that.

The Assasination of Jesse James by the coward Robert Ford. Haven't watched it yet. Before that it was The Last king of Scotland but I had to stop it about halfway through.

RyansWife -> RE: What was the last movie that you rented? (9/24/2008 5:40:43 AM)

The Namesake - It was about an Indian man who becomes self absorbed but eventually comes around after his father's death.

Giulia -> RE: What was the last movie that you rented? (9/25/2008 12:28:18 AM)

Cool Hand Luke[:D]. I discovered where the channel 9 news music comes from[:D]. Also the famous line " What we have here is a failure to communicate" comes from that film.

Leatherheads - It was just okay. Moves really fast, so you can't be distracted at all or you will miss something. I did like the silly fighting scene. kd

PhrozenPhoenix -> RE: What was the last movie that you rented? (9/30/2008 4:25:00 PM)

Speed Racer.... I thought it was awesome! I'm so upset I didn't go see this in theatres. Easily the most underrated movie of the year IMO. Much better than I was expecting given all the bad reviews about it. The visuals were awesome and the story while ya aimed at kids and given the subject matter, was better than most kid movies released in the last few years. I was actually surprised how good the story was compared to what I was expecting. Sure its not the focus of the movie but it does what it needs to and doesn't bore you. Extremely entertaining.

angie4God -> RE: What was the last movie that you rented? (10/3/2008 1:31:52 PM)

You guys gave a bunch of interesting picks to fill up my Blockbuster queue [;)]

We recently saw The Verdict. As a matter of fact we had just watched it and had gone to watch the news and we learned that Paul Newman had died. Some coincidence huh?

We also saw Surf's Up. It was ok, although my DD got bored with it quickly so me and DH finished watching it.

I'm eager to see Iron Man though
