Lots of good stuff again last night!

#1 question: Where the heck is Claire???!!!

Gotta love Hurley. "I see Charlie...we sit and talk...it's pretty cool actually." "He made me write it down so I didn't mess it up."

So the redhead speaks Korean. I have a feeling that's a setup for more than just Jin's threat to break Dan's fingers "one at a time" if Sun doesn't get on that chopper.

Okay, we can eliminate Sawyer as the mysterious occupant of the coffin that Jack went to see earlier. Because when Jack and Kate meet at the airport afterwards, she says something like "he'll find out", and that's how she's referring to Sawyer in the flash forwards ("he"/"him").

Lots more, but have to get to work now.

I am wondering if that scene at the season finale last year where Jack and Kate meet at the airport occurs after the events of this episode in the timeline -- if Jack and Kate have broken their engagement by then. He seems a lot more wasted with alcohol and emotion then, and the flash forwards from this episode seem to be setting up for that.

Anyone catch what the prescription was Jack asked his colleague for and know what it's for?

Had Jack's father revealed to Claire that he was her father? I remember the episode where her mother is in a hospital or nursing home and he comes to see them, but I thought she turned him away. Or maybe he told her but she didn't know his name.

I don't know what the whole deal is with dead people coming back to visit. The writers have said all along this isn't a purgatory situation. I'm going to be mad if they pull a "Gotcha!" and say that's what it is all about after all. If the Oceanic Six are really dead, what's going on with those who do die on the island, like Rousseau?

And I wonder who is supposed to raise Aaron if Jack isn't? Kate alone or with someone else? And what favor could she be doing for Sawyer?

I believe it was Clonasipam. I looked it up on the internet and it's mostly used to treat anxiety.

And what's with Miles-- was he hearing things when he asked Sawyer about Russeau and Alex's boyfriend? And I'm assuming Jack knows that Aaron is related to him? Since he told Kate flatly that Aaron's not even related to her?
This show answers one thing then opens up more questions.

Yes, but she cut him off before getting any info - name, where he lives, etc.

Guess she knows now! If Miles didn't take off when Sawyer went after Aaron he's in a heap of trouble.

Judging by the fact that Aaron's a toddler in the flash forwards I'm guessing they're taking place 3 years after they left the island. I'm sure that's gong to be significant somehow.

Jack and Claire don't know they're half-siblings. I think I read somewhere that this will be revealed to them by the end of this season.

Miles can hear dead people, and not just on the island -- the episode with his flashback showed that. I thought it was particularly creepy when he uncovered Rousseau's and Carl's faces.

I think if everybody really was dead, they wouldn't have Hurley talking about how everybody's dead. The writers seem to get a kick out of taking what we think and expect and turning it on its head. Hurley probably saw the news report that supposedly showed the wreck of Oceanic 815 at the bottom of the ocean, but we've already been told (by Ben?) that was a hoax set up by Widmore. I think Hurley just doesn't know that. And maybe he also thinks he's dead because Charlie visits him and Charlie is dead (at least as far as we know).

OOOH, is it too soon to say anything? OK, I'll post it in white, here goes, hope it works!

When Jack said to Kate,

So, what were you gonna say????

Last night's episode was good, but I'm losing interest as they have more and more episodes away from the island. Some of the series' appeal to me was the natural beauty of the island and the idea of their being able to survive in the wild. The scenes with Jack and Kate back in the states were just too suburban. I might have been watching any show.

And I don't like what they've done with Kate's "back in L.A." character. She was never that feminine or "foofy" when she was on the mainland before going to Australia or when she's on the island. To me, some of her appeal is her "no frills" personality, and the curly hair and blouse with ribbons and lack of tomboyishness just totally change her character.

I was gooing to say that when Jack said to Kate, about Aaron, "You're not even related to him!" he was going to add, "but I'm his uncle", but then they got interrupted. I agree, Kate was more "no frills" when she was this fugitive on the run from the law. Maybe they have her more "frilly" b/c now she has money and leisure time, so she can get nicer clothes, and get her nails done, etc. Natually, when you're on the run from the law, or trying to stay alive on an island, you are "no frills".

Well, yeah I suppose that's true! However, I still miss the old gutsy Kate in the "back in the states" scenes. The only time in the past when she was in similar circumstances was when she was married before and then left her husband because she said she just couldn't do the marriage thing anymore. In those scenes she was well-groomed but not ultra-feminine--more just casually stylish. That seemed more true to her character. Maybe they are showing that motherhood has made her a softer person.

The fact that the island can be "moved" indicates that it is a man-made structure and it's probably one reason why Widmore can't find it.

I thought Locke's background was interesting. Did we know before that he was given up for adoption? I remember his mom coming to him when his dad was looking for him to get a kidney, but I couldn't remember if she was his biological mom and if he had known her before. I am wondering now if his dad had some connection with the island before Locke was born.

Whatever the situation is with "Richard," he's appeared the same age every time we've seen him -- when Ben was a boy, when Richard recruited Juliet, and now when Locke was born as well as the last time we saw him on the island.

That reminds me -- I wonder what the "others" waiting at the "sanctuary" have been doing all this time?

When Ben was watching Locke go to the cabin, I began to wonder if he was really manipulating Locke rather than just the island being done with him and choosing Locke now.

Loved the scene with Hurley sharing his candy bar with Ben. Just seemed like a normal, human moment.

Oh, and when Kimmee aimed his gun at Michael, my husband reminded us about Michael's gun not working on himself -- so when Kimmee's didn't either, I guess that means there is still something for Michael to do.

Do you think Claire died in her sleep from the blast ?

She looked odd. Had a goofy grin.

So next week Hurley ends up in the 6 who make it off the island. Some on Sayid's boat & some on the helicopter ?

Wonder what would happen if the "I hear dead people" guy ends up near that mass grave ?

SO Locke will owe the orderly ? The orderly that also visited Hurley.

Have no clue since the knife was wrong. When he placed the knife I thought it was IT.

He seems a lot more wasted with alcohol and emotion then, and the flash forwards from this episode seem to be setting up for that.

Kate said "I need to get back, he'll be wondering where I am" at the airport and she was referring to Aaron. They say clearly in this current episode that Sawyer "chose to remain" on the island (which does eliminate him from being in the coffin, but not for the reason given above). The airport scene definately takes place after Kate and Jack's breakup (which takes place when Aaron is a toddler so he definately would be old enough when they meet at the airport to wonder where his "mother" is). At the point of their breakup, Hurly is the only one saying that they need to go back to the island. Well, actually at that exact point he is saying they are all dead but one of the things he said to Jack when he first went into the nut house was that they need to go back (this was after he first saw Charlie several Seas. 4 episodes back.) But at the airport, Jack is also trying to get back to the island and tells Kate "we have to go back". He has also lost all credibility at the hospital. Both of those circumstances are contrary to his state of mind and occupation when they break up. It is, in fact, a combination of him beginning to see his dead dad and the breakup which sends him over the edge into the drugs and alcohol that leads to his worsened state when they meet at the airport.

BTW - I think Walt is in the coffin.

I thought he was supposed to pick the comic book. It looked similar to the one Walt had in the first episode, but no polar bear on the cover.

If Jacob is the "man who never ages", is this a reverse of Dorian Gray? The man we see never ages, but the real man is old and feeble and needs help? Just grasping at straws here.

The orderly, AKA Oceanic rep who visited Hurley, is Matthew Abaddon. Another mysterious "Lost" character!

Agreed. A nice, quiet scene by two very good actors.
