Yes.

And yes, I think. It's based on a short story I read back in high school.

Goooooood morning Pigeon Gorge!!! Hmm, somehow it just doesn't have the same ring as in the movie.

Mike, I didn't catch the Boston Pops one this year, if that's what you thought I said. The Capitol 4th one is from Washington DC. Normally I would watch both as they do repeat but didn't this year.

I saw some awesome fireworks last night. They had a ton of them that felt like you're getting punched in the chest. Perfect night for them too; it was clear, no wind and about 70 degrees.

Hi everybody.

Glad you enjoyed the fireworks, Steve.

That one is one of my favorites, actually my very favorite. It terrified me when I was a kid. I have to admit it still does.

I miss the fireworks we used to see in PA. They would echo off the mountains, so you'd hear each one several times. Do they do that in the Tetons, SharMar?

Yep, it certainly gave me shivers, and I just saw it day before yesterday for the first time (oh, I already said that, didn't I?).

Donna - we get that around here because they use the river valley as a safe place. Funny, when we saw them last week at the picnic they were on top of the hill and we were commenting on missing that extra noise.

Where did I post about drive-thru fireworks? Here or PS Support.

Thanks Kath

Hey, did y'all want to hear about the drive-thru fireworks????

We don't go to fireworks for the 4th, in favor of the community festival ones, but we ended up in a larger town on the 3rd to get groceries. The plan was to leave Walmart and go to Dairy Queen where they were serving THIN MINT blizzards. We were loading the car and heard 'booming' and looked in the direction of the sound and saw the sky get bright and the occasion 'real' fireworks. When we tried to place the area, we decided they were between us and DQ and Poppa decided to go anyhow. We drove into town and the display. We ended up driving toward, beside, UNDERNEATH and behind the display. As we sat at DQ, we watched part of the show. It was just the neatest thing. And, they were exploding over a river valley so we had lots of noise to go with it.

The noise is half the fun. I can watch from our balcony but it isn't as fun. All we hear is little pops.

Hey Sharon-Marie,

We had talked a little about the crazy Rainbow people many pages back.

I read this in the news today:

quote:

About 400 members of the Rainbow Family threw rocks and sticks at 10 federal officers as they tried to arrest a member of the group, the U.S. Forest Service said Friday. Five members of the group were arrested and one officer was slightly injured. A government vehicle was also damaged.

quote:

State troopers have also arrested two people this week on felony drug charges for allegedly possessing 96 hits of LSD, said Sgt. Stephen Townsend of the Wyoming Highway Patrol.

I could go for that. I wouldn't be all jumpy then...

Buffalo . . . he really was having a bad day. In fact, I hope that Our Lord put him down.
He was a very old buffalo . . . and he was the last of his little group (about 5) that crossed the road.
To cross the road, the bison had to climb (the equivalent of about 3 steps, except a natural landscape incline) to first get to the road.
This poor buff . . . he could barely do it. And then we noticed that he was limping so very badly and favoring his front left leg. We could see him grimace every time he took a step. But God bless him, he was bound and determined to keep up with his friends (and they were good about waiting for him). It was so sweet and so touching and so sad. Bobbie and I both had tears in our eyes and lumps in our throats.

I haven't been so touched since I read about how, if a goose is injured, one of the group will stay with the injured one until it recovers or dies. It gave me a whole new perspective on geese.

96 hits from 2 people?!?!?! They'd be tripping until they were 80.

I don't think they view that as a problem.

Maybe if you take enough of it you will trip 360 degrees back to normalcy.

Not that I would know about that (either tripping or normalcy).

I really didn't think that LSD was popular anymore but had a patient in the ER last week who OD's on the stuff and was on life support. I doubt he will make it.
