We rewatched this week's episode tonight with two sons who had missed it the first time. When Michael tells Sun, "I'm not working for Ben" -- does that mean he's working for Widmore? Or is he just saying that he is not doing this for Ben but because he has to?

I think he was saying he's on the boat not because he's working for Ben, but because he wants to help his fellow Oceanic survivors on the island, perhaps to make restitution for what he did earlier.

Heatherlea -> RE: Lost Season 4 (5/21/2008 9:38:11 AM)

I really wish we didn't have to wait a week for the finale, oh well.

nicole6598 -> RE: Lost Season 4 (5/23/2008 2:53:46 AM)

I think Kate knew what the Claires mum had said, the look on her face when she looked at Jack was like "wow, that's a shock" sort of look.

AussieMum -> RE: Lost Season 4 (5/23/2008 3:22:38 AM)

Yes, I agree Nicole. There was something said in the episode where Jack & Kate were together in the apartment that made me think they both knew Aaron was Jack's nephew, but I really can't remember what was actually said.

This show is just getting twistier & twistier [&:]. In fact I think I am just going to watch it without trying to figure everything out from now on, then after it is finished I will start from the beginning watching it all on DVD to see how it all fits. We don't get the season finale till June 12![sm=icon_smile_faint.gif] too long to wait [&o].

I wonder if the writers knew from the beginning how this was going to play out or are they just making it up as they go along? I think I heard an interview sometime during the first season where they anticipated only 3 seasons - season one to deal with the crash and the 'others', season 2 to explore the hatches and all they entailed and season 3 was to be the conclusion. I sort of wish it had been like that. This is starting to drag on too long and is becoming too drawn out. Here in Aust it has been showing at 10.30pm which is a fair indication that it is losing audience. I think I am the only one of my friends still watching [sm=unsure.gif]

They say they have the whole thing outlined, and have given 2010 as the final season.

I agree, I think she knows.
I'm not sure if it's just me but when Jack found out who Claire is, I thought it was an odd/weak scene. I guess it's one of those things that we wonder how Jack would find out because it was laid out that when we found out they were siblings, personally, I was like [sm=icon_smile_yikes.gif]-- it was like , by the way..you have a sister. I guess I wanted more dramatic than that but then it's just my opinion.

furrypurrykitty -> RE: Lost Season 4 (5/23/2008 11:06:15 PM)

I think the revelation about Jack and Claire being half-siblings seemed anticlimactic because it was no surprise to us -- we'd known about it for some time.

Yeah, but I had been wondering if either of them ever found out and how, so this was interesting to me in that way.

I just had a horrid thought. Maybe it's Sayid in the casket. Sayid had no family to greet him when the Oceanic Six came home, and he is off killing people for Ben: at the end of the episode with his flash forward, he told Ben that those whoever he was after knew he was after them now, and I think Ben said that was good. If that person (someone working for Widmore, no doubt) then got to Sayid, as he almost did with that girl...well, Sayid could be the one killed. Hurley would be in the asylum at that point and so he wouldn't have made it to the funeral.

OTOH....it could be Ben in the casket, and Jack decides they need to take up his fight. But the former would be more plausible.

Sayid does sound more plausible. Somehow I can't see Ben being killed off. He's just too wiley for that. Seems invincible.

But didn't the funeral director ask Jack if the person in the casket was family or a friend? And Jack said no, so that makes me think it's not Sayid. I think Jack would have considered Sayid a friend and would have said yes to that question.

That's one of the reasons I think it's Michael, unless he gets killed in the season finale.

Good point. I guess Michael would fit better into that description. I had forgotten about Jack's comment at the funeral home.

I can't wait until the finale this Thursday!!!![sm=dance.gif][sm=dance.gif][sm=dance.gif][sm=dance.gif]

Wayfaring_Stranger -> RE: Lost Season 4 (5/27/2008 10:08:35 AM)

I had forgotten about the friend or family comment, too. That makes me think the person in the coffin then is Ben, and maybe with his death sparks Jack to realize he needs to go back.

I hadn't considered that it might be Michael. Hmmmmm

alias007 -> RE: Lost Season 4 (5/29/2008 1:16:30 PM)

2 hour season finale- Tonight!!

jodavi -> RE: Lost Season 4 (5/29/2008 2:11:07 PM)

Off topic- anyone seen a new show on Fox coming this Fall called Fringe? It's JJ Abrams work and there was also a plane involved. Preview also shows Abaddon from Lost - the creepy dude that showed up in the psychiatric ward with Hurley and also showed up on Locke. I'm sure it's not about another plane crash but it's just odd to see JJ Abrams and another plane crash again.

