Do not wear yourself our to get rich; have the wisdom to show restraint.
Cast but a glance at riches, and they are gone, for they will surely sprout wings and fly off to the sky like an eagle. (Proverbs 23:4-5)

Better the little that the righteous have than the wealth of many wicked. (Psalms 37: 16)

Whoever trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous will thrive like a green leaf. (Proverbs 11:28)

A stingy man is eager to get rich and is unaware that poverty awaits him. (Proverbs 28:22)

Better a poor man whose walk is blameless than a rich man whose ways are perverse. (Proverbs 28:6)

Love this thread, we all have favorite scripture passages that lift us up. Mine is from Ecclesiastes; 5;19, Every man also to whom God has given wealth and possessions and power to enjoy them and to accept his lot and find enjoyment in his toil- this is the gift from God. For he will not much remember the days of his life because God keeps him occupied with joy in his hear. Walk in the joy of our salvation. If we walk in that joy we will be aglow in the spirit. Rom 12. Blessings Sudzer

Psalm 37:4-5
"Delight yourself in the LORD;
And He will give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the LORD,
Trust also in Him, and He will do it.

I have discovered that one of the uses of the word 'delight', in the Hebrew language and culture, has to do with pottery,
and more specifically it has to do with the malleability of clay.

I think that meaning is significant to this passage!

If I will trust the Lord to be the Potter of my heart, He will mold it as clay, to want the very things
He wants for me, the very desires of His own heart!

It's in a safe place we find ourselves in--to be in the hands of The Potter!

* In HIM our hearts rejoice, for we trust in His holy name. (Psalms 33:21)

Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

James 1:22
Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.
John 16:33
