I just got caught up on the weather around the country. Thankfully nothing too unusual to report from here in Kansas. Sunny and 40F this afternoon; pretty typical.

April, I hope you feel the warm thoughts I'm sending your way.

Dee

Oooooh what a nice thing to think about, Dee!
But it ain't workin' (yet...) [;)]

The good news is we are supposed to get all the way up to 32 degrees today. [sm=dance.gif]
The bad news is that today's heat wave will only last for today.

I could tell you what the rest of the week is going to look like, but I just don't think I can type through my tears. [sm=widecry.gif]

April

We're supposed to get some snow over the weekend and on monday. I'm okay with it I guess as long as we don't end up missing more then a day or so of school. Delays are okay. Complete days off on the other hand are NOT good. The nearby city just recently annexed a portion of county our school district encompasses and by doing so now collects some of the tax monies that were once the counties and used for snow removeal. Thus because of the budget cut, the county now has fewer plows on the roads for snow removal and the outlying parts of the county suffer. And if the rural roads are impassable the school district won't send out the busses, thus resulting in school cancellations.

Right now the temps are about 40 or so degrees, but I'm sure the temps will be dropping overnight.

Blessings,

Garsy

You folk with the cold weather, I do hope you are keeping warm and filled. It was 60 here today. We have this heavy fog sometimes. Other times we have the "Tule Fog" which is only ground-deep, or it floats above you!

sunshine4God -> RE: The Official 2008 All Inclusive Weather & Chat Thread Café (1/13/2008 12:25:12 AM)

Our weather today was alot better than yesterdays rain and thunderstorms. It was a little over 40 degrees.

amymelissa -> RE: The Official 2008 All Inclusive Weather & Chat Thread Café (1/14/2008 5:46:23 AM)

Hmm, dare I mention the beautiful weather I am blessed with in South Australia at the moment? I went out shopping with mum today and it was high 20's (*C)...such a beautiful sunny day! The rest of the week is forecast just as wonderful. Unfortunately no rain though.

garsyt -> RE: The Official 2008 All Inclusive Weather & Chat Thread Café (1/14/2008 12:04:48 PM)

It's FREEZING here. Temps are hovering at around 30 degrees and it's snowing. I've been shivering since I put the kids on the bus this morning.

Blessings,

Garsy

_Cinderella_ -> RE: The Official 2008 All Inclusive Weather & Chat Thread Café (1/14/2008 4:08:17 PM)

Back up to the mid 40's here in the day. Last night we had some fog on my drive home from work.

sunshine4God -> RE: The Official 2008 All Inclusive Weather & Chat Thread Café (1/15/2008 12:43:56 AM)

We got alot of snow which I loved since I went sledding with my friend and her kids, and played in the snow with the kids next door also.Fun,Fun,Fun!

Bubbles5 -> RE: The Official 2008 All Inclusive Weather & Chat Thread Café (1/15/2008 8:38:53 AM)

Just COLD around my parts. [sm=icon_smile_cold.gif] 17 degree's this morning. And snow is predicted Wen and Thur. We might pick-up 2" each day. We will just add on to the collection we already have [:'(]

Grace-N-Mercy -> RE: The Official 2008 All Inclusive Weather & Chat Thread Café (1/15/2008 10:12:42 AM)

I think it was probably around 40 this morning and will get into the low 60's today. I layered a sweater over a turtleneck and I wondered if it would be enough. Pumping gas was a little chilly, but other than that, it's not too bad. We're not expected to get back up into the 80's again for a while... yea!!! I love cold weather!

humbleinspirit -> RE: The Official 2008 All Inclusive Weather & Chat Thread Café (1/15/2008 8:30:27 PM)

We had a snowstorm yesterday, it wasn't too bad though.

Hisjoy -> RE: The Official 2008 All Inclusive Weather & Chat Thread Café (1/15/2008 9:51:36 PM)

We couldn't see the hills today because of fog, but it wasn't bad. I was cold indoors and had to put the heat on for a while, yet it was 43 outside.

LOL April. I'm sorry the warm thoughts aren't working; will keep trying.

It is snowing here, but it sounds like we'll only get a couple of inches.

Dee

_Cinderella_ -> RE: The Official 2008 All Inclusive Weather & Chat Thread Café (1/17/2008 4:52:32 AM)

The "warm" weather we were supposed to be having went away. [:(] I hate feeling like my face is about to freeze off.

baldwidow -> RE: The Official 2008 All Inclusive Weather & Chat Thread Café (1/17/2008 7:01:04 AM)

Tuesday was so nice! But 'they' said a cold front was coming into SW Kansas. I covered the three windows on the north side of this old house with plastic.
Wednesday it was cold and blowing. I think the plastic helped. This house is cold.
There were bits of blowing ice Wednesday morning, making it slick, but we had to go to town 17 miles away to get some food. 5 miles out of town we passed the remains of the largest accident I have ever seen. Two semis were off to the right side, the trailer of one as ripped open and there were vegetables spilled on the highway. On the other side of the highway, there were two cars and another semi, the trailer filled with new cars, now slightly damaged. Then on the other side of the truck was another car, this one overturned onto its roof. Total that we saw, 3 cars and 3 semi-trucks with trailers. There were no rescue workers, I guess the injured had all been taken away. prayers I drove 30 mph to town and so did the rest of the traffic. One the way home, as we were approching the accident, another car passed me up going way too fast. Even seeing the accident didn't slow her down. She sped on.

Hi Baldwidow! [sm=wave.gif]

You have a very interesting nickname. I feel a bit strange calling you with that name though. Could you tell me a bit about it? My name is April (obviously...[;)])

The accident sounds awful. [sm=shocked.gif] I don't understand why people drive so fast. I have lived in Denver, Dallas and Minneapolis (just to mention a few) and many times I have seen those 'hurry up' people speed along and a few miles later, I see them again. Some people are in a hurry just to wait. [:D]

The skies in Wyoming are grey and the temp is probably around zero, AGAIN! [&:] Oh well, Spring will spring in a few months. [sm=thumbsup.gif]

Bubbles5 -> RE: The Official 2008 All Inclusive Weather & Chat Thread Café (1/17/2008 12:48:01 PM)

62 more days till spring arrives [sm=flower.gif]

Accidents and speed...happens alot. Folks just don't respect snow covered roads. Think they can still go 55 MPH when they should be going 30MPH.

Got snow comeing down in my parts. 3" are expected today. Just a county to the west of us, they are getting 7". Already calling off schools in them areas. Then after another inch tomorrow, we will be going into the deep freeze. Highs expected this Sat. are only 5+ degree's. [sm=icon_smile_cold.gif][sm=icon_smile_cold.gif][sm=icon_smile_cold.gif][sm=icon_smile_cold.gif]

Yup...only 62 more days till spring

Hi Barb! [sm=wave.gif]

62 more? [sm=shocked.gif]
Just for that, I'm gonna watch a movie!
Should I eat chocolate first and then popcorn?
Or popcorn and then chocolate?

Decisions, Decisions.
[sm=thumbsup.gif]

Bubbles5 -> RE: The Official 2008 All Inclusive Weather & Chat Thread Café (1/17/2008 2:46:46 PM)

April,
I would go with popcorn then chocolate.

We have BIG snowflakes comeing down now

[sm=biggrin.gif] You are woman who thinks just as I do! [sm=biggrin.gif]
I was going to tell you about the movie that I watched but it was so bad that I already forgot what it was about.

No extra snow (right now), but we do have six degrees.