Miss Giggles -> RE: Lost Season 4 (5/29/2008 11:21:17 PM)

Well I was wrong with my theory about who was in the casket.

Interesting, wonder how next season will go.

The new show better not be a spinoff, LOL my head hurts trying to put this all together.

furrypurrykitty -> RE: Lost Season 4 (5/29/2008 11:53:00 PM)

[sm=icon_smile_yikes.gif][sm=eek.gif] *THUD*

That was my reaction when I saw who was in the coffin. I totally did NOT see that coming. When Ben and Jack were talking in front of the coffin, I was thinking, "They're not going to show us who's in the coffin until next season and I'm going to be SO MAD!!!" So why did Locke leave the island? Why was he calling himself Jeremy Bentham? My brain hurts.

I laughed out loud when Sawyer called Lapidus Kenny Rogers. I have a friend who thinks Sawyer is "yummy," as she puts it, and after he jumped out of the copter into the water, she called to say, "He'd better not get eaten by a shark!" I told her later that when he came out of the water with no shirt on, I thought, "Well, he didn't get eaten by a shark and he's shirtless, so Amy's probably ecstatic."

Loved the fight between Sayid and Keamy. Go Sayid! That boy knows how to whup 'em!

I'm still creeped out by Richard Alpert's eyeliner.

jodavi -> RE: Lost Season 4 (5/30/2008 12:00:26 AM)

I love everything about the finale. There were questions answered but opened more questions but then there were happiness too- Desmond and Penny. I got weepy with Sun when the freighter exploded. It's great to see Walt all grown up- at least it's more appropriate with the story line now. Locke...how did he get out of the island? 'wonder if he followed Ben. Is Jack's Dad the angel of death and if so...Jack's been seeing him passing by lately ...does it mean his time is almost up also?

I was totally shocked too by who was in the coffin. Opens up a whole new set of questions. And I cracked up at the Kenny Rogers comment! He's pretty dead on, too![:D]

As for the fighting ... wow!! GREAT action!!

I hadn't noticed Richard's eyeliner until this show after someone mentioned it on this thread. I had always wondered why he had such creepy-looking eyes. I noticed it tonight, though![sm=icon_smile_boggled.gif]

It was just nice to see how all the pieces fit together. I was SOOOOO glad that Desmond and Penny were reunited! I was afraid earlier in the show that they were gonna kill him off, because I was wondering how he and the pilot didn't make it back with the Oceanic 6.

But I couldn't believe Jin died! All this time I thought he had stayed on the island. That was a real tear-jerker part for me.

And the Orchid station was just the coolest! I think that's one thing I've enjoyed about this show -- the constant discovery of these really cool secret places. I wonder if they'll ever explain how the island-moving room and mechanism got there? And, for that matter, who Jacob is? And who the Others are? Oh well ... until next season! (sigh)[8|]

momof4 -> RE: Lost Season 4 (5/30/2008 6:42:40 AM)

OK, the part where Loicke is feverishly working to keep the dude alive so the ship's bomb doesn't go off: Ahem, hey Locke, why don't you just, um, REMOVE the heart monitor from the dude an attach it to yourself? That would totally solve the problem! The monitor doesn't know who's heart it is monitoring! Duh! You could have saved all those people!

momof4 -> RE: Lost Season 4 (5/30/2008 6:45:38 AM)

I had heard the theory that Locke was in the coffn b4. Wonder what happened, and why they brought him to the US to bury, esp under a false name?

I'm glad Ds and Penny were reunited. Now how do they keep the news of Des' safety away from Penny's dad?

I knew the pilot survived because they showed a flash forward of him before. And if I remember right they also showed a flash forward of Dan.

I was thinking the same thing.

sgpianoman -> RE: Lost Season 4 (5/30/2008 8:59:09 AM)

I wish we knew more about how the heart monitor worked. Would there have been a way to disconnecte and re-connect it in time to keep the "signal" so the c4 wouldn't go off anyway.

and anyhow, i'm sure thats how ben wanted it because he "always has a plan" [:D]
