- Well, I suspect there are a lot of fire hydrants between here and there.

Maybe if you take back roads you can avoid many hydrants.

Rayofsun- Well, if you like to be surrounded in green 95% of the year, the Northwest corner in the Portland area is the place to go. Portland is the biggest city (and the only big city) in oregon. We've also got beautiful high desert east and south of Portland. Bend is a great place to go to for Warm, dry weather, wildlife and desert with trees. We've also got craterlake, basically a giant lake several miles deep in a crater (hence the name)... Lots of white water rafting in central and southern... Skiing on Mount Hood, oregon's tallest peak (around 11k) And about a gazillion trees and all kinds of wildlife...lots of farm country (I mean a lot). Oregon's beaches are also beautiful, unless you're from Florida, then they look a little bleak. You can swim in the ocean if you want, but it's freezing cold and not tropical. Oh, and if you like rain, NW oregon has buckets about 10 months out of the year. We got a lot of cows too. Where do you live?

I just met a guy who has a hydrogen convertor on his SUV. Claims that his mileage has gone from under 20 to around 25 mpg. I'm investigating to learn more about it. The hydrogen converter takes excess alternator electricity to turn the water into hydrogen and oxygen. The hydrogen is fed into the engine for extra power and mileage. It makes sense to me, but I want to do some more research. Too many "snake oil" gadgets out there. One question is how computerized fuel systems adjust to the hydrogen boost. Hey, the price is somewhere below $500.00 At five mpg increase, the return on investment won't take too long to realize. I wonder if I put on on my diecast Corvettes if they would grow up to be full sized cars. Hmm! I might want to take them outside first. A Corvette in the bedroom would ruin my bed.

That all sounds good Electrician...except for the white water rafting and skiing. I think I'm gettin' a little too old for that kinda stuff...and the wife would never even think about it. quote:

Well, ray, plenty of places to sit around and relax, too. Thats what I like to do...to cheap to pay much for entertainment. Maybe I could put a hydrogen thingy-bob on my new carport...

If you'd cut down on the Texas Pete we might not have such a leaking gas problem.
