I don't think everyone sees sleeping on the floor for a short time as a big deal... However, being forced into public school can be very traumatic for a child who has never been. Especially in the middle of the school year. Since there are no mainstream articles, we can't really speculate on the details. One article I saw stated the 9 yo was charged with assault after hitting a child, but had completed all requirements (anger management class, etc) and the ONLY issue the judge had (a year later at a hearing to clear the charges) was that the school didn't have her affidavit. A school official did testify at one point that she had turned it in, but they lost it. I also believe I read that she had 24 hours left to enroll the kids in school before she left. Even though people were fighting to help her (I don't know if they began the fight before or after she fled), she did not have time left to fight it before enrolling them. Tara P
