WOW!!! Lots of chit-chat for a down forums. sheesh. I take one night to go to dinner with my parents....

Shar-Mar ... Yes, my parents are in town for the week and the wedding. Actually, they are in the bay area until Thursday, at which point we will drive up together 4 hours north for my wedding on the coast in wine country. Then they leave on Sunday and I have my honeymoon.

Last night was an interesting evening. My parents got lost looking for the campground. My dad insisted on following the GPS instead of the signs, so they took a loop 20 miles longer than they needed to. They get into the campground (with their GIANT motorhome) and he had a difficult time maneuvering the tight turns and narrow roads. They got settled in and the motorhome wasn't level. He gave up because it was 7 pm (they got into the bay area at 5:00) and the park closes at 10. We wanted to go eat dinner and have them back to the campground before 10 so they weren't locked out. We were nervous because they got lost getting there the first time. And my dad was driving so slowly when they followed us to dinner we got separated.

But they made it back to the camper safely and they got some sleep. Even were able to get online and check emails. YAY!!!!

Tomorrow night my brother-inlaw gets into town. The original plan was for my BIL and sister to stay with my parents; his flight gets in at 9 though. There is no way he'll get to the campground by 10. So now he will stay with me Tuesday night. Wed night at 9 my sister arrives. So I'll go pick her up (my BIL doesn't have a license) and she and nephew will stay with me Wednesday night. Then Thursday we all leave together. Thursday afternoon Josh's sister comes into town and will stay for one night. Friday afternoon Josh, the kids, and his sister will drive up.

It's going to be a crazy week!!!!!!!!

Please pray for our sanity and such if you think about it.

Sharon-Marie ... regarding cranberry juice: So far I'm clean and have no issues. Although I'm even more afraid now of getting one due to my current condition. And I can't find the Mountain cranberry juice at my safeway. It could be in a different aisle. But I've given up. I'm back to regular cranberry juice with added sugar and high fructose corn syrup. I just can't afford $8/week on cranberry juice.

Hi Christine,

My daughter and I take a cranberry suppliment that I get at our health food store, but I have seen similar products at the grocery store. Also, I add dried cranberries to my cereals and salads. Anything with blueberries is helpful also.

I am not wanting to take a supplement if I don't have to. I'd like to try and get the benefits naturally. However getting dried cranberries is a really good idea. Do they have the same effect?

Yes, they do help. The only ingredient in my cranberry pills is freeze dried organic cranberries. I'm not sure how they make the capsules though.

I've found unsweetened cranberry juice at Walmart, of all places. They have Ocean Spray for $2.50 a bottle, not too bad.

But Ocean Spray's juice isn't 100% cranberry juice. It's mostly apple juice with cranberry flavor. That's what I've found to be the difficulty I'm having.

Hi!!! Haven't seen you recently.

i was just looking at cranberry juice a couple weeks ago. some ocean spray is 100% juice, some isn't. it's displayed prominently on the front label if it is.

there's also an Ocean Spray Pure Natural 100% Unsweetened Cranberry Juice

I've read all the labels of all the juices in my juice aisle. I can't find 100% cranberry juice. I've found 100% juice, and I've found cranberry juice with no other juices (but sugar to take away the tartness of the cranberries).

I guess I just am shopping at the wrong stores.

you could also try the organic area or you might need to try an organic store ... the one i linked to seems marketed towards the organic crowd ... i think i looked at 100 different bottles before finding what i wanted!

Safeway usually puts the organic stuff in with the regular. And I see other organic juices there. Just not in cranberry.

I don't have a Trader Joe's or Whole Foods close enough to me to buy it regularly.

Ditto. In high school I had a kidney infection that was so bad I could only have clear liquids and straight up cranberry juice for a week. To this day I don't even go near the cranberry sauce at the holiday meals...

Yeah, you know you're in dr pepper country when not only do the fast food joints offer dr pepper, but diet dr pepper as well! Dublin, TX is the birthplace of Dr Pepper and in Waco they have another Dr Pepper museum. I'm in Texas, and people LOVE Dr Pepper here.
