Hey Mike!

What did I read about you watching something about the Boston accent? That sounds interesting!

Aww thanks, Mike.

I actually can't take any credit for doing anything for Jimbo.

In fact, I've only met him one time; but someone asked me to pray for him so I'm happy to do so.

I did all the homework yesterday! I'm proud of myself for not putting off homework this semester.

How are you feeling about speech class these days?

Much better, Christi. Looks like there will be no more than 8 people in the class. I should be able to speak easily in front of a small group like that.

quote:

Steve - good for you; I can tend to be a procrastinator myself, but doesn't it feel great when you don't?!

It does feel good, SharMar. Takes all of the last minute pressure off.

Oh wow . . . 8 people is a very manageable number. Just pretend you're talking to us!

Yep, Mike . . . Prayer is always good!

Hey, Mike!

It's a very small school, and an even smaller adult night class. I think the most I have had in a class so far is 17.
SharMar, I will pretend you are sitting in the class, wearing that hat.

LOL!!!

You could also pretend that I'm making fish faces at you.

But then you'll start laughing and everyone will wonder why.

Mike, I listened to 15 minutes of it...there are too many distractions at my house to hear it all right now.

It's very interesting that you have so many dialects there. Just 4 streets over makes a big difference.

Now Sharon-Marie, you are a woman of many facets!

Yes it does, and it is so true about the Irish Boston accent as opposed to the Italian Boston accent as well!

Mike, would you post the dialect link here in the thread, please.

I bet other people would be interested in it.

Okay, now I gotta know...what does Mike sound like?

I guess that's a question for you, SharMar, since you've talked in person. Does he have a heavy accent?

I'm asking because accents fascinate me and they always have. A friend of my friend's dad is from Australia and my friend and I used to love hanging out with him to hear him talk.

Also, there's a drive through coffee place down the road and the owner is from Boston and she and I love to talk baseball. Her accent is too cool. Couldn't tell you what area dialect she has, but she's a neat lady who loves to talk and I love to listen, so that works out pretty good.

Thanks for the link, Mike! I'll be sure and check it out.

Christi, Mike is pretty quiet. He had a bit of a Boston accent, but not thick.
