Kath, I'll be praying for you.

Mrs. K says that hormone replacement therapy can cause migraines, if that is applicable.

She takes butalbital now, and hasn't had a migraine in years.

Hiya Everyone!

Sharon-Marie, seeing those toys made me remember the TV show Dinosours. While it was an interesting show, it was also one of the first shows back in 1990 or so to try to show liberalism down peoples throats. The bady which one of the toys that you have was a fun character though.

Thanks Everyone , I appreciate the prayers and concern. My appointment is midweek next week. So much for getting in soon. Soon means tomorrow in my book. ;)

Thanks Kerr. I refuse artificial hormones so that isn't the problem. I'm just totally against it but thank her for the suggestion. :)

Once in a while I get optical migraines but haven't for a while. This pain is on the side of my head, like just behind my temple. It's better today but it's still there. I think I slept most of the day away.

Yes, soon means tomorrow in my book too. When I was referred to get mammogram for a lump I was told the soonest appt was a month out. I threw a fit. They realized that I was referred by my physician and that it was not a routine mammogram (I was only 25 for crying out loud); they suddenly could fit me in the following week. But still, that's not soon enough for somethign that could potentially be life threatening.

When I was diagnosed with sleep apnea, the wating list for a sleep study was over three months. Thankfully a friend is a nurse there and she put my name for emergency fill-in should anyone cancel. She knew that my case was severe. Someone did cancel and I was in about a week later. (Thank God)

Y'all, I have an urgent prayer request please.

I have just received a PM from someone who tells me that she has been feeling suicidal for the past 21 years; that she has been diagnosed with PTSD and severe depression. She tells me that she is in counseling and is also on anti-depressant medication.

I asked this person if she is, at this very moment, suicidal and her response to me was, "I think about suicide all the time, to be honest, but I don't think I'll make an attempt."

I asked that specific question because if she responded that she was currently, at this moment, suicidal, then I was going to report her to the administration so that they could then track her down and get the local authorities to intervene.

I don't take this PM lightly at all.

I need our Lord's Wisdom and Guidance on how to handle this and what to say / do in response.

Please pray:
(1) for the poster who sent me this PM
and also
(2) for Our Lord's Wisdom and Guidance for me on what to do / say.

Thank you,
Sharon-Marie

I too am praying. And I think you need to try to get to the authorities. I have made 2 attempts in the past before I was diagnosed, and I didn't think I would do anything until i already had tried....

I debated whether or not to put this here, but our Lord won't let me rest until I do. In 2006, I was a moderator here and on Yahoo instant messenger, a friend told me that she wanted to hurt herself. I asked her if she was thinking suicide, and she said no, but that she was depressed and thinking of cutting herself. I didn't know whether to take it seriously or not, but I remembered something Fritz had told me when I was learning the moderator job. "If someone says something about wanting to hurt themselves an any way, let me know right then. I don't care what time it is." So I did. He walked me through the process (since it was in yahoo IM and not in forums or chat, he didn't have any authority to do it himself) and I stayed with the person until help arrived. She still thanks me over 2 years later.

Please help this person SM. You can do what you need to do.

Praying SM! And I agree with James - this is a huge cry for help! May God grant you wisdom and peace and wherever this person is, may they even this moment feel God's great big arms of loved wrapped around them giving them strength, peace and hope.

Thanks you Ben, Jeannie, MBee, James and Kristin.

Just for the record . . . again, I do not take this PM lightly.

I have reported 2 people in the past 3 years who were, at that very moment, truly suicidal; I have no qualms about reporting people for this because I do very much understand the seriousness of this.

Again, thank y'all for your prayers regarding this; I very much appreciate them.
Please also continue to pray for the poster who sent me the PM.
